Commenting Back Is It Necessary?

I observed most of the members here didn't comment back to their discussions that earns lots of respond. Maybe they are thinking that they cannot earn by doing so. I observed few of the members focus on commenting back rather than posting on different discussions.
Well, when you focus on responding to different discussions, your total number of post will increase but it's not a guarantee that we can earn more. In commenting back, your post won't increase but possibly your earnings will increase. Have you observe that in the activity did by some of our veterans mylotter?
Can you name some old myLotters who did commenting back more than posting to different discussions? I can name some but let me first know who's username you can reply here.
As what have you notice, my total number of post didn't increase rapidly. It's because I focus more on replying or commenting back to those who replied after my post, either from my own discussions or from another discussions.
What is your latest findings about myLot activities? Please let us share one ideas to another.

Yes, we do earn ... to whichever discussion we respond to. Whatever we type, we earn ... regardless of whether we respond on others' discussions or comment back on our own discussions.
In fact, I just comment back to a response which I got from an old discussion which is quite similar to yours: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2584425.aspx

It's not my intention to copy your old discussion because before I posted this one I use the search engine to make there's no similarity to previous post but unfortunately, search engine of myLot is not concise in giving us the answer. I used the word commenting back in searching but you post didn't came out. So I posted mine.
Anyway, I observe your discussion was a very long thread due to long interaction between you and the other members how give their point of views about the topic. That we can call a discussion if there are people join and give their opinions. To leave your post with out commenting back is not called discussions. And that's only my opinion. How about you?

I'm not saying that you are copying my discussion. It is just that coincidentally, I was commenting back to a recent response that I just got.
Probably it didn't show up in the search engine is because my discussion was considered an old discussion.
You are right. It is not a discussion if there is no interaction in it.

Both veterans are very active and I saw their discussions like a very long thread to a forum. It happened when I caught them the thread replied for over 500 post in one respond only. OMG! Excellent activity to both of them. Since then I followed their example.

This situation has existed as long as I can remember and is likely to continue because as members become aware that commenting does serve a purpose, other new members arrive who fall into the same trap. We have all seen many occasions in which a member has concentrated on generating discussions rather than making use of the ones they already have.
Not only does it help the overall participation and increase the returns if a member comments on the responses, but it also makes the discussion worthwhile. Without any interaction it becomes simply a list of responses and does not really qualify as a discussion.

I agree. What is the use of beginning a discussion if there is nothing to discuss. Then its just a opinion poll. I have seen discussions where one response becomes a big long discussion in itself. And on the other hand there are people who just dont comment back. I wonder why they even begin a discussion in the first place.

Probably they thought that they earn only by posting discussions and not knowing that they earn for whatever they type. I had that thought too when I was very new and only realized after reading others' discussions that I will earn more if I started commenting back to the responses I get.

Hi there July! How are you doing? Eell i would say that i am a user that focuses on responding to people's discussions... i sometimes make or create my own discussion but i have rarely returned and commented them back. However if you would have noticed... my discussions then and now i have tried to clear it out so that i would no longer have unresolved discussions. Hehe i just hope i would be able to keep it this way. =)
Anyway to name a few there are our friends, gifts and hatley and professor and letranknight that always comes back to their discussions to comment... i also notice secretbear to be doing this and i do appreciate they would even strike conversations and they sure give out valuable comments in discussions and comments.
I think there are more... but i forgot some hehe

I think you forgot mysdianait and Forever_The-Lamb, they are the one encourage me to comment back all my discussions and not let it hanging after I posted online. The 2 individuals I mention if you read their discussions it will create a very long thread that it's hard to follow.

You mean to say you are dependent on the post you did in every discussions to earn more? myLot is about traffic and once you comment back to all respond in your discussion it will create traffic for the site. More traffic more earnings for the site.

I seem to be more interested in responding to my friends discussions and responding back to the responses I get. I know out number does not increase like this, but is that what really counts? It does move up enough for me. Then you have those that start way more discussions then they respond to. I guess it is just up to the person and how they feel more comfortable.

hi julyteen I really really think its a must that its rude not to comment back as why make a discussion if you do not want to discuss something. I love the interaction and most people once they get into it really do too also for the poster its making good earnings and getting to know all your fellow mylotters too.

Honestly, if I am not replying to the comments for the discussions I started is mainly because I don't have anything to add to their views. Then by just saying "Thank you" will be not good.I too know that Mylot pays to the member by not looking on how their number of posts increases, but how a user spends in Mylot. Therefore even in their policy they have mentioned that we can't anything on replying back they do pay it because we are helping Mylot to grow as a community. Therefore no one should be reluctant to reply back to the comments.

It is not compulsory to reply back specially if you don't have anything to say. If a responder leave a question maybe you need to reply back for clarifying doubts of confusions. I always returned back to my own discussion and I followed the notification to comment back to the discussions that the doer commented back.

I always make sure that when I create a discussion and someone just comment on it, then I will surely reply to the comment. This is important, to create a real discussion with him, and will enhance his/her interest in the discussion.
The same goes when I comment a discussion, then the creator reply comment also, I always make sure I reply on it. :-) , I reply and reply until the discussion will end with goodbyes and thank you.

I agree you will create a real discussion if you comment back to all the responder. Maybe people doesn't know exactly what is discussion really means. It's like the way we are discussing something inside our classroom. Sharing ideas back to back

No matter how many people involved as long there's interaction happened. Imagine, if no one respond or comment back, shall we call it a discussions? Discussion might happen if there 2 or more people sharing ideas and clear all the confusions or doubts

Regardless of whether I earn when I respond to comments from the discussion I started, I still feel the need to respond back to them because they made an effort to share their views and had time to read my post.
I do comment back after the discussion maker have already responded to me for as long as I feel that the member do want to "connect" with me and exchange some thoughts, i don't mind at all. I have fun with it and enjoy it a lot.

I think we always did that in your own discussion and also to my post. Yes, the connection will continue if both will share their different views related to the topic. I did that to all of my discussions and I only stop if nobody replied me

I always make comments to my discussions when there are some responses,I do this because I think that people have the obligation to reply the responses from others to their discussions, not just for earning.

hi july perfectly right as it takes more than one person to discuss a discussion as its just done on the net instead of in a verbal discussion. I sure would hate to be in the middle of saying something and have the other person just nod and walk off. grrrrr.

I still don't know how to earn money here. After 4 months I have 4$ now. Using the search bar didn't do anything. So, yes I come by sometimes and respond sometimes. Butam trying to find better ways to earn some money. 12 $ a year is peanuts.

Nothing in the life is necessory. Even joining mylot. But when you asked this question considering the earning we make then i can suggest that commenting and commenting back is good for mylotters. i am too young to be sure about it but thats what i have learnt here ever since i joined mylot.
Happy earning

commenting back is necessary, if you want to earn, as you only earn fro wht you do and not what others do. Also, commenting back, is the courteous thing to do, as when users take the time to respond to your discussions, then it is no more than right to take the time to comment back to them. Also, by not commenting back, you really aren't discussing, and that is what mylot is all about. As long as you comment back, post quality, and be active, you will earn, but not per post, as this isn't a pay per post site. You are paid by the over all quality of your posts, whether it be starting a discussion, responding, or commenting. Take care, and have a great day.

Yes many members dont comment back to the responses they get on their discussions. As far as I am concerned, I will atleast acknowledge the response I get though I may not agree with what has been said. Both - replying to the responses to our own discussions and responding others discussions are important for me. But then I think this is each one's personal choice. Though I agree that if I comment on one of the discussions and recieve a comment back from the one who started it, then at least i feel that something was discussed and not just heard.

I feel happy when my discussions gets a long thread in one box. It means to say that they really can relate.
I always answer back to comments that i have commented, specially when they still have something to say and i have something to say about it too.
Doing that makes you enjoy mylotting, because it seems like you are chatting with a friend.

I think commenting back may not be necessary however if we want to boost our earnings then we can comment. For me, I like to comment back to all the responses however, I could not do it in a single setting, it needs a lot of time. We have to pause as we could not think of more things to comment because it seems that all responses contain similar ideas.

I think commenting back does much in increasing earning and in improving discussions. There will be rewards for activity on mylot but also commenting back will heighten the interest.
For the individual I personally think it makes it better because it then becomes easier to have discussions with other people so you sometimes post more. It is a win win situation.
Plus, who wants to write into discussions if no one reads them.

I just read something that was written two months ago about solar energy. It was interesting and a good size paragraph that maybe should have been three paragraphs in size. My point is it had only three comments. That seems a little unfair but at least some people read it.
What you say is true and what we are talking about reminds me of how the internet used to be when it was young. People would make web pages with guest books and in guest book, a lot of the time, people gave appreciation for the person to read. It was not grab and run.
I suspect it is the same kind of thing here in discussion format. It is simply nice to hear from your readers. Good discussion julyteen thanks for making it.
