The past three days, i attended a training / seminar on some work related stuff.. just here in my city. It has actually nothing to do with my current work, more like extra work for me to earn money. I used my leave credits to be able to attend that one, it is work investing as i did learn a lot. At first it is such an adjustment because it has been awhile since i have been in a school setting and absorb information in such a short period of it. It is amazing how our brain easily deplete or something, i mean back in college i could study for hours and absorb it all..but now it took some adjusting for me to absorb what the instructor is saying before it all sink in. The first day was the hardest as when i got home, hubby said the moment i hit the bed i was snoozing.. and snoring! i slept from 8 eve till 5am! that was the first after a very long time. I guess from all the brain work it tired me very much. But i am quite happy i did it again as i learned a lot particularly on investing and i also realized how much i miss school.

you sound like you really enjoyed you seminar. that sounds really cool. it also sounds like you learned a lot and it benefited you. i don't know how i would do if i had to be back in college myself. college was really rough for me. i had headaches all the time. tell me, are you thinking about going back to school?

First of all it's nice to hear that you enjoid that seminar so much. Secondly might I suggest that rather that just trying to sink all the info in, you could try making a mind map that helps you recall the information. This might help you to remember and make connections in between the stuff you just learned. Also remember to keep your bloodsugar up, because sugar is fuel for the brain. I hope that this helps you.

I went back to college 15 years after leaving school, I was a mature student, and I realized just how much more difficult it was, studying, having to concentrate and site and listen to lectures and research, I would get tired very quickly too, it was a lot to take in and it's true when you haven't been in a school or learning setting for so long it takes a long while to get back into the routine. It's like a shock to the system.

Well, your question is based all on one single factor that is: "you never stop learning." Now you have a job and you, should be happy (you know me at the ripe age of almost 38 years, I'm still unemployed!). You did very well to participate in these seminars. Even if they did they in a sense tired, they have served you because you have learned new things. Me too I miss my years in school. Too late I realized that I should continue to study to get at least a degree. If I could go back, I would planned my life completely differently!

true that sometimes there are things which we would rather have and regret that we didn't even do anything about it before..

Its not overload. Its just that due not using the part of your brain to gain knowledge for a long time, your brain is unable to absorb all of it and tires soon. Yes this post is making me realize how much I miss school :S Damnnnn
