Heres a true story of terrible customer service: We've been going to this bakery in our neighborhood for a while now, never had a problem. Today I go there, order some donuts and 2 coffees. They had to make more since they were out. Not a problem. But, problem #1- this lady from the back comes out w/a box, opened mind you and places the donuts on the counter where theres high traffic. 2 ladies behind the counter were serving other customers while I was waiting for the donuts. 2 people then came into the bakery who I learned happened to be 1 of the ladies family. The lady who served me finished w/her customer. The box is STILL open. That lady leaves the counter to greet her family that just came in, greeting them right in front of me. This lady KNOWS Im waiting for my donuts. "I" dont know my donuts are ready, but she did. Im thinking, the box must not be mine cause they wouldnt make me wait like that. Well, that lady was STILL w/her family and the other lady called me for the box, which was still open! I could NOT believe it. The lady that was waiting on me couldnt even finish serving me before very rudely visiting w/her family, RIGHT in front of me! I was upset. Not only did she make me wait longer than needed which is unacceptable c/s, but I requested splenda on the side for my coffee and she didnt even do that. The box of donuts didnt get closed till the other lady finished me up. It was open that whole time. I called to complain to the manager. He was apologetic and admitted that lady who served me is not one to jump. Im not asking her to jump, just to finish serving me and give me what I ask for. Going back to that box, I was waiting for someone to either sneeze or cough in it. Next time we/I go in there, she will NOT be serving me and Ill tell her why too. Can you believe that??

Hello Jenrl I hope that you are fine! I cann´t believe it. She was so rude. When I was young I used to be patient with this kind of situations, now that I´m older, I just leave the place. I don´t mind if I´m looking rude. I don´t need to be humiliated. So in a proper manner I just leave them their products and leave the place.
This means more than a thousand words to them. It´s a lesson for them, and I don´t feel angry. It´s my right to leave them.
If they own a business they don´t have the right to humiliate us.
Blessings Jenrl... dainy

Hello dear friend Jenrl I´m happy to read you again. My mom would have complained with the manager the same as you did.
Well, it seems everybody in that business is not customer focused. They make a big mistake.
Don´t worry for them, they are the kind of business that will be closing some day.
I avoid returning to this kind of business where I felt humiliated, and I´m happy doing an effort to buy where I feel happy shopping, even if this means I have to move more than four blocks or more to reach them. We worth the effort! Good for you! You don´t deserve being mistreated for no reason.

Yes she was rude, and its not like its the 1st time Ive been a patron. Me and my husband have been going there for about 4 or 6 mos now and they know our faces. That makes it even worse! If me and my husband do go back (I was by myself on this visit) and shes there, I WILL tell her, "you know, you treated me very poorly when I was here last, visiting w/your family who came in while I was waiting for my order. You KNEW the order was done, waiting for me at the counter and you LEFT it there, OPENED, while I wait LONGER, unnecessarily. That is totally unacceptable." If she says shes sorry, I dont care how sincere, Ill say "I dont care that youre sorry. You didnt care that I waited extra long for no reason. You dont treat customers like that" and Ill be saying this in front of other customers so she'll also be embarrassed hopefully. You know I just thought of another thing. Im going to call that bakery up, ask to speak to the manager again and request that due to my problems w/that lady, that I be compensated for 4 donuts of my/our choice for free along w/2 coffees. Thats the very least they can do. Theyre successful enough, they can afford that. If he doesnt honor that, then Ill know they really dont care and I WONT go back.

Heres an update: called the bakery back to request a free order due to my exp yesterday and the manager basically told me to go "f" myself, stating (I cant believe this) that I wasnt patient enough! What?? Hes crazy. I was as patient as humanly poss, waiting till I was called! What the hell is he talking about! He was very much for his employee and made me feel like a piece of sh**. He was totally for and sticking up for his rude employee and told me to go to Walmart.?? What! What an idiot and obviously I wont be stepping foot in THAT place, again. There, the employees not only come 1st, but are ALWAYS right. Beware customers! Wow!

Yes I know. Even if good c/s wasnt a pet peeve of mine, it is still very unacceptable to treat your customers that way. I mean she greeted her family right in front of me! So not only was she 'saying' "I know your order is up, ready and waiting for you", opened still, but she also was saying "Im going to spend time w/my family right now and you can wait till someone else finishes up w/you". And the fact that the manager knows her behavior, hes saying to the customers tough crap, she comes in everyday so deal w/it. Oh, the more I talk about it the angrier I get.

Wow, that was rude. I can't believe the manager wasn't that concerned either from the sounds of it. I think the manager definitely should talk to this lady and at least give her a warning. I would be surprised if she is still working there in another month or so because you know she will do this when any of her family members or friends come in. That is just not the proper behavior for when working in a customer service field like food service.

I totally agree. In fact, when I complained in the beginning, he said how hes been in the business for like 8 yrs and when he became owner of this bakery he had to fire everyone. He added that his staff now, comes in everyday and his message sounded like he was saying that because they come in everyday, deal with it and when he added that shes not known to jump, I was like Im not asking you to either fire anyone or make her jump. Im just asking for simple courteous c/s and I did not get that. If I do end up going back there and if shes there, she will hear it from me. If she apologizes, depending on how sincere the apology, Ill tell her dont be sorry, just dont do it and my tone will reflect hers, but more stern. I am not happy right now w/that place.

I know the people she was talking to were family but she needed to wait on the rest of the customers first before going to family unless it was an emergency. She was very rude and not very nice in customer service. If this bakery has better products than any other in your area and you want to still go there like you said don't have her serve you. Just if she comes up to serve you tell her why you would prefer someone else to do it. She was rude to make you wait for no reason. you were first in line before her family. yes i know that was her family but they didn't need anything important or have an emergency so she needed to take the customers in order and not make them wait.

Yes, there is, but that bakery has better quality products. Too bad a bad apple may ruin it. If youre going to treat customers like that, youre going to lose business. That lady can care less what I thought or felt, obviously, and that alone will deter customers away. The fact that the manager even said 'shes known not to jump' states she has a crappy attitude and why he would keep her employed there I do not know. Theyre not THAT good of a bakery not to go elsewhere. Ill just have to pay a higher price for a lesser of a product :-(.
