Alternating routes or ways are time consuming too sometimes

Last night on the way home, the usual road or route that we used to pass/travel was quite traffic due to accident so taking some alternative routes was an option. We went to one of the alternative route but its quite time consuming somehow and gas as well. Well we cant really predict traffic on the road. Overall we spend additional thirty minutes of travel time than the usual but at least we are moving and not stucked in the terrible and congested traffic. Better than being in the middle of the traffic, not moving and irritated at the same time. Good thing the alternative route we take is not traffic and fast moving cause it would useless if the traffic was the same.

It depends on the route. If the one you mention is true, I prefer not to take alternative routes. If the route is time consuming and you spend several liters of gas better to stick the road you take.

Hi Good that you have/took an alternative route but some routes don't have any alternatives roads and if any accidents took place we have wait until the traffic is cleared and it takes much time. Its like hell.

Yeah good thing that there are some alternative routes now to reach the house. In case the fastest way is a bit traffic, alternative routes are useful, but the alternative routes should be less traffic or no traffic at all cause it maybe useless at all.

In such cases (accident) alternative route is the best option than being stuck. I would rather take the long road than staying in the middle of traffic, commotion and annoying situation.

Yeah better than being stuck for couple of minutes or so. Good thing that the alternative route was not traffic or else the scenario will be the same and the fact the time and gas will be wasted at all.

Have you tried any of those GPS devices? Many of them have satellite traffic updates which are not always 100% accurate but they do provide a pretty good prediction of how traffic is looking.

No never tried the gps since there are some parts in my route has weak signal so it is quite not advisable for me. Well at least I know some alternative routes that we could take when traffic is really bad.
