hi my lotters, i think all of you have social media account like facebook or twitter, but many people make their account for some different reasons, one of the reason is to keep their status up to date, so my question is why do people like to share their status on social media?

I don't know why some people like to share a lot and update their status to the extreme.
It's annoying sometimes, but I just ignore those post.
I agree that we cannot avoid reading or seeing those post and sometimes flooding in our page- duh..I have a friend in my list who keeps her status update every minute

I mainly use Facebook for my Childcare Business. I don't go on there much and I definitely do not update my status! I think that is a bit childish but I know some people constantly have to tell where they are, what they ate and the last time they used the bathroom, how ridiculous!!

People likes because they have nothing to do at that time.So there share their status so that other responds and then they again responds or see the responses of people and passes their time. Its one way to keep one self busy.
The second part of sharing is that people wants other to know about their views ,thinking and their current work or where they are.Its a litle bit madness but not to that extent.I think they are made for these purpose only because there are many people and their different views,so they are made to fulfill the necessity of each person.
And if you are talking about someone writing some Quotes every hour then according to me they really don't have anything to do and someone having craze for that thing. That's why I told you that different people, different thinkng. So its the best way to judge the vividness.

most of the reasons stated here by out mylot friends, i think are true... mostly though people share everything just to brag about how great and good their life is - trying to get people's likes and recognition that wherever you went or whatever you did is approved by your peers (yeah that is usually what the like button is for).

I have a brother who is always on the road. Right now he is traveling to different countries. Some of which we are warned is not too safe for foreigners to visit either. He updates us about where he is and where he is going next so we don't worry about him. It can be for important things like that.
I think others are bored, want to share their thoughts and get a conversation started, get likes, popularity, etc.

People have various reasons:
1. it is used as a business tool
2. to let family and friends know what is the latest thing happening to a person
3. to just want to share what is on their minds, not necessarily wanting to connect to anyone, but merely expressing themselves.

It is a sense of belonging to their other friends to let them know what they are doing, where they are at. If only they knew they are forgoing their privacy and lots of information for free, maybe they might be more discreet.
I don't do as they do, but I do not have any negative opinion of those who do.

maybe because the facility on sharing your status is there? maybe people nowadays are just outspoken. they want everybody to know what's happening to them in their everyday lives. I also do that but not to the extend of doing it every hour or every day. But if there's something special that happened to me or some funny things happen to my kids, I do share it. Maybe because I am proud of my babies.

Some people are too expressive and want others to know their personal activities in life, resulting that they post a lot of contents over social media.
Another factor is that some are overwhelmed by the hype on social networking sites that they don’t even bare knowledge on responsible usage of social media resulting on putting too many contents on their social networking accounts.

I now write down my daily on the social website.
I do think I should keep my privacy, but in real life, my mother always cleans the house and throws the things ,which she considers useless, away. I find that I can not keep my daily for my old life in notebook, I try to keep it in the website. When I want to look back to my past, I have a way to find it back.

Many of them do it to boast or brag of recent accomplishments. The best reason should be to stay connected with friends and relatives. However, I find a lot of people misusing or abusing social media by making it the recipient of their garbage, to flaunt their achievements, etc. I hate people who always tell everyone that they are in the best of everything.

People usually post statuses and updates to keep in touch with friends or family. Sometimes to make others laugh.
