One man went to a lady bathroom, is that allowed?

Today while I was pumping the gas at quick trip gas station, I went into the store to use the bathroom. The bathroom door was locked, so I guess someone is in there. So I have to wait. There came another guy behind me, and he saw me waiting, he just went to the lady's room, and turn the door knob to see if someone is in there. The door is unlock, so he went straight in. I was like, can you do that? There was a big tall guy also standing there; and I asked him, can he do that? He was joking with me and said "this is America, you can do anything." I was like "really? I won't do that." That just something seems abnormal. Would you use a lady's room while someone there watching too?

If there is a way to lock the room I don't think that it is a problem. Let me give you another example. In my country there are many dormrooms for students that come to study from another city. Some of them have their own bathroom in their room, some of them have 2 bathrooms for the entire floor: one for ladies and one for men. The bathroom for men is cleaner than the one for ladies. That was a big surprise for me. So everytime I have to visit a colleague living in there and I have to go to the bathroom I use the one for man

If you really have to go and no one is in there why not? Just lock the door so that a woman doesn't get a surprise.
When I went to graduate school we had a lab that was up on the third floor in an area that wasn't used much. There were two labs there. A girl worked in one and we were using the other. The only rest room was a ladies room,. The nearest men's room was a floor below or way on the other side of the building. Therefore we had a signal. If the light is on in the ladies room, do go in.

I think it's okay. As long as it wasn't already occupied. After all, when you gotta go, you gotta go.
I'm female and I've gone into the men's room when I've felt the need arise. Haven't done it often. Fortunately, no one came into the room while I was there.

Why not? Why is the ladies room different from the man's room?
I mean unless there was numerous stalls I would go in.
I remember the coffee shop I use to work in the police would come in with about 10 of them, they would use both male and female washrooms. Most of them would state the female's is cleaner.

well, as long as there is a lock and it's a single room which you can use, I can say, why not? In my office of 1st floor there are just a single room each for male and female bathroom, and many people used both of them not suited for their genders like female using male's bathroom and male using female's bathroom, it seems the sign there doesn't needed.

Actually no. I do not care if it is now allowed under that stupid transgender rule, the only reason for a man to go into a bathroom that is shared by ladies is if that is the only bathroom in the gas station or if there is a sign saying the men's bathroom is out of order, and they have to share. I do not care if someone is watching him or not watching him, he should not go into a ladies washroom even if he has shaved his legs, has falsies on, and is wearing a dress.
There might be children there and elderly ladies and one of them might be one of his older relatives.

American gas station bathrooms are usually a small room with one toilet and a sink. He would not have been in there with any females, assuming he remembered to lock the door. Obviously he had to go pretty bad if he couldn't wait for the men's room to be opened. I certainly don't expect anyone to stand there and pee themselves for the sake of a room.

I would have been as much as shocked as you were. But I'm sure that guys do that all the time. Now that I being that I am a woman would I use the mens restroom if there was someone using the ladies restroom. No, I guess I would have to wait. But I guess that guy really had to go and he could not hold it, so he figured since there was no one using the ladies restroom he might as well go right ahead. But yes, I guess you can use the restroom in the ladies or the mens if no one else is using it, being that it is only for one person.

In case of emergency I guess I can do that.
There's one fastfood here wherein they have a common restroom for both gender.
Actually I found it uncomfortable at first- imagine going inside the cubicle with a guy standing behind- or going inside the room after one man coming out :p
I was so hesitant the first time- and I admit until I am not comfortable with it, but if there's no choice (why not)

If there is only one rest-room and everyone must share, I am sure there is a lock on the door? It should not be a problem.

Yes I would. I don't see anything wrong with it. It is a bath room and since no girl is lining up for it, I can use it.
I've done it with the men's room on more than one occasion. I also used the ones for the handicapped. Girls usually form long lines, women take more time in bath room after all. So when I noticed the guy's rest rooms were free and no guy was lining up, I got in there.
I don't think there is a law that states you can't do that. It's not evil. You have not done anything wrong to anyone. It's not against the ten commandments, so it's alright. it might raise a few eyebrows though, but who cares?

That is insane. That guy must be gay. Because i have seen gays enter women restrooms. I guess they are interested this way. Well whether it is America or any other country. Guy definitely should not enter girls restroom. I mean what does that really mean? I don't find that normal any ways.

Hi Kingparker. I am a woman and when I got to go I got to go I can't hold it for too long and if I am at a station where the ladies room is full I will go into the mens rest room . Some times I will walk out and see a man standing in line so what if you got to go you got to go. I have bad kidneys and it is hard to hold.

well, for me that is not right for a man to use or enter a ladies bathroom, he was crazy why he do that, or we are never sure maybe he was gay or something so he wants or feels to use the ladies bathroom,.also we'll never know what a man is going to do there inside..
