Does a full moon really elicits weird behavior

Does a full moon really elicits weird behavior? Do some people get wilder when it is full moon? I asked a friend who is assigned in a Mental Ward and she said, they are more attentive during full moon, for many strange events happen. I asked if she believes in it. She admitted but just based on her observation. What is the mystical power of the full moon to induce erratic behaviors?

@Mavic123456 I have heard of this before too. I've heard a saying for as long as I can remember that "when the moon is full, all the lunatics come out." And funny enough people say LUNAtics. Luna = Moon.

There has to be something in it as the Moon seems to control the tides of the oceans all over the world. People do get and act a bit more out of character sometimes also.

Yes, some people are obviously reacting differently during fullmoon. and we could easily recognize them.

For me I think there are some people who are sensitive with the gravitational pull of the moon. For us majority we do not usually feel the effects of it but there are select few people who seem to get agitated with it. That is why we call them like lunatic persons. I do not know if there is scientific evidence to prove this but this is what I think it is.

@Mavic123456 Well I do not feel weird when the moon is full. I am not even aware of it anymore since living in the city the moon is just an ornament in the sky that most ignore already. But there are others who really get in bad mood or just plain agitated by something around them.

Yes this is right. I agree with you. Are you sure that you are not sensitive to the gravitational pull of the moon?

i had to come to this discussion because i have heard the same about everyone during a full moon. not just mental ill. ive noticed everyone acts crazier so i see it has to do with water in the body and a magnetic type force. hhhhmmm . great to know. thanks

I am honored that you found this discussion interesting. Yes, Vandana explained it well.. water, magnet and gravitational force. what other things those "everyone" do during full moon.

The reason for this is because astrologically speaking the moon rules your institutions such as hospitals and prisons. At this time you will also find that the activity in these and other institutions will pickup and peak on the day of the full moon.

@Berardesco: I agree. On another related topic, the father of medicine, Hippocrates, even said this: "He who practices medicine without the benefit of the movement of the stars and planets is a fool". -Hippocrates and this: "Touch not with iron that part of the body ruled by the sign the Moon is transitting", -Hippocrates I have read this from a book by Linda Goodman a year ago but never got to finish the said book because the real owner had to take it. Anyway here's more additional info from a Hub Pages site (http://astrostar.hubpages.com/hub/Astrology-and-Surgery-When-Not-To-Perform-A-Surgical-Operation): "His observation states that one should not perform a surgical procedure with a knife (iron) on any part of the body which is ruled by the astrological sign in which the Moon is moving through at the time. For example: When the Moon is in Taurus (ruler of the neck and throat), one should not perfom a toncillectomy. If the Moon is in Capricorn (teeth) or Aries (head), one should avoid dental procedures, or any surgery related to the head. If the Moon was passing through Scorpio (reprodutctive organs), one should never have a hysterectomy or prostate operation."

Yes, sir, i think it has been considered for long time, but truly can not be explained and proved scientifically. Do you think it is practical for such institutions to put like a chamber free from moon gravitational force. I don't I am thinking something like that... "like the red wall" so that the neighbor can not get free wifi.

Interesting topic indeed my friend. Does it really happen? Maybe moon exerts some kind of power to those mentally challenged. We never know how their mind works. It it said that all genius people are crazy.

It is not essentially the mentally challenged...everybody's mental powers are challenged around that time. In India that is the reason such a day has been isolated as a special day to perform functions and considered auspicious as otherwise, people would be working as usual and cutting each others throats may be..:) More seriously...the world comes under the influence of some sort of magnetic field around that time due to intensity of which there are changes in the overall ionic movements in EVERYBODY's body. There might be places in the world where the intensity of such a feeling is more, and therefore, many people from there exhibit such behavior. However, I do believe that there is some gravitational force or magnetic force that shakes up everything inside us. Magnet has been used in various therapies, and results have been positive. So yes, there are fields that we cant see but they can affect us in a way we have not yet clearly defined. One such thing is sounds that we cant hear. These can make us hallucinate...that is one of the reasons that many homes are considered haunted even though they are not.

I think that full moons effect everyones behavior. Whether its so slight that we don't realize it, or it maybe very obvious. I've been told by Doctors that more babies are born during a full moon, and police say that they get more calls during full moons. But then again there are many unexplained things that go on everyday, it makes for an interesting topic and just about everyone has something to say.

Our behavior is related to the phases of moon, it is the the nearest celestial body close to earth, the gravitational pull causes the tides in oceans, it controls the menstrual cycle in women, most women have their periods near new moon and full moon, being a women you must be aware of this, you can check this from next month. The moon effects our behavior, go to any mental asylum, you will find some most aggressive and some very cool on these two days blessings

I don't know if there is proven related to being insane. But the characteristics of mental disorders shown some kind of being afraid to something, it could be the moon. Could it be a mythological beliefs?

Yes it was just a myth. Until now they just relate this myth to water in the body and moon gravitational power.

I thought full moons are for werewolves. I don't think it affect humans in any way. Maybe it's just a coincidence that there are moody or wild people on full moons. It's suppose to be a romantic thing for couples? On a beach? walking hand in hand.

I really don't know if it is true there are words I heard regarding the matter but I don't believe on them for it is normal for even normal people to react and enjoy during full moon. It is somewhat a blessing looking into a blue skies lighted with cool and wonderful views. However I noticed other living things is also with different reactions during full moon. The sea urchin for example during full moon the content is full. The crickets are more noisy during full moon and it is less catch of fish during full moon. These observations are really interesting but their is no scientific research made to explain all these things.
