Ever bought medication online?

Netherlands

I wonder how many people do buy medication (free of prescription) online. And if how difficult is it? Can you trust them all? Will they deliver or just keep the money? In my country (the Netherlands) you can buy a lot at the supermarket or drugstore without prescription but it's not exactly the same as the doctor once prescriped (less % of the active/working med is in it). It's also hard to get from your doctor what you need (many times he gets payed to force you into something else that is nearly, but not exactly the same). There are countries where you can buy every medication you like as long as you pay. There are vets who can give you exactly the same medication for way less money as your doctor/pharmacy will (give/sell). Do you have the same experiences? Is that a good reason to buy meds abroad online?

I would never trust buying meds off the internet as you never know what they really are. There was a thing a few years ago that people were selling viagra on the internet and they were nothing like viagra at all and did not contain nothing at all that would help. I am also trying to save money, as I have other things that we need all the time and things that are going up in price seems to be happening all the time.

I am more thinking about ordering meds online you need frequently. So a way to safe money since it can be way cheaper elsewhere (by the internet you can search if you go to your pharmacy in your neighbourhood you have to pay what they ask, at least it is like that over here). Must say I never have had experiences with meds sold online that were fake. Although I have plenty of doubts about what the pharmacy is giving now and in the past.

Online shopping is a good way of getting your stuff but shopping online for medication without prescription is not a good idea. It's just like risking your life and putting it in danger. In my country, it's illegal to consume medicine without prescription.

I don't mean to buy everything that pops up in your mind but meds you might need on a regular base. There are plenty of chronic patients who need do have their meds (Always the same) daily. It can be interesting to order them online. I can't see the danger in that, just a way to safe a lot of money.

I am not ashamed to admit that I bought viagara online, and I was very impressed, both by the cost, the delivery, and how discrete they were, although it was obviously for my partner, it still arrived in a non-descript package without identifying what it was. I guess it can be hit and miss, but I was fortunate, mind you it can be bought on Ebay. It depends also on the medication you need.

Did you buy it at an online shop/pharmacy in own country or abroad? I wonder if we are allowed to order it abroad, but it's worth the try if it would be something I need plus way cheaper.

I guess it's only usefull if you know what you need. Not if you use it once in a while.

I never tried to have some medications through on line. It is better to avail over the counter, at least we knew where it comes from. Though it is far better to get prescriptions from doctors in the hospital facility.

If you get a prescription it's from your own doctor, hospital has nothing to do with it in my country. You are even not able to go to the emergency room yourself if you did not councel your doctor first (who is only working from 8 am till 4pm) They say it all (medical health) is costing way too much but fact is most meds are cheap not Original anymore and no patient knows the exact price or if it's a placebo or not. If you want the quality med you can't get it if the doctor refuses (doctors are payed extra too if they prescribe meds of a certain company, so it's interesting for them to do so, thousends of extra euros at the end of the year. It works the same with vets). The pharmacies make a great extra income too, so it's not about health anymore but about making a big extra income.

Do you have good experience with them? Can you give (mail) me their name plus the reason why not in your own country? Online in my country means: order at your own pharmacy and go over there and wait in a long row. It's not what I have in mind if it comes to buying online.

Thanks for sharing. BTW I find it hard to find out if the online pharmacies are way cheaper (as many claim to be) as over here. The thing is we don't see prices anymore. We go over, get the med and the Insurance will send you the bill for it sooner or later (mostly it takes a month or longer). Years ago the price was on the med printed but the insurances don't like us to know what the prices are (we all need to have a health Insurance by law plus you need to pay the first 350 euro yourself or even more if you want to pay less each month to the Insurance company). I do wonder how come there is such a big difference in prices since mostly they give us the generic meds over here as well who are way cheaper as the Original ones.

Personally it would really depend on what the item is. Most of the medications I use, there is no way I would trust buying something from another country for. I would be afraid of the quality and be leary so for me, it is best to stick with my insurance, and get the things here my doctors prescribe.

I have bought herbal medicine, but that is because some of the herbs are now offered in the health stores here - especially if one is trying to fight getting diabetes. They want you to buy the pills that after a while lose their effectiveness so that you will eventually get to use the needle. I think if the medicine is not allowed even though it is more effective is a good reason to buy online, but you have to know what you are getting. I would rather use herbs then get a prescription.

I ordered some herbs too but they are not seen over here as medication. I started with it because of a friend but after receiving them I found out they all are not that healthy at all or kind of "fake" (the way they dried them for example). I do think it's cheaper as in the shops if you take the time to find the right ones plus the right shop. I would prefer herbs as well although I have to admit I don't know much about it myself plus not every herb is of a help if it comes to our health. Might be it will in time.

I never have done, but I would do if there was something I needed. The biggest hurdle would be knowing exactly what it was that I needed.

Hi, I don't buy medicines online. I always buy medicines from store by showing prescription of the doctor. I don't know it is wrong or right to buy them online. I used to buy some general medicines from medical store for simple cough, cold, fever etc.

I have never bought medicines through online. I go with the doctors prescription and buy from the pharmacy. I think a pharmacist can only tell us about the right medicines.
