Eating Healthy?

Do you try to eat healthy? I try to eat fresh fruits and vegetables every day. I had a salad for dinner and an orange for breakfast. I don't cook my vegetables, just cut up vegetables that my husband and I like for 'veggie sticks' and with a ranch dip, they are tasty. What do you do to eat healthy?

Wonderful that you get fruit once a day Hatley - for that is what we need hey! Carrots are EXCELLENT and contains beta carotene. I have a small glass of carrot juice every day. I agree that the broccoli should be still crisp when it lands on our food plate.

I used to eat alot of vegetable in every meal. I advice my wife to prepare food which is rich in vegetables not only meat. Sometimes my instructions not followed because she is pregnant and most of the time she is lazy to cook our meal. She asked my younger brother to do simple menu.

My way of getting my fruits and veggies is to drink them. I make what the call a nutriblast, and they are so good. what I do is use the nutribullet, which pulverizes the fruits and veggies, and liquifies them. Of course I have to add water to the cup, screw on the blade, and put it on the machine and let it do is work. It is amazing how it pulverizes them as I like to watch them being liquified. I make mine thicker as I like it that way, and it is because of the banana that I add to it which thickens it and also sweetens it up some. I am getting all the nutrients and not losing anything, as I don't throw anything out. The nutribullet is the vest investment I made for my health. Take care, and have a good day.

You only eat raw food? Since I am really interested in that although I don't think I am able to eat that way already day in and out all seasons (it's freezing over here). For breakfast (never had one) we have fruit, sometimes also a smoothie (although I kind of doubt if that is still healthy but I want my daughter to eat fruit as well which she never did. This morning I gave her apple, grapes and orange to "discover"). We skipped all the flour/bread/pasta etc out of our menu (although 2 of my daughters still get it once in a while, my son and I not we have the most allergies of the family). We all eat rice-toast. Once in a while we have cheese or egg or some meat. We do eat once in a while potatoes bur more frequently rice. We eat mainly green vegetables but also some carrots. No pasta anymore, no beans, no cookies, chocolate, candies, soda, coffee or milk. Once in a while some yoghurt, mainly we drink water, white or green tea. I try to keep as much toxics out of our food but must say it's hard over here to buy enough fruit/vegetables for the whole family. It's kind of expensive, I need about 50 pieces fruit for 1 week.

My son and I usually eat fruits. We also eat rice but not much. I like to try salad for meal. It seems healthy. Thanks for this.

mebuhalog, oats in the morning is wonderful. I also add some crushed flax-seed over it. My doctor prescribed NO MILK or CREAM, so coffee are black and bitter... haha! I have heard too that it is better to have a cooked meal in the afternoon, rather than at night. I think that is for digestive purposes.

I usually have an apple and orange every day, but sometimes my veggie intake only consists of potato chips.

I am trying to eat a bit healthier. LIke not so much processed food..more making potatoes from scratch or eating more salads....which I love by the way! I also love veggies.....just love them.

Just like you, I try to eat fruits and vegetables as often as I can. I have also tried cutting down on my rice intake. That is really what makes me "big". I am hopeful that I could lose some weight.

I always try to eat healthy. When snacking I try to go for fruits and veggies that I can munch on instead of pastries and coffee. I also try to prepare most meals from scratch rather than opening cans and boxes of pre-made soups and sauces and sides. I also make sure I have tea and juices and water instead of pop.

I love veggies and fruits too. I eat more fiber and less red meat. White meat is good but some kind of fish is only allowed because of my allergy.

Sometimes depending on my appetite, if I feel eating chocolates I'll eat chocolates, but I eat veggies and everything but not some uncooked food.
