I also don't know . Evil things happen in the world, this must mean that god either doesn't want to or isn't able to do anything about it. If he doesn't want to do anything about it, he cant be good. if he isn't able to do anything about it, he can't be almighty,- or perhaps he doesn't exist at all. how about you?what is your opinion and what can you say about this?

I have heard this question a lot of times.. I am not a religious person either, nor I may claim that I am very close to God, but let me share your this story of the barber. So, here it goes,,, A man went to a barber shop to have his hair and his beard cut as always. He started to have a good conversation with the barber who attended him. They talked about so many things and various subjects. Suddenly, they touched the subject of God. The barber said: "Look man, I don't believe that God exists as you say." "Why do you say that?" asked the client. "Well, it's so easy, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God does not exist. Oh, tell me, if God existed, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be no suffering nor pain. I can't think of loving a God who permits all of these things." The client stopped for a moment thinking, but he didn't want to respond as to cause an argument. The barber finished his job and the client went out of the shop. Just after he left the barber shop he saw a man in the street with a long hair and beard (it seems that it had been a long time since he had his cut and he looked so untidy). Then the client again entered the barber shop and he said to the barber, "You know what? Barbers do not exist." "How can you say they don't exist?" asked the barber. "Well I am here and I am a barber." "No!" the client exclaimed. "They don't exist because if they did there would be no people with long hair and a beard like that man who walks in the street." "Ah, barbers do exist, what happens is that people do not come to me." "Exactly!"- affirmed the client. "That's the point. God does exist, what happens is people don't go to Him and do not look for Him. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world." So the point here, in my opinion is, Man suffer because they he does not come to God for help and guidance.

If it was this simple, wouldn't everyone have caught on in 2000 years, and all would have come to God, and there would be no pain and no suffering in the world? Is this the full meaning of this Post? Is there anyone simple enough to believe this? Come on! Its all hogwash isn't it?

Like God exist so does Evil so that is why there is suffering because people do more bad than good . That is my view , we do things and get our self in trouble . We are the one destroying the world .

you got a point silverfox. base on my observation people did more bad than good and maybe they did that because of some problems. maybe thats the main cause why other people suffered.

It is these questions and situations that make it absolutly clear that any god is just an invention of men and not real. Priests will give you all sorts of explainations for different events and when stuck just say something like "god moves in mysterious ways" but it all nonsense

God gave everyone the choice of free will. and the more people that turn away from him, and turn to evil the more suffering will come about.

Now, I'm entirely basing this off of what I have heard, and I don't really consider myself to be a religious person here, but I suppose the people aren't being 'faithful enough' ? Who knows :/

I'm not a religious person but I don't question why others are suffering or why I am suffering at times. All I know is that life is not all bad and there are good times. And in those good times, people rarely thought about God because they're too happy or just forget. I'm not saying everybody but most of the time, we question when we suffer and don't question when we're happy.

The quick answer is 'free will' the longer answer is complex so I won't bore you with it all the best, urban

You can't be sure about what is wrong and right. There is no evil and no good, this only a thought in your mind.

God has created us and has given some guide lines through His prophets/messangers and Books like Qur'an, Bible, Torah, Tripitaka, Vedas etc. If we follow as per instructions of God, then we will have no problems but most of us do not follow the instructions and common people are being cheated by their governments, leaders, officials even relatives & siblings. So sufferings are created by people not by the God. Have a very nice weekend.

God has created a super being like human kind incorporating an unlimited potentials of creativity. Human kind have to depend on its own creativity, research and effort as to surviving against all adversities of nature. Self dependence is the best way. Self dependence helps learn survive but dependence leads to extinction. That means even we must not depend on God. God is a set of conscience and rules. If we take them and implement them in all spheres of our life we can get and enjoy the best of Him automatically.

It serves as a trail in life. God will never give obstacles if we cannot surpass this. We may question him for such, though it is our initiatives to how we deal with the problems.

There will be good things after experiencing agony in life. It is one of the obstacles that we need to face. Running from such agony cannot solve anything.

In my opinion God is everywhere. God is within us so we can believe that if we do something wrong it is evil and vice versa. He is almighty correct but we have to carry on his commandments. I think evil things are just done by us . But almighty is a power which always judge us whether correct or wrong.

We bring the suffering upon ourselves. It's called Karma, or reaping what we sow. Mostly pain and suffering is our our spirits are forged. When my son learned how to ride a bike. I didn't want him to suffer the pain of falling down. But I had to let him go through it, scraped knees and all. It's all part of our experience here on earth.

I found a reasonable answer in a golden color book, 'What does the Bible Really Teach?'. Download yours at publications. It is free. Check chapter 11. The topic is: Why Does God Allow Suffering? Very informative and true. For me though there are three reasons, 1. Man in his imperfect state do many things imperfectly and pay dearly for it 2. There is an evil being, very cruel and wicked that influences some persons to do bad 3. Unforeseen occurrences befall us all. Being at the wrong place at he ring time can bring about suffering

I often wonder the same thing? Why does he take new born babies? Why does he let people get cancer, diabetes and other diseases? I think this is a question that doesn't have an answer.

That's like asking why there have to be any ugly colors in the most-beautiful paintings, why medicine has to taste so terrible, why childbirth hurts. Answer: to make the good stuff Awesome!

God gave humans the power of choice. So, what is happening is not because God wants it to happen, but because people are choosing to do bad or evil things. Even the weather patterns that are changing and causing destruction in some parts of the world are not because God did it, but because humans chose to destroy the earth in the name of progression. What we can do is to continue to pray that God helps mankind.

Joy cannot exist without pain. If we never felt pain, if we never suffered we wouldn't be able to appreciate the good things in our lives. If everything was good in our lives, we'd find it boring and normal and not good at all. If you have not suffered, you haven't existed. If you haven't experienced pain, you cannot appreciate joy.

No, evil things happened because people want evil things, always want to make believed and be dependent of everything. If we are NOT blessed of the right thinking of if not a healthy mind to differenciate wrong from right then we can say he is bad he dont WANT us to be good and if not your right there is no GOD. But people we are talking are normal people with good thinking but refused to do things right and want always somebody to blame of their wrong doings.
