Spent Weekend in Bed

I felt just odd but hadn't really realised that it was exhaustion. The lunch last Friday ended up with 14 guests and we had a fantastic time but I had worked so hard for two days cooking and preparing for it. But it was oh, so worth it. Made new memories etc and I have to tell you that I received so mnay compliments over the food I served.
But on Saturday morning I just did not feel well. Must have looked awful as my son called my daughter who came post haste with my quasi adopted daughter and they just took over everything from caring for twins and cooking and cleaning.
I was too tired even to mylot although did respond to one or two posts. My son postponed meetings and left today for the city after taking the twins to school and waiting for the lady who helps me to arrive.
I feel better today but have agreed for my daughter to make an appointment with cardiologist just to make sure that all is okay as my chest is sore. I guess that I just 'overdid it' as my GM would have said.
Have you ever felt so tired that you could not move?

Hope everything is okay with the ticker! You should have taken it easy though I know how it is when you get company. You just want to make sure everything is just right. When I get overtired I get sick to my stomach and then I have to stop and sleep. Its been a while since I have felt that tired......but I totally understand why you were all tuckered out!

Perhaps if something like this luncheon comes up again you may want to allow your guests to bring a dish each.

I am delighted that your luncheon went so well, but sorry you overdid it. I admit to being tired, but not as tired as you. I sometimes work demanding shifts. I have been sound asleep for over two hours in the recliner, as I have worked every day for the last nine days and I have shifts every day until I leave town again. Now it is time for me to get up and cook. Old Tiger cat and I have just snoozed away today. It is really great that you have family who can or will come help you.

Sometimes it is just an hour or two for a paid meeting, and then one of my coworkers had exploratory surgery so I covered some of her shifts. The shifts can run anywhere from four hours to nine hours. If they were all at the same time of day it would not be bad, but I worked Sunday 5 pm -11 pm, then got up and was in to work before 6 am. I will go to work at 3 pm tomorrow until midnight. I had had a week off the previous week for vacation. I am going on a shorter trip for four days after the meeting I have to attend on Wednesday. Wednesday morning I am taking my sister to a get acquainted appointment with a doctor, you know, life just keeps happening. I would love to think of you being out in the garden enjoying the late afternoon. Sounds beautiful.

Whoa there! Nine days without a break? Surely that is too much to bear? Do you then get a week off or something? That is way too much work.
We had a wonderful time but as my house is small, I had to be super organised so it didn't appear cluttered and I had planned the menu carefully. We migrated to the garden after about 4pm when the sun was not hot and then spent another few hours chatting there and oh, did we laugh! The stories that were told and revealed and the gossip! It was crazily wonderful.

Glad you are better now Cynthiann, you must have really worked hard to be in bed all weekend.
It only takes me one day to feel better. Now that classes have started, I am still doing physical work, (cleaning house, cooking meals) but another energy drain is reading, especially boring reading and the reading I have to do in these classes is enough that I am really tired by supper, but have to force myself to stay awake to cook and eat, and then to bed. It isn't until Friday, when I take the day of rest, that I get a good nights sleep and feel better again.
I think another energy drain is my Sociology class, it is sooooo hard...

Oh I forgot, you ordered that book..That was for my Western Religion class and so far one of my easiest, I am already done with this weeks work.. ;)
I would have had that book read already except I am taking notes along with it because I either have to write a reflective paper or take a quiz, so regardless which I choose, I should take notes. So it was really good? I love how he "stoned" people, I had to stop reading I was laughing so hard...

You can do it because you are brave and so motivated. I couldn't wait for you so read the book but will not discuss it with you until it is time for you to read it. Seems light funny reading but it is serious on a different level. Can't your husband help re coking or housework? You do need a little help for you to succeed without being totally exhausted.

Yes, he writes very well and humorous too but the ending got to me -not satisfacory but then life doesn't end the way we may want it to end and this applies to books too. His wife was so long suffering but understood his need.

Regretfully, my bp is high again and it shouldn't be after open heart surgery. This is why I will see cardiologist hopefully next week.

You know you should not put so much pressure on yourself. Please take care of your blood pressure. My husband is also now diagnosed with high blood pressure. Remember it is the bottom number that should be monitored. It should never reach 90-100. that is what they told my husband...

Your son is obviously a great man, and you like to help, but is he putting too much on you? Is all of this going to affect your heart? I can't do anything about your situation, but I worry that you are not being taken care of completely. I know they came through for you, I just hate that it got to this point.
By the way, did you ever get my Christmas card?

You sent me a card? No my dear, it has not yet come but it probably will come one day. I will check where I used to work as they said they had mail for me. I do have help 5 days a week with the house and cooking and washing for children and this does help but I still get tired. I now try to rest about 2 hours each day as I need it. You are sucvh a good friend

i have fibromyalgia and have often felt like this after over doing it. if i lay down and just rest for a little while, then i feel better. however, in saying that, i just found out that something is wrong with my heart as well. i always seem to be out of breath so now, i have to take it easy or i just feel exhausted.

I have fibro too, but fortunately not the fatigue part of it. Painful back muscles though, no fun.

I think often that may occur from high pressure, try to always and consistently that you notice the pressure, especially the figure below, which should in normal circumstances no more than 90.
I've got a big problem in the pressure, where the figure may reach down to 100 or 120 and I do not feel any signs of this pressure, and doctors considered that too dangerous, which requires from us in this case to be strictly monitored permanently.
I hope you health and wellness

Hello my friend,
Hope everything is Okay now and recovered already for being too much tired.
By the way, are you working in a hotel? If that so, it's normal to work in any hospitality industry. Specially during peak season and the occupancy is negative.

Honestly, I've never really been so tired that I wasn't able to move. However, I have been so tired before that I could have mistaken myself for being narcoleptic. This last happened to me during the fall when I was helping my friend with her transportation for work release and I was pretty much going on just three or four hours of sleep five days during the week. It was during that time that I would fall asleep on a dime.

sometimes, there are some things like this, you know when you just want to take your day off and sleep.. everything so lousy looks like you are paying for a week of hardwork and labor.
Yes, I wanted to sleep the whole day.. nothing day.. we call this as Lazy day... even taking a shower and brushing teeth you would rather not do.
Yes, your body wanted to take a rest, then take a rest.

I hope it is just fatigue and nothing to do with your heart.
I've been feeling very tired myself lately. Hubby is battling some sort of cold or flu type of thing, I'm hoping I'm not getting it.

I hope you are not getting sick too. You are always full of energy so be careful. I have just checked with health insurance company and will have to wait until February 1st before I get 80% coverage. I need an echocardiogram before the Dr. will see me and this costs me US$200 after insurance pays their bit. So have to wait until February as I do not have US$1000 to pay for it. I can wait until February and the echocardiogram will show if anything is wrong.

a pleasant day cynthiann,
with regard to the situation that you have encountered, well, i have been into that situation wherein i was too exhausted then when i cooked foods for the christening of my niece. although i just want to lay in bed for a one whole day after the event. since i really feel restless and it is very tiring. however despite of the tiredness, i am one of the happy person during those time since a lot of visitor loved the food that i have cooked. and i feel great for that.
