Hello Lotters, I know we all make choices and am obviously an adult now. hard to believe that am the one who is an inactive christian were during my teenage years, i seem to be the one hasting ready to go to church and follow it's traditions, even our own filipino tradition in CHristian Beliefs. Probably I was active because I've studied in Catholic School through Highschool and College that my activity going to the church went a slow halt. then, a few years later, i starting to realize that going to the church only for the sake of it and not renewing my faith or trust in god was becoming the purpose. I stop going to church, because i felt turning into a hypocrite. Now, I felt the loneliness, insecurity, despair, sometimes even discontent..but most of the time i do thank the lord for the blessing he gave us. we rarely have problem with paying bills anymore. but some how, my life is stuck and I lost pursuing what ever dream I have. but I am Living a Simple Life like all the others. I tried to read the bible, but it seemed the best method of knocking me out slowly

Hi, It is great that you have not left God, and we are so many who have left the religion we were born in when we realize that it doesn't make sense. We cannot just rely on others what religion is the true one. We have to - with God's help find out and do research ourselves. I was born into the Lutheran church but left it when I found out that they don't follow the Bible. After 60 years I am happy that I found the truth when I was a teenager. I am still learning, but it is a great pleasure to study the Bible and see others make changes in their lives and become better persons who love others. When I want answers to my questions, this is my favorite site: jw.org - you can both listen and read there and search for info in lots of languages. There are music and dramas and other things that makes the studying really interesting, as you will understand it better for every day. Wish you happy research...

JohnRok1 Thanks for your comment. I am aware of what people believe - the problem is that the news you read many times are full of prejudices. We have to do our own research and see what is true and what is not. How many religious people go and kill others in the wars? What does God have to say abot that? Why do many doctors refuse to take blood? Well - why don't we continue doing research. Happy studying..

Hi Letran Knight: I think that what you are telling to us is somehow sad but it's better to be honest with yourself specially when you are not really feeling religious. I hope that on the road you'll find God and start a new communication with HIM. Doing something just because everybody do it too make people cynical so I can understand how you feel and why you take this choice. ALVARO

Life can take you on curious paths and you may return to a similar path to one you once followed Sometimes to walk again on the same path, is to walk with surer tread all the best, urban

You don't have to attend church to be a good Christian. Church is like a support group and I don't need a support group to maintain my faith. Therefore, I don't go to church. I do think that when we let God into our lives it is better and more fulfilling. But I do not think the measure of a good person is how often they go to church. You should worship sincerely, in your own way, and I believe that it will mean more to God than if you went to church every day.

This is the reason G*d puts us on Earth---just to 'do things,' not 'to know the reasons why we do them.'

Hi Letran. I think all too often that people get hung up on tradition and the church and the priest and they take their eyes off God the Father, And the Son who bore our iniquities on the cross. We tend to forget that Christ chose the nails for us. He didn't have to do it. He could have denied the Father His will, but it was God's will that was done. Going to church every Sunday or Saturday like good little girls and boys is worthless if you take your eyes off the Prize.

Do you believe in G-d? If the answer is yes, then you haven't left G-d. many people believe in G-d but do not go to church. G-d is everywhere and we can and Do worship Him in many different ways. Just be happy and believe in G-d and everything will be ok.

You need to find a church where they teach the bible as the word of God and do not add any man made customs to it.

Well you should thank yourself. The biggest lie propagated by the Roman Catholic church which made them rich was that God can be worshipped only in churches and that if you don't go to church you're bad. Gosh. You can worship God by meditation and tuning in to your higher self. What RC distorted was God had to be some unreachable being and so separate from man because man is born a sinner. I was christened a Roman Catholic because of my parents' faith. But at a young age I questioned everything because the Catholic practices did not feel right. I am happy when I learned about meditation and I sure did not abandon God as God can be found in each of us. Religion is distorting simple truths.

dear brother, As long as you still believe that there is God- that means you still have God in your life. I understand what you feel- I have been through it many years ago. I wander from religion to religion seeking for the truth. Until I found a faith where my heart found peace and contentment. Reading the Bible is a good way to find and realize what you want and what is your purpose in this life. Someday God will show you the way It's late and you're still awake. Glad to see you mylotting and not wasting playing games

Being a Christian's hard, no one said it was easy. If you want to read the Bible without falling asleep, find one on contemporary English, there are a lot of them out there and it's a lot easier to understand when it's written in a way that doesn't make it complicated.

Sounds like you need to do something with a purpose. You should try to do something that is out of your element but would enjoy at the same time. For instance maybe you dislike dogs because one bit you when you were younger. Go to a pound and volunteer to help out with the dogs and learn that dogs are just like us. Some of them, like us, are misguided, but with the right care are just really great creatures. Not saying that happened to you just using it as and example. I hope you know what I mean.

I don't want to judge you for being like that Letran. I think, everyone of us comes to a point where some beliefs about the religion or church is already a question. I am a Catholic too, but because i was already exposed to some Christian activities and beliefs, i also don't do some Catholic traditions. However, i still go to mass regularly and whenever i can. That's because i still believe that on rest day, i should pay homage to God. You haven't left God actually, Letran, because you still thank him for the blessings in your life.

It's never to late to turn to God for help & guidance. The thing to remember is that bad things are not caused by God. God is a God a love, yet when anything bad ever happens the first thing people do is blame God. But God is a God of love & brings harm to no one. When Satan was cast out of heaven he was thrown down onto the earth, so we can say that Satan is the ruler of this world & not God. Just watch the news & look around you. You can clearly see Satan's hand in everything. He causes bad t all sorts of people because he is evil itself. The only way that we can protect ourselves from him is to stay close to God. It may be difficult at times or even hard to understand at other times, but try reading just a chapter or two of your Bible every day. Before long you will feel that closeness to God that you long to feel.

If that is your choice I will respect your decision. Your family cannot save you even you are both member of any religion. We are the one responsible in all our doings and undertakings while alive on earth. We will be judge according to our individual performances.

It seems to me that what you have left is organized religion, not God. If you have left God you would not give thanks. Religion is man's invention and has very little to do with a higher spirit. Blessings

Leaving a religion is not leaving God. God is not in many religions. If reading the Bible knocks you out then when you wake up thank God for a good night of sleep. Sleep is very important and if reading the Bible knocks you out, that is fine. All the best! PS I read the Bible in the morning and it is fascinating. I ofter read it out loud and put the feeling in the reading that it deserves. I have a goal of reading the whole Bible every year and it is the most delightful thing that I do every day.

A Christian is impelled by nature to meet with other Christians to worship God, petition Him, have the Bible opened up to them, and have fellowship. Obviously I can't tell you the nearest place to you where this can happen, but I know of some. http://www.CubaoRBC.org is worth looking up, particularly the resources page http://www.crbc-ph.org/index.php?/crbc_resources (It is unlikely to happen in a Roman Catholic church or in any church where the Bible is not the supreme authority).

Let always an open door between you and your Creator , and you trust He will open to you all the doors , God very near His servants He Almighty say in Quran : [2.186] When My worshipers ask you about Me, I am near. I answer the supplication of the suppliant when he calls to Me; therefore, let them respond to Me and let them believe in Me, in order that they will be righteous. " [40.60] Your Lord has said: 'Call on Me and I will answer you. Those who are too proud to worship Me shall enter Gehenna utterly abject. "

In those years that I was learning bible doctrines, I came to realize a very important aspect of having a relationship with God. I learned that it's not about religion nor good works we have done but it's our trust to what Jesus Christ had done on Calvary's cross, which gave us power to become children of God. When a person come to decide to trust Christ, it's not about having a religion, but a relationship with God. A believer can slid back to a state of unbelief if he chose to but if he truly trusted Christ, there will be no turning back whether in good times or bad.
