Dear Friends
In todays fast life sometimes we only have time to think what we are going to say and no time to listen to ourselves and in such situation we do not pronounce the words correctly .......
I sometimes find pronunciation is very important as small mistake the way we sing the word changes whole meaning and we end up in blunder .....
Do you want to share any tips to improve our pronounciation........
Hare Krishna

One thing that can help you is by reading a magazine, newspaper or book aloud. That way you are able to hear what you are saying, if the words was pronounced correctly or not.

It was how we were taught in our Speech class in High School. We were taught to speak properly and pronounce every word correctly by reading a few lines from a book aloud. Well, practice makes perfect.

In many countries people speak English (or French or German) and they will all pronounce the words differently. They all have their own "language"/way of speaking, pronouncing (dialects). So it depends on what kind of English you like to learn/speak. Oxford? Buy some language course/lessons on cd for example.

The best way I can think of is to watch movies in English. Preferably ones that do not include a lot of slang and hebonics. That way you can hear it spoken by native speakers while sitting back and enjoying yourself.
Another idea which may not sound quite as exciting is watching Sesame Street. I good friend of mine from Korea learned English from mostly watching Sesame Street. If anyone is unfamiliar with this show its geared towards children and often talks about simple English words, letters, and proper pronunciation of basic English.
Something else I found online was internet English classes with native speakers. I'm not sure how much they cost but I wouldn't think they would be that expensive. Many of these courses do not require a teaching degree and are being taught by native English speakers in their spare time.
My last suggestion is perhaps trying a language cd or computer program to help you. There might be some free resources online and of course there is software that can be purchased.
Good Luck with your studies.

To improve your pronunciation you need to learn how to identify the phonym ( the smallest unit of it e.g. g, t, k. Most native speakers I heard they pronoun evewry single sound. They join the sound and they cut the sound. You need to practice from youtube.com with British accent if you prefer.

Listen to native English speakers and you can do this by watching talk shows in English. There are so many good talk shows from which you can learn much about pronunciation. Then practice reading aloud as what other members have already said.

Actually, there are a lot of resources in the Internet that teaches you the words that most people pronounced wrongly. Usually, it's about the syllabus that you choose to place emphasis on. For example, protest is a verb if you emphasize "o" but is a noun if you emphasize "t".

You can start of by honing your knowledge with the english language and most especially talking and conversing to an english speaker.
If you have the budget, you can try enrolling to an english proficiency class and take up subjects that includes accent modification and accent training.
You can also join this voice chat community which is called, Paltalk it’s an opensource voice chat installer. They have open rooms such as educational rooms that discusses on english from basic to complex lessons.
Hope this helps…

Very few people realize the importance of of proper pronunciation and some don't realize the fact that they are saying it wrong. For example, there are people who pronounce "pronunciation" as "pronounciation". Some ways to improve pronunciation is to read aloud, converse as far as possible in English with people who are good at it.
Cheers and good luck

My brother is an English major teacher. He is so good in English though it is not our first language but I believe He has a talent on linguistics. He taught me a lot of things about foreign language. He said I needed to at least read an English article aloud for 15 minutes a day. He said that it is a good way to practice English pronunciation. I believed him so it became a habit of mine to read aloud. Just try it, hope it works for you.

Try to enroll on English Pronunciation Programs in you area. Me i just listen to news like CNN or other network. Try also consulting the English dictionary it has guide on how to pronounce the word correctly. Last few years i'm not also good in English, especially in grammar and pronunciation. Mylot help a lot in cultivating me in English, as you can see we reply the posted discussion in English, we can't use our own language because other well surely not understand on what we are talking about.
Just practice, practice makes perfect.

Try watching a lot of television programs in English, for example the ones from the US. Although pronunciations may vary from country to country, at least it can help you a lot. You can also enroll at schools that offer communication courses they there are workshops that will really help you learn a lot. So far, the cheapest that works best are watching those tv shows. Hope this helps.

You can look up the word in the dictionary. The dictionary gives a variety of information about the word. Including...the word broken down syllables, with proper pronunciations, different meanings, spellings, verbs, adverbs, etc... At the same time you can get all the information listed about the word to remember, read the meaning of the word, and everything about the word. You know the old saying,"look up a word in the dictionary three times and you will always remember it forever."
