That is very rude of them to lock your apps. Well the best that you can do about it is to really format your PC and never work with adworkmedia anymore. I think that is the best option for now. I think once your pc is compromised there is little that an anti virus can do anymore and he more you try to save your pc the more they will take control of your pc.

You are right his pc is compromised here with that survey thing and I think he should only go for fresh installation of windows on his system. I think he was not using any good antivirus and that is why he fells into this trap because if he had one then certainly had given him warning about this survey thing and may be blocked it from accessing. That's why people should use a good and trusted antivirus and update it daily.

Now that is some serious stuff done by that website on your computer. I will advice you to do a clean installation of windows by formatting your C drive. Then install a good antivirus like Kaspersky etc which will save your pc from future infiltrations. And if you really want to do surveys then look for legit and reputed survey sites on the net and I am sure you will find many.

I find that people who do this to your computer are really bad people. They locked your computer and want you to do something that will benefit them. What about you? What do you get? That is like putting your computer on ransom.
When this happened to me, what I did was to create a new user account. Fortunately for me, my computer has more than one user account so I use another user account to create a new account and then I just delete the account that was affected. Usually this thing only attack the account that you're using. A new account will not be affected. You don't need to reformat your computer.
In future make sure you back up all your files into another partition on your computer. This way when you create a new account you can still have all the apps and software that you frequently use.
