Signed out of Hospital

Has anyone ever signed themselves out of the hospital, against the doctor's wishes? I have done this. I was at a hospital that, at first, seemed to be really thorough with their treatment. But after having them change my medications, add medications, take a lengthy amount of time to treat me and even to let me go to the bathroom, having no beds and keeping me and others in the emergency room overnight, extending my stay over and over again, doubling patients up in every room... I decided I needed to go home rather than to lay in the hospital bed doing nothing. I felt fine, but I also started to feel like the hospital was trying to make money off of the patients. I mean I didn't see why the hospital was so crowded and it's basically in a mostly rural area. I appreciate the thoroughness, but I had to get on with my life and felt I could handle my issues as an outpatient. What are your experiences with hospital stays? Do you prefer quick and adequate healthcare or thorough, drawn out care?

I had seen some patients who requested to be discharge from the hospital, it is called home against medical advice. Some patients who are terminally ill wishes to be at home than dying on the hospital bed. They wanted to have the final wish to see the family.

I totally understand that, and I think it's reasonable. Thank God, in my situation, I was not faced with being terminally ill. I'm not sure if I would want to die at home and put that pressure on my family.
