i bought my mobile phone last october 8, 2008. yes, it's been more than 4 years old and it's still working. there are a few scratches but it's still efficient in doing it two main purposes: texting and calling. anyways, i can buy a new casing it make it look newer. i've already replaced its battery and bought another charger 'cause it was broken. it ahs internet access but i rarely use it. it has multimedia player and has space for memory card. it really is a useful phone.
i'm not the type of person who would want to buy the latest gadgets. i admit the price is a big consideration. i'm just practical and i believe i take care of my things well. as long as my phone serves its purpose, i don't see the need to replace them immediately. anyways, come three months, there will be a new phone model in the market. just buy something that you will use for a long time.

Like you I am not mad after latest gadgets. My cellphone is now 4 years old,but it is functioning well and so I am not going to buy a new cellphone now.It would certainly be a wastage of money. My cellphone has various features like camera, internet facility etc etc,but I use my cellphone only for talking to my friends and relatives. Some of my friends buy all latest gadgets.I don't do so.I would not buy another cellphone till my present cellphone is functioning well.

i'm really not into gadgets just for the sake of riding the bandwagon of hype. it's just pure waste of money.

My Father also does that. He used a Notebook Computer for about 7 to 8 year before he got a new one. The New one is also about a year or two now. I emulate people like that. Nokia is a strong brand name. It is strong, durable and long lasting. Well, I am use a Blackberry phone now. The Phone was given to me by my Big Brother. The Bluetooth and scroll is bad. I was thinking of buying a new android phone, buy with this post I think I should better repair it and change the case.
Take Care.

maybe you should ask how much it would take to repair your phone. if it's quite expensive, i guess it really is better to buy a new one.

it is still good and you are ok with it then you dont need to buy a new one. i used to use one cellphone for 5 years. I had no idea to buy a new one but a thief got it.
I have no idea to spend money to buy the latest gadgets also, i am ok with any cellphone, even it is old.

my cellphone will be 6 years old this March, i bought it last March 2007. the battery is still the original one and it also serves it purpose of calling and texting, also u can use internet on it. it has few scratch but the the number and text pad has some scratches already on it due to pressing and texting..it still looks good and like you i really take care of most of my things especially gadgets so the rarely get lost and get busted. just as long as it serves it purpose, but with enough money i would love to get or try new phone models too..just to see and try them. why not?

I have just replaced my old mobile, it was not so clever as yours as it was around 9 years old so it was only good for making and receiving messages, but it was a sturdy phone.
I replaced it because it was rather heavy and large compared to the ones on the market now. My new phone does much the same thing as my old one but I don't think it is going to last so long as it feels rather fragile but it takes less space in my handbag and I think the sound is better. I shall store my old one away in case I have to resurrect it again if the old one lets me down.

the new phones today as i've noticed are more fragile than those issued years ago. maybe it's the strategy of the developers so they would break easier and people will be forced to buy new ones. whatchathink?

I have a handphone which already 5 years old too, but it has been broken recently so I bought blackberry. Well, my 5 years old handphone brand is Nokia. This brand seems to very durable and nice to use. However since my friends used blackberry in order to be able to have blackberry messenger, so I bought blackberry for the new one. I don't really a gadget freak though, I buy gadget just for telecomunication usefulness.

Great!! We are like-minded, iluvusabado :)
I too believe in not using anything unnecessarily just to show-off as prestige! I also naturally take care of my possessions well, may it be books, gadgets, clothes or anything and use them for long time or recycle them.
I lost my first phone, the second one was unrepairable and now havin my third one which i've been using for 1.5 years now, and i've no plans of changing it, in spite of slight glitches it has.

most people tend to buy new gadgets because of the hype from the media and other people as well.
i really want to take good care of my belongings as much as possible. some things you can still pass on to other people.

It is good that you don't waste your cellphone as long as it still works well. My cellphone was bought in Feb.14,2009. It is a smartphone and the operating system is WM6. Although it seems it is outdated now, but I have no plan to change it since it works well for me now. I bought a 7" tablet instead. I can still use the latest apps.

My present cellphone was bought by my mom. It is more than 5 years old I think, but it works well. It is Nokia 5230, using symbian system. It was very quite popular when it came out, many people around me chose it. Now as the symbian became history, I may have to change a new one to use some new apps.
I love it and I hope I can still see Nokia in the future.

Hey even my phone is old now, almost 4.5 years. I am really a gadget freak though, but i would not buy something that is just out in the market and i want to buy it to show off my capability to spend. But i buy a phone seeing its feature, durability how much worth it will give me in long term. And will i be able to cover up the money i spend on it, by making it useful for a very long time. And i think i present phone has passed all the quality tests for me. Now i am waiting for collecting the right amount of money so that i can buy a new phone soon. My only favorite is Nokia. I love it because these phones are very strong and their features are awesome. Even if you phone falls down 4 to 5 times nothing goes wrong. Where as in others you have to guard them with your life.

My cellphone is more than 3 years old. I buy it in 17 October 2009. It still can use it even sometime i accidentely drop it at floor. My cellphone is very useful to me. I not always use it to call someone or message someone but most i use it to mylotting and facebook. I want to repair it at cellphone repair shop but i still dont have money yet. Port for charger is broken. It cannot detect when i'm charging using charger adapter.

i think some phones are really not that expensive today because of the competition in the market. if the expenses for the repair and new charger is somehow pricey, i suggest you buy a new mobile phone.

i remember my years ago when my cousin used the old model of 5110 nokia phone. she really loved it since it's sturdy and not easily broken. but when the time came that she has to buy a newer phone model since she works in the office and her phone has to be more presentable.

Its totally depend on the person to person as some person just can't use single phone for a long time and hence they keep on buying and selling the phones due to their curiosity and some people just love their phones too much that they stick to it for a long time. So nothing wrong in using it for so long as it is serving your purposes well. Well price can be the factor in some cases but I have also seen some people which can buy any latest phone easily but they prefer to stick to their old ones.

. Wow you surely know how to value your possessions. Not a lot of people give importance to their gadgets. Anyway they can replace it with a better model after a few years or even just months. My cellphone is also old, though I have a new one I still prefer to use the old one because it more comfortable to use. I also do not need the other features or applications.

i also just want a simple phone. buying a very grand unit would be eye catching for snatchers and other people with bad intentions. so i guess it's also for safety purposes.

I had my mobile hone when i got to college and i still have it until now. it's an LG phone and it still looks new-ish.. since i just use it for texting and calling too. I am quite lazy to buy memory for it since if i do that i might do more with it and it might get used too much .
