The shih tzu line is acknowledge as being one of the oldest recorded dog breeds. It has been recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1969. Shih tzus are loving and loyal pets that are usually good with children, but they are high maintenance dogs with special grooming.It is like taking care of your children or you a baby. They are energetic, loving, stubborn and often demanding.having my shih tzu named FIFI, releases my stress and gives me the comfort everytime I went home. She is always there to stick to me wherever I go, which really touches my heart and realizing that I was never alone.

I love dogs, Ive had on for almost 12 years now. My rat terrier named tootsie. She follows me everywhere I go. Shes like my kids. Have a great fun weekend there, with your dog. Take care there.

I have a Shi-tzu as well and hr name is tippy. I didn't know they were the oldest breed of dog , but i did know they are very loyal loving and energetic. Very affectionate dogs. When mine wants to cuddle she jumps on her hind legs and whines til i pick her up. Then she crawls onto my shoulder and puts her head down. When my hubby comes home from work she runs barking to the front door and jumps on him when he gets home. She loves to play with anything and even takes the chew bone away from our other dog a German Shepard Chow mix. When tippy has to go outside she gets so excited and jumps on the german shepard chow mix named tabitha. Tippy likes to lay on mine or my hubby's stomach when we lay in bed. Tippy even likes to run outside and play with tabitha our other dog. So yes i agree that shi-tzus are very playful energetic and affectionate, but so is my other dog. I love them like i would my kids because they are family and mine and hubby's babies. Wouldn't trade them for the world.

Thanks for sharing your cute experience with Tippy. They are so lovely, isnt it? My Fifi follows me everywhere even when I pee or take a bath. and each time I blowdry my hair she sits on my foot.And sometimes I felt guilty because when I am too in a hurry and she kept on barking at me just to pay attention to her which I missed to notice her at times esp when I am too busy with lots of errands. But of course at the end of the day before I rest, I make sure that I play with her and cuddle her.
