Can you type eyes closed?

Sometimes I can... but I'm not a pro at it.

I probably could type with my eyes closed. Sometimes I do look away from the screen and type at the same time. I learned the type-touch method so I have the placement of the keys memorized. I know of a fellow who is blind and could type. He had a job that involved talking on the phone and had to type while taking product orders. So typing while having eyes closed is very possible.

I cant type on keyboard with my eyes closed because until now I cant master the keys but I can do it with cellphone keypad.

Hmmm let me try. This right now is my typing with my eyes closed. It's licky I learned speed typong and touch typing. Now I will open my eyes and see how many typos I have. Note, I am not erasing any mistakes here. Woah! Yep. I can type with my eyes closed. You can type with your eyes closed if you learned touch typing, that is you don't look at the keyboard when you type. Let your fingers do the rest of the work. You will make tons of typo though if you have not practiced enough. I know a lot of internet people can do it.

No. I can only use the number pad without looking...

I surely can type even if my eyes are closed. I can even sense that I am hitting the wrong button in the keyboard. I achieved this through disciplining myself in not looking at the keyboard and constantly practicing this so called touch typing.

Hiya xoco, I can type with my eyes closed but I would rather type just without looking its much quicker for me. If I put my mind to it I can type very fast without looking at the keyboard but I have to have no distractions around me and not be too tired either. The top line I have typed with my eyes closed and this line as well. Takes practice but I do not have that kind of time to do that but I do keep it going. Great exercise to keep you alert.xxx

Yes, I can. In fact I do not look at the keys when I am typing. I was one of the fastest at typing class before and I am using home keys so that accounts also for my speed. I can type very fast without looking at the keys and with no mistakes as you can see here.

I can't type with my eyes closed, mostly because I can't reach all the keys.

Hi I would not type with my eyes close. I make to much spelling mistake with my eyes open. this what I do if I'm on line for to long I take a break and walk around,go outside if the weather nice.ok have good day

Anyway that is good sought of idea. Sometimes I just used to try it but it don't work correct at all the time. When I type a sentence by closing eyes I could find mistakes in each if the words but I am quite sure that I could correct if I practice it.

I took up typing lessons during my high school days and once I got the hang of it, I can actually type with my eyes closed. The key is memorizing the key positions and you can compose in your head, close your eyes, and type away. I'm doing it right now. :)

yes of couse i can do that in my dream,hahahahah.kidding....,no is really hard for me to type when my eyes is closed. i can do but ithink is not acurate is i do with open eyes

They used to teach people to type while they were reading from a notepad or something. You were never supposed to watch what you were typing, but you were supposed to check it when you were through. It's not that hard if you just practice at it. I'm not sure about compulsory because not everyone uses a computer all the time and it would be wasted training.

I haven't tried typing with my eyes closed but I can type without looking at the keyboard. Try to relax and have some break like 10 minutes every two hours of sitting in front your computer. It's not good to stay long in front our computers and staring the monitor screen for a long time. Avoid washing your face after long hours of staring your screen monitor too- that will help you to take care of your eyes.

typing in keyboard with eyes close?? ahh. somewhat i can..but get some errors.. but still tolerable..

Hi xocolatedrool, my eyes hurt too as i also spend a lot of time looking into the computer. Especially now that i'm working as an intern in a research company. andfor 8 hours the whole day, i just stare into the computer and i think this is extremely bad for my eyes. I'm already wearing glasses and my eyesight is not very good. I'm really worried that my eyesight will get worse and i definitely don't want that to happen. As for typing with my eyes close, i think if you are able to type without looking at the keyboard, then you'll be able to type with your eyes closed for a short amount of time. For me, while I was young, i had a computer class which taught me how to type using the correct fingering and therefore i'm able to type without looking at the keyboard.

Yes I can but in my cellphone not in my keyboard.

i am typing with my eyes on the keyboard not on the screen so my eyes don't hurt a lot
