Mt Pinatubo - The crater that was created after Mt Pinatubo, a mountain that was thought to be dormant, erupted in June 1991.

Ever since I was able to watch that news clip about trekking Mt. Pinatubo, it has always been my goal to one day trek this mountain. But it took a few years before I was able to do so since before it was very expensive. Last Sunday my friends and I were able to climb or should I say this wonderful mountain. The trek took us about three hours to get to the crater, the one that is featured on so many pictures. It is a 7km. walk through volcanic sand, rocks, and small streams. Getting to the trek jump off point in itself is a challenge because you will have to travel for about an hour through rough road. But once you do get to the top and see the lake, all the jumbling and non stop walking will be worth it because it is a beauty to behold. This is the first trip I've had this year, and it is a memorable one.

Good to hear your experience going to Mt. Pinatubo. I live almost in the same province of Mt Pinatubo but unfortunately, I haven't been able to visit it yet. But, it is on my list to visit soon. I love visiting nature parks than malls and I know I will enjoy it too like you.

I am a mountain climber for almost 4 years and one of my dream to visit the crater of Mt. Pinatubo. As of the moment don't have time yet to have another adventure trip. I will finish climbing first all the mountain here in Mindanao. Maybe after a year or 2 years I will visit Pinatubo.

Good thing you had experience that. I guess that was indeed very physically demanding and very much so satisfying to see the crater and the lake that was formed from that mountain. It is hard to believe that a place so serene and beautiful is the epicenter of a very violent past. I wish I could also experience going into that place soon.

I congratulate you for having the courage and determination to trek Mt. Pinatubo. At least, you can say to yourself when you are old, that you once trekked Mt. Pinatubo , so don't lose your pictures when you reached it. The sight was indeed something to behold as i can see from the picture you attached. I suppose it's so cold up there, Anne.

I'm very happy for you, you see when I was younger and had the time, i loved climbing mountains, in fact I had climbed several in our country but Pinatubo was never heard of before it erupted, hope they do not make it so commercialized that even ordinary folks like me can enjoy it and not just for " tourists only". I know what you mean, any mountain especially the summit is a beauty to behold, conquering it comes secondary

I very much enjoyed reading about your trek up Mount Pinatubo. The walk through the volcanic sand, rocks and steams must have been exciting. I am glad the views were beautiful and scenic. It was a great first trip of this year. In my lifetime I have been up three mountains. The first one was a Norwegian mountain when I was aged 18 years old. It was misty at the top of the mountain. The second time I climbed Mount Warning in Australia. The third time I climbed a mountain in New Zealand's North Land. Both of those gave me spectacular views.

I would like to to do that as well. I have heard news about Mt. Pinatubo and it is really beautiful. I climbed the Mt. Pulag before and there was a lot of walking for three days. However, when we reached the peak of the mountain it was truly exhilarating and the nature was just amazing. Hope can trek the Mt. Pinatubo too.

Hey I think you have enjoyed very much and you are very happy about this. You know one thing I didn't went on trip for last 2 years because of my exams. I finished it in last August but I didn't sure about my exams and I think that I have to do it again. I think in this year also I haven't a trip and I am so sad about that.....
