Our first little goat kid of the year has just been born. He's a little boy and is feeding well :) It's very rare I ever attach photos to my discussions, but today I'll make an exception! The sun is shining, Mummy goat is baaaing quietly whilst she washes him, and nobody here is doing any work! Have you any signs of Spring arriving where you are?

Yesterday I passed a flock of turkeys, and Mr. Tom had all his feathers up. I guess that's a sign of spring. Other than that, my daffodils are starting to come up.

Daffodils are my favourite flower. They're just so unashamedly cheerful.

Yey! Good job and good luck with the new goat kid that you have. I wish you more goats to come! How I wish I can feel Spring here in my country. Too bad, Philippines only have two seasons and Spring and Winter is not around!

I like having very different seasons as each makes you appreciate the others more.

What a little cutie pie! Signs of spring around here? After that humongous snowfall last weekend? Not so much, but it is melting quickly.

It's partly cloudy here today, which means sometimes the sun shines! Yay for that.

It snowed here at the weekend too, but I must admit that ours was a little sparse compared to yours. I'm very happy to see blue sky today. I was praying the weather would turn nice before the goats started birthing.

Gee today is the first day of winter here in Florida... This will be the coldest weekend we have had so far this winter...It does usually get colder, but this has been a warm on. The trees have all budded out and there are baby birds in most of the trees...

I actually LIKE having different seasons. A bit of cold in the winter makes you appreciate the springtime so much more!

I can't see him, but that's wonderful. May you have many more healthy babies and a wonderful Spring. Where I live (Far North Queensland, Australia), we don't have four seasons - just a Wet and a Dry. When it's Wet, it's humid, often torrential and sometimes cyclonic. We're having a mild wet this year, thank goodness. Bring on the Dry, though - the humidity is a killer! x

It's windy here and cold, but trying to be sunny. We had a slight snow last night. The daffodils are tiny, quarter inch nubs and that's about it. Soon, though, soon... I want some baby chicks!

Daffodils are my absolute favourite flower, but oddly I've never planted any here. Must remedy that sometime. Sadly my chickens are really poor mothers so I don't aim for chicks any more to save myself the heartbreak of them killing them. One day I'll change the breed.

Awww he is so cute, bless him, has he got a name? I noticed we had 14 snowdrops come up today, the sun was out and mother nature is waking up her wonderful creations.

Snowdrops? Fabulous. I've not seen snowdrops for years I don't think. my favourite spring flower is daffodils, they're just s unashamedly cheery. Little goat is nameless still I'm afraid. Perhaps I should ask for suggestions?

Spring starts on the 20th March here so we are still a month away. However, nobody has told the daffodils that are coming into bud. I had better get into the greenhouse as it needs clearing out ready for this year's crop of blight!

Daffodils are my favourite flower, just because they are so unashamedly cheerful. I realised when telling someone else this earlier that I have failed to plant any here at all. Something I must remedy I think! I so wish I had a greenhouse. It's a strange thing to be missing, considering what we do! If nothing else, it would be somewhere to potter when it's chilly.

Yesterday it rained and was cold and miserable all day. It was hard to remember the blue sky of the day before! Second little kid was born to a duller world.

Although it's a bit gloomy again today, yesterday was actually very nice. It was sunny the whole day, and a bit warm that I finally had to turn off the heater in the living room. I thought that if it isn't spring yet, then it must just be around the corner. Nice looking goat kid!

I have more pregnant goats so I'm looking forward to more babies over the coming days.

Oh I am sorry, on your other discussion about the little goat baby (the 2nd one I think) I asked for a picture because I hadn't seen this post yet. How adorable. Do you have a name for him? He looks like a "Macintosh" lol
@GreenMoo (11833)
19 Feb 13
He can be Macintosh if you like. He's unnamed yet, so why not? I took some photos of the other new one, the weaker one, last night, so you'll have to keep an eye out for my discussions later when I get round to putting them on the computer!

The little guy is sure a cutie. I remember when I first got my Pickles I carried him home on my lap in my friends ute. LOL. He is just over 6 years now and behaves like a rogue but he is really a big baby underneath his bully boy antics. Mum looks healthy with her full udder, do you use her milk for anything else?

OH...Lucky you...that little Billy will be way better than watching any comedy show...or youtube! My neighbours have always had goats..and the antics of those little mites are the highlight of my day. I can sit in my living room and see them in the pasture abutting mine....TOOOOO funny! They get my vote for hilarity...my sheep are quite placid in comparison! The daffodils are up about 8-10 inches (the King Alfred one's)...and yesterday whilst chopping wood...ONE little soft mauve crocus is blooming! Quite often the Muscari are blooming by now...but they did not escape descreation by the deer...nipped off right at ground level..dang! So have to get my butt out there and cover the hyacinths..the do not do well, once eaten by the deer! The older I get, the less endearing I find the deer! Spring has sprung...ENJOY!

He's not quite up to kicking his heels yet, but had a little friend born yesterday so I'm sure the two of them will be racing around in no time.

Somehow I missed this discussion when you first posted. This little kiddie is a cutie. I think we're still a bit of a way off from spring here in my area. Temp is going to be down into the single digits tonight and I still have to have my room heat on until the middle of the afternoon. Sun shining now but once it goes down, then the heat will have to be turned back on.

That's like us still. Blue sky and lovely and warm in daytime, but we've the fire on right now.
