Problem when shutting down mt Laptop......

Every time when I'm shutting down, it's showing "Waiting for background programs to close" message, but then shuts down without showing exactly which program is causing the problem. How can I find the program ?

I face this too and i have to go for forced shut down, it is better to close applications like yahoo messenger before shutting down.
