I find it lovely to listen to music on the radio when I am driving along in my car. The radio station I usually listen to regularly has a time tunnel in which they play music from the past. Today on it I heard Michael Jackson's Beat It.
When I am walking along I listen to dance music sometimes on my personal stereo. I find the music uplifts me and lets me enjoy the walk more. Some of those tunes I dance to twice weekly at a dance class. I take care crossing roads and have the volume low so I can hear traffic approach.
Which sorts of music do you listen to when you are driving? Are you keen on the music from the radio on a journey? I have ever walked along the road listening to music?

I used to walk listening to music, songs in fact. The problem I faced was that I could not resist joining in and as a result I did not hear people walking behind me! It was a little embarrassing on occasions.
I've often thought it was hazardous to listen to music when riding a bike, and I've seen quite a number of people doing this. As a cyclist I was always listening at the sounds around me and behind me in particular, because one is so vulnerable on a bike.

i like to listen to music while i am walking. my music tastes are all over the board though. i like big band, jazz, classical, some of today's music, Christian rock and classic rock. it depends what type of mood i am in as to what i listen to that particular day.

If I am driving alone, I definitely have the radio on. I'm the sort who will sing along to the music as I'm driving, too.
If I'm traveling with my boyfriend, we usually have the radio on. Of course, we don't always agree on stations. Some horrible song will come, and I'll change the station; he will then promptly say, "But I like that song!" We do share some similar taste in music, but he has a greater tolerance for singers I'd term "bimbos."

I don't drive, but when I am in a car, I always turn on the radio or pop the cd of love songs or listen to some new wave music. It makes me alive!

as for me, yes i enjoy and like to have some music playing while driving on a car, usually it is a mixed kind of songs from a cd or on a radio station, i think it makes the ride more relaxing and fun. but i have never tried listening to music while walking along the streets, i can see some people with earphones on while walking on the street, also it is best not to turn on the volume loud if ever because we will not be aware of everyone or anything around us.

I listen to lots of different music; my interest is pretty diverse. Right now, I have the Vertical Horizon on my player. Tomorrow I might have Earth, Wind and Fire. Sometimes when I am just tired of listening to music I just tune in to the news. Good thing that my car have some radio controller on the steering wheel so I don't have to look down and fiddle with the car stereo, I can just press some buttons in the wheel and I can surf the stations. Yeah, I don't usually drive without the radio on, especially if its a long drive.

It is lovely to listen to music when I am driving or walking. I am usually listening to music almost all the time. There is no specific music. If the radio station is on then I wont change it too often or if the playlist is there it is on shuffle and it just goes on. I am just addicted to music.

Hi maximax
It is good to hear music while walking but while driving out of 100% i will avoid 60 % of the times because some music will make me feel sleepy and some musics will make me over energetic ( like back street boy's , Show me the meaning of being lonely etc ) and i will drive too fast in over energetic condition to avoid these i will listen very less and try to avoid more .

I can't drive a car. When I'm travelling in a car, I like listening to music, especially top40, as... well, I'm a bit weary and get bored easily while I'm in the car, and I can become a little sick and weak, too, and fast-paced music takes my attention away. But if I drove the car, I'm sure for the first months I wouldn't listen to music, because I would be too afraid that music would distract me and I hit something.
As for public transport, I sometime slisten to music, depends on my mood. I'm either in a (book)reading or a music mood, the two won't work together for me. As for walking, I like music. Usually I listen to faster paced songs, because those fit my mood, because I usually am in a hurry. But I prefer slower songs if I'm just going for a nice walk without any time limits.

Well, I do listen to songs in radio or what stored in my mobile while travelling or walking for small distances.I like songs from 80 and melodies one.I am not into heavy rock or pop.I love songs of U2,pet shop boys, backstreet boys. But then mostly i listen to 80s songs or retro hours in radio.Currently i do not drive to office. While i was driving i listen to radio songs and if things are in my taste, i would listen to ones i keep in store.Currently, i do the same.I listen to radio songs and if none of the radio stations does not have anything in my taste, then i do not listen to any and skip to songs stored in mobile.Listening to the songs helps me to give a good start to the day.it helps while i am walking or doing some mundane job and while jogging or exercising. It has a good soothing effect on me.I guess that holds true for many people as well. But then like you, i do keep the volume low so that i am aware of my environment and is not completely into the song and disturbing others as well.Good to hear your experiences.Even i love Michael Jackson's Beat it.One of my favorite songs. Thanks!

I have a walking playlist!
You know those songs that you walk to the beat on. It feels nice to synchronize my walking to those beats, I use them when I walk to work, it sure does make walking to work fun and you burn extra calories too.

i always listen to music whenever im on my way to work. It keeps me calm because im always late for work hahaha.. People always see me on my earphone. i have it wherever i go. They sometimes laugh because i look like i have my own world while with them.
When im at work, its one thing that makes me relax.
I love listening to rock/alternative/metal/reggae and a lot more, depending on my mood..

I dislike doing it. While walking on the road it is dangerous to listen to music, this due to the fact that if someone behind you is going to attack you, you won't hear them coming. Or, if a car is coming behind you and it is about to hit you, you won't hear it coming or honking at you. But if you are walking in the park or forest it is OK to do so. :) As for driving, I cannot concentrate really well if I am listening to music as I get absorbed in it and forget that I am on the road. lol

dear, yes, music is my favorite while i'm doing housework, walking,or travelling. As a girl at my twenties, i love popular music, especially for rock. The ryhme makes me feel quite happy and sometimes may sing with the music i hear, also when i'm blue, lisen to my favorite music will allow me to calme down and get over.
