I am already sick paying taxes. The national government collecting taxes to businessman by monthly, quarterly and annually. Aside from the national treasury, our local government also collecting us different taxes and fees. Can you imagine how huge amount of money our national and local government collecting us. Wow, maybe that is the reason that there was showering of funds in the senate which not a natural rain it is man-made did by our senate president. Almost all senators receive bonus or so called office maintenance fund. Damn!!! Are they worried about the money how poor people working hard to earn but the government asked share from it to maintain our infrastructure and some projects that people will benefit. How can our countrymen benefit if they give our money to individuals for their leisure and extra curricular affair. This good business with our politicians encourage all people around the country to run for any position in local or national offices so that they can also harvest the funds that politicians harvest from the tax payers in every term of office. That is the reason I really hate politics. All kinds of waste and dirt's are thrown. Even though politicians have good motives at the beginning while still aspirants but later on they will be influence to do corruption. Now, beginning of the year and last week of filing our business permit. I pay alot of fees before we can continue operating our business. This year corrupt officials will be happy again for another year of abundance while millions of people suffering from starving of their stomach because of financial crisis. I don't know when the corruption stops, thousands of new officials take oath after elections that will again danger to our economy.

The only people really affected by these taxes are us middle/working classes. The poor pay little to no taxes and yet they get the full attention of the government. The rich have their ways to pay little to no taxes with their businesses and financial tactics. Now do we get our money's worth? Heavens no! But look on the bright side, these politicians' hold on their riches are only temporary. By embracing their god of gold they've sealed their one-way ticket to damnation. And their lives are very fragile for there will always be people out there who are out for their heads.

One of the reason why rich people, known businessman will run for any position in our government is to keep away themselves to the taxes.

Taxes are inevitable... we cannot run away from them... i just wish that i live in a country where the people do not pay income tax... i wish that would happen in the Philippines but that is like a faraway dream... I still have hopes that PNoy's daang matuwid would fix the problem on corruption... so that the taxes we pay would go to where they are intended for...

Yes I know, it's our obligation to pay taxes regardless of period but the government should think how hard to find money and they are getting part of it to spend unwisely and more of the funds will got to private pockets.

But when we think of it, we should actually must not be dismayed by the tax we are giving the country as it is for the country, for infrastructures..for buildings, for welfare.... BUT then again that was me giving you my wishful thinking. if only we have free health care, free medical treatments in our government hospitals, free education in public school, wonderful infrastructures and the likes..and thats me again with my IFS. the thing is, our tax is even low, some countries have 40% tax.. yet ours is only 12 % and people are already killing each other for it. imagine how many people wants to fun for congress!!! how i wish they remove all pork barrels and i bet no one will ever want to run for congress again! now i am thinking of Enrile again and his cash gifts to the senate, how i wish he didn't do that, instead he could have given the money to some poor or something. sad reality. but is happening. and if there is one thing we should change, it should be the mentality of those in the government offices.

OMG! If our taxes reaches to 40%, all politicians become more richer. They will eager to run in any position because of the funds they will get while seating on their respective offices. Even myself I will run for local position and aim to become senator someday to follow the steps of Mr. Enrile.

Hello Julyteen, this reminded me when we were renovating our front yard and converting it into a business rental lease. my mom had to pay extra for the trees that were cut down because of environmental issues, but the truth is it could take days so the staff of DENR who went there just settled it for extra cash. same goes with the "architectural designs for the lease" she had to add up some files there too. No wonder a lot of people run away from the country and instead face hard social problems while working abroad. because there's no job opportunities here, and more corrupt politicians and it's govt. employees. I guess i shouldn't vote this 2013, just to relief myself of the stress of what policitians are gonna do after i vote for them. yeah, ill just think of it as another day.

That would be an ashamed to all our politicians who are thinking their own, better know corrupt officials. It's hard to identify whose doing good in our government lately, most of them are pretending good but deep inside they are selfish enough and running all taxpayers money and put their own pocket. I think I skip 2 times elections, I didn't vote
