Nowadays, sports are obscure. It is not that essential for childhood days.Recently video or computer games are very much important to them. But have you tried to ask yourself how athletic you are?Last weekend I went to an island hopping and had some fun swimming under the heat of the sun.I really do swam for it's been a long time. With that I notice I easily catching my breath and then i realized I'm not that good swimmer anymore, how bout you mylotters?

I am no athlete but, I never was. I do walk everyday. It's a great way to relieve stress for me. My son loves to dance and do karate.

I salute you for handling your kids well especially in involving sports where their generation is quite far before.I hope you will become a role model of some mother out there to encourage their children in sports especially kids who are really addicted in video or computer games.

I am also lacking exercise. I am not a very athletic person but I have my times where I feel like getting up and being athletic. But I always fail. I get tired very easily because I don't get to exercise on a regular basis. Whenever I do an exercise routine, I can't commit to doing it everyday or even once a week. I am so lazy when it comes to working out.

I would say that I am pretty athletic and I really enjoy playing a lot of sports and I wish that I had more time to play them. I've been working two jobs for about eight months now and am often getting sixty or more hours a week which doesn't leave me with a whole lot of free time otherwise. I try to play as much basketball as possible because it is my favorite sport and I just absolutely love playing it.
When I was in college I was able to shoot around whenever I had some free time in between class but I am done with college for the time being until I transfer after this summer. I'm hoping the new college I transfer to will have a nice gym because I also enjoy working out with weights and running.

I am not a athletic person but I am fit as the average person . I can run and swim without catching my breath because I play a lot so my body is used to that .

Kids playing games on computers is why they are suffering from obesity. When I was a little girl I was always outside running around playing games with my brothers and sisters. We would play cowboys and Indians, tag, hide and seak etc... Today you hardly see kids playing outside. I love to walk so I try to take 10,000 steps a day to keep in shape. When I was in school I was on the track team and loved playing volleyball or basketball. I think I could still be good at volleyball at my age of a young 56.

You are correct but under such circumstances I think we must blame parent also. It is parent who should tell the importance of doing exercise daily and I am sure then they will put at least some time in doing exercise

It seems to me that when I was a kid noone talked much about being athletic, bu all children ran and played in the streets when they were not at school or doing their homework. Now my grandchildren sometimes go to special classes if they want to be fit. It{s a pity. The clean streets of yonder were once a way of socialising too.

I am not athletic at all, as the only exercise i do is walk periodically, as I need my exercise and so do my dogs. Ia m 87 years old, so I can't do what I was able to do when I was younger. I am not for sports anyway, as I don't watch them, let alone participate in them. take care, and have a very good day.

I observe that too, i used to be able to do 10 laps back and forth on an Olympic sized pool when i was in high school, now i cant even do 2 laps. swimming is an endurance sport, it was an eye opener, i needed to get fitter.

Well as we are not used to with certain things then suddenly stopped doing for quite a certain time really gives a chemical reaction and sometimes complicate things. Just like doing sports, maybe if we stopped for a while we feel uncomfortable doing that again but it's just for practice I guess.

I am a very energetic person and am always outside. As a result of my outdoor activities, I have torn ligament and am wearing a cast on my leg. Its a 3 week rest so I've joined mylot. What you say is absolutely true as i have a neighbor whose kid is 10 yrs old and is always playing on his iPad. When I was 10, I had a life outside in the playground

We almost had the same life when I was ten also. I never missed any traditional games with my friends before. One of the most unforgettable thing I've done is when I practice how to ride a bike just with my other co-playmates. I was already quite big during my time so I really do had difficulty in achieving that goal, In fact I fall from the bike down to the hill and made me suffered from a sprain. However in return I 'm proud to say I able to learn how to ride a bike.

I am only as athletic as my Wii tells me. Last time I tried to ride a bike, I fell off, messed up my knee and landed in a poison ivy bush.

I have always been athletic growing up. I started dance and gymnastics at the age of 5. I absolutely adored it, and still do. I began competing at age 6. I find it easy to be athletic, as I enjoy most sports. However, I agree that nowadays less importance is placed on physical activity. I don't think that's a good thing, considering the increased rates of childhood obesity. Growing up, I hardly ever watched TV, and rarely had time for the computer! I was training every single day after school, as well as weekends. But I loved it. Maybe that is the problem with the current generation? They are not getting out and finding a sports they enjoy doing!

Your correct, with our generation involving sport is somewhat a boring thing to do.Most of us think it's not interesting and they'd rather play their computer games or having chitchat with their friends online. I'm not saying it's not good but sometimes we need to engaged ourselves in a more active activities physically.

The only exercise I get these days is being given the run around and jumping to conclusions. I like to stay like a coiled spring, just in case I need a burst of energy for something. This way I am well prepared. Mind you, the last time I was 'called into action' I did hear (and feel a 'TWANG'!) I am not sure if it was the spring, but I've definitely lost it from my step.

I used to be athletic when I was still single... I used to be a team captain of a women's basketball team. I was also a player for bowling and badminton for our company sportsfest. But when I got married and had 2 babies, I didn't have time for these things anymore. And I also got bigger already. I have joined some Sunday fun run... But I still wished I can have a regular exercise routine. Maybe if my kids will grow up (they are still 2 - going 3, and 1 yr old now), it is my goal to go back and be fit again.
It is also my goal to let my kids join in any sports activities so they can also have some physical exercise. Because I know even in school, kids are already introduced to computers. We even let our 2-year old join in the fun run so we can train him even as young as he is now.

I won’t consider myself athletic. I kind of bad with sports actually. But I agree that sports are good for your health if you do it regularly but it’s not my thing to begin with. But long ago I love to swim. And I also realized since I am not going for swimming anymore, I am not that good at it anymore, and I feel so cold to swim, looks like my body not as fit as it used to be or maybe I need more fat to feel warm when swimming since I actually eat healthy but not doing exercise as much.

Had a similar experience recently. 15 years ago on the high school swim team, I was in shape enough to swim 3 miles. Last summer, tried to swim 1 mile and failed...time to get back in shape!
