Do you go window-shopping and buy online?

Nowadays more and more people in my country like to shop online. That's good. But the problem is, many people go shopping, try clothes, bags, and other goods of expensive brands, memorize their Article No. and then they return home and buy it online. There're online shops where they can find someone to buy for them at a discount price. Sometimes they would save a lot of expenses. But somehow I don't think it's moral, and unfair to the chain stores. It's reported that their sales become much lower these years because of online shopping. Another problem is, some online goods are just lame imitations of brands, and even if they have a good quality, it's still hard to identify whether it's certified goods or not. Would you buy online if you have the choice? What do you think of the phenomenon?

Well,i was aware of the window shopping and online shopping combination.I never did that.I do online shopping and perhaps more it lately.I do not think online shopping gives you products which are lesser in quality. If you buy from trusted brands and online sites, you are bound to get the genuine product.Besides, most of them comes with warranties and guarantees and even return policies. So that could not be any lame imitations. Next thing is the big discounts online and they are pretty good from consumer point of view.By the way, many of the retail stores and shops have started their online websites. Its really helping their business.Plus they are able to share more of the things and offers online and attracting a good consumer loyalty. If others are not doing it,its because of the lack of things or they are not aware of the trends.Online shopping is definitely rising and only thing is we need to adjust to the times.I have done online shopping and have only got genuine things.I have been very happy with all my online purchases. But this could be because i bought from trusted names online and so my experience has been great.Well, glad to know your tthoughts.Thanks.

Yeah, you've got your points clear. Online shopping is more and more popular nowadays, and if we are cautious enough we will surely get the most ideal items online! Thank you for sharing your analysis and experiences;d

Good day Sarahliuliwen, There are times I go on an online window-shopping though I never experienced buying directly to online. As I am quite hesitant to do the shopping of my clothes online since the size might not fit me.

Yes I often have similar worries about the size and style things. That's way I'm very cautious about my choice. Sometimes online pictures and their descriptions of items are so appealing that I might lose control;)

I do sometimes visit a store to check if a certain product appeals to me as much as it appears to do online. If I am buying a product such as a laptop or or camera, then it is easier to check the comparisons online then confirm the physical appearance of it in a shop rather than by photos. I have even done the reverse, looked around a store for the most appropriate model, then looked online for the best price available.

Yes I do that sometimes. I have a baby and baby stuff are a bit expensive, especially if it is imported from another country. For example, a feeding bottle that we use is worth Php1,000 in the mall but is only Php800, shipping included, when bought online. If I'm going to buy 5 of these bottles then I already saved Php1,000 for that purchase. It's called saving money.

Hi, I still prefer to shop downtown even if I have a thing or two purchased online in the past few months. What gets on my nerves is the waiting and wondering if the item I have paid for shall arrive or not, is it the right specs or just a product of my imagination after viewing the picture online. I am used to the traditional way of buying where I can actually see the item, handle it, test it in real time, give the money to he cashier and going home with the goods in hand ready for instant use. I am also leery of the hidden costs that may be imposed by import duties and shipping charges and I can see that I may benefit more if I have to wait it out when it shall put on sale down at my favorite store in the mall just a few minutes ride away. For me, there's no better way to have the item on hand and carrying it home right after parting of my hard earned cash. I can always go back to the store with the warranty certificate in case of defective items, sparing me the hassle of having to send it via snail-paced post and wait for another eternity to resolve the issue. Sorry, online shopping is not for me here, for now.

Wow that's a very adequate explanation for your preference, thanks for sparing the time considering about that. I like your wording, the words used are very appropriate. (Don't feel weird about my compliment;) English is my foreign language) PS I love to have the real item in hand after paying cash, too;) xoxo~

Actually that is a good thing for us,because when the chain stores face the competition with online shopping, they will try their best to low down their prices then as customer we can buy stuff in a lower prices, that is the market economy,we can not say it fair or unfair,we just need to get used to it and face the challenge and make us more stronger.

Hi Sarahliuliwen, I like go online window shopping on stuffs that I'm interested It there is any. I would like to compare the price in the offline stores. If the price is more or less the same I definitely will buy it from the offline store. I like to bring the item item bought instantly after the payment. I don't have to wait for days for the stuff to be sent to the doorway I would purchase online if the price is very much cheaper than buying offline. Happy posting

I also like shopping online much more. Since there are more choices and the price is much more reasonable. Usually I will not buy too expensive goods, especially for something like LV bags. I am not interested in the luxury stuff. Sometimes if I see a product in the real store and I like it, I will check its price online to see whether it is worthy to buy it online or offline.

I shop online for a few things such as books, DVDs, and some of my crafting supplies. I am in the process of starting my own online business in late February or early March and want to make sure I have my supplies so I can keep ahead and make things. Sometimes buying things online is a great way to save money and gas in the car.

I tend to do that, because online is a lot cheaper than buying in the store. My Mom wanted a TV show season, Person of Interest and I found it half off online and was cheaper to get it off the internet because it was twice as much in the store.

I sometimes do that, but I do most of my shopping offline. I just like that experience. But even if I do online shopping, I wouldn't go into a shop, try on clothes or ask the helpful assistant to talk about that certain camera, and then shop offline, that, well, is really immoral and dirty for me. But if I see a book on a blog or thw window of a bookshop that seems nice, I'm gonna order it offline, because it's the same thing, and bookstores nowadays are really expensive. The same goes for make-up. There's the brand NYX in the US, and it was brought to my country... just because of the customs, the brand is uncannily expensive here. Not to talk about that in the certain stores carrying it the certain jumbo eye pencils I'm looking for are usually melted, so evenm if I wanted to by them offline, I couldn't, unless I was so stupid to shell out that money for a spoiled product. But otherwise, I'm not really buying any stuff I could get by going to the stores.

Most of the time I buy online now. And I think it is good and the price is good too added the convenience as well. I think it is good to shop online especially if one is looking for the branded ones.

I buy things online like clothes, bags and shoes but not all the time because I don't really trust online stores that much especially those who are just founded through facebook fan pages and doesn't have and official website or store.. I only buy things online that won't affect my health because there are some online stores that sells vitamins/medicines/beauty products which we don't really know if it's legit or not. I don't literally mean that anything that is displayed online is not safe but what I'm trying to say is that we must be a wise buyer so that we won't end up being cheated on.

It's not unfair. It's called "competition" and a good portion of the time, things are cheaper or easier to find online. I do this all the time. I'll see something in a clothing store that I like, but I search for it on Amazon to make sure I can't get a better price there. And usually I can, because there is more than one person selling the item.

I used to be hesitant to buy things online because I'm afraid that I might not get the stuff I bought. There was this instance that my husband can't find a certain laptop part in a low price (the item seems to be overpriced) anywhere in local stores near us and he found a site that is selling the said part at a low price online and he bought it. The item was successfully delivered and in good condition. After that we made several purchases online. We usually order for things that are hard to find or less expensive. So far our purchases are all successful and the items are really nice. I often buy stuff online for my son (toddler). It just a bit hard to buy clothes since you have to look for sellers that includes the exact measurement in the description. It would be bad if the item/s won't fit since you have to return it if possible and much worse is if you cannot.

I always biy things this way.It really saves a lot of money. The clothes in a shopping mall doesn't worth that much amount of money in fact,so I always thinks it silly to pay such high price buying that clothes which can also be found on internet. And I do not care about the quality even it is fake, actually no one can tell it is fake or not.

shopping online server good. it is both time as well as money saving. apart the best part is that one can look for all the brands and designs under one roof or rather say on one site. its really fun. apart the option that has made me to go towards this is the option of cash on delivery and the exchange policies.
