Here some fast food places are cheapier, but a meal can range from $8 - #20 for 1 person.
The odd time I will treat myself, but very rarely. Plus, I have to be iin the right feeling, or my stomach will turn upside down.
I know a few people who go out to eat almost everyday, I use to work iin a franchise store, and saw people spendig $5 - $20 a day going out.

I too make it a point that i eat at home daily. But it comes a time when i happen to get things from out mostly for my dinner. But now days i have stopped eating out and just made it a point to cook at home itself. But today i had from outside as it was a weekend.

No, it is not worth it, but marketing and advertizing do what they can to sell us on the idea that it is. "You deserve a break today" was an early slogan, and the impression that we cannot go run errands without treating the kids is really popular. Commercials also do what they can to convince us that it is so much trougle to pack a lunch. I imagine most of us throw out enough leftovers in a week to make really good lunches. I have come to realize that by the time I get in my car and drive to a place to pick up a burger and fries that may or may not be good, I can make one and clean up the kitchen and I will know exactly what I am eating.

Here in China, the average set meal at either the McDonald's or KFC is going for ?23 to ?34 where it will include the main order of a burger, fried chicken or rice dish, side order of fries or soup and a soft drink (medium size). It is an individual serving with a portion considered suitable for small and average eater. For a big eater, the diner will need to have an extra main order making it an average ?50 to ?60 to quell his/her appetite.
Most of the working class would usually be bringing food from home in Tupperware or dine in local eateries which costs ?8 for a variety rice box set or ?15 average for a group sharing the bill in a small eatery where you can enjoy 3-4 vegetable dishes, 1 soup and unlimited servings of rice. While if one has the desire to splurge a meal at a Western restaurant will cost about ?30 to ?60 per head for a meal of Roasted Chicken or Steak Specialty. Compared to the fast food restaurant which is serving processed junk food these local eateries are both healthy and nutritious. So, I do agree that fast food restaurants are really not worth the money.

If we're going out to eat, we're not going to a fast food chain. There are enough nice places in this region to which we can go where good food is served.
No matter where I am, I always know where to find the good food. That is one of the first things I do when I get to a new place--or, sometimes, even before I get to the place.
Of course, I cook most of our meals. It is a lot cheaper to prepare meals from scratch than it is to dine out. Tonight, leftover homemade tempeh chili and bread from a local bakery is on the menu--a healthy and inexpensive meal.

We try not to have fast foods, but admittedly we go every now and then because it's all too convenient. IF we go, we try to aim for healthier choices (if there is such a thing) and going cheap . . . like not getting the meal deals (we don't ever need the soda). I couldn't eat fast foods all the time, oh my stomach will churn and I will feel bloated and sluggish. Plus if it's filled with MSG, I will pay for it with a migraine-like headache.

Quite common for me. I always spend $5-$30 a day going out. I think it is OK.

Well, it is ok or even fine. But the question is, is it worth it to spend such a certain amount for eating out?

People evaluate it differently I guess. When I choose where I want to eat, I choose the cheapest place but there's also a lot of other factors that could be considered. A restaurant can be in a nice location, have a nice view, have nice funiture, be playing nice music and/or have nice service. It's not always the most expensive place that have the best things but I understand why some people would want to go to restaurants on the pricier end.

I don't know, but I am recently getting swayed into eating to such fast food chains almost everyday now. The convenience and ease of location with our workplace is the main factor of eating on them. However, I really starting to feel very unhealthy eating such processed foods so I can't help myself search for some home cooking at certain times of the week. If only such home cooking are accessible in the urbanized areas, then I will surely be on the lookout for such.

me and my husband can go and get food from McD's for two people $8 and under. When your poor some times when you have no food but small amount some times a cheap meal like that did lots when I pregnant with my daughter not so much with my son. We eat there maybe once or twice a week some times but not always. There are times where we never go at all. My husband works at the mall so fast food for him happens all of the time since it's easy for him to do.

We can have a meal as low as $2 in Mc Donalds here in our place. That would be a burger, fries and coke.

$8 * 5 * 20 = $800 for working day only ... regularly must be spent more than $8 if minimal spent for $8.
many people here too have the same habit, they only thing this cheap for only one time, but they buy again tomorrow, and the next tomorrow, finally everyday they spent their money.
i think too many rich people right now, and they dont care the price even when get discount with more package like buy food get free drink..

I think you can carry a homemade lunch with yourself if you don't want to spend much and also want to take care of your stomach as well. Also what i think is that a person should not spread the feet out of the blanket. I think you can understand what I'm trying to say...

I am a student. I am not allowed to cook in my dorm. So I always eat out. I agree fast food places like McDonald are expensive. Luckily there are much cheaper places to eat. But fasts foods are unique and has its own value. So its kind of difficult to completely avoid them.

Fast food is rarely worth the money. I will admit that I eat fast food more than I should because it is more convenient for me when running between jobs some days. I don't really have much time to cook on the days when I am working both jobs and I really don't have time to eat at work either, so a burger in the car between jobs sometimes fits the bill.

There always seems to be the regular at a fast food chain. Or even at a restaurant, we had one that came in like every week, sometimes several times a week.
Even the same at the grocery store I work at, we have some people who come back every day, buy one or two things...
I don't understand that.
Yes Fast Food is expensive, terribly so. Not to mention unhealthy.

When I was working at a call center, I used to be eating at 7/11 everyday. Their meal doesn't taste that good but it was the nearest place where I could eat. The food being sold in the office isn't that much. And since there are a lot of employees n a specific company, the food is not enough to serve a lot of people.

Where I live, there are places called hawker centres and food courts. Food courts are air-conditioned and slightly more expensive, but still cheaper than fast foods and restaurants.
Hawker centres are non air-conditioned, so the food is cheap. The more important fact is that most of the delicious food are those from the hawker centres. As often as I could, I would frequent the hawker centres over the others. A decent meal would be about 4 to 6 dollars (food + drinks). I only go to food courts, fast food and the occasional restaurant when there is a need for celebration in the family.

You can buy expensive things that you can buy but you can not happiness. You can buy bed but not sleep. You can buy food but not appetite. Yes it is worth if it equals the enjoyment, happiness and satisfaction.
What do you mean by "I have to be iin the right feeling, or my stomach will turn upside down"
