Can you get turmeric in your country? If you do, then mix one teaspoon of turmeric powder in two cups of water, add a small piece of chopped ginger, 2 black peppers crushed slightly, a clove and boil this mixture until the liquid is reduced to half. Then add a little sugar or honey and make your drink this warm. This is a very good remedy for cough and it also boosts immunity and thus prevents recurrence of coughs and colds. Turmeric is a very good antiseptic and antibiotic in nature. See if it works for her. All the best!

Quite a helpful remedy. Hopefully, we can easily use it at home, and even for our children.

Yes, Sweety, it is very much safe for children, turmeric has absolutely no side effects. I have always been using this for my son, he is now 4 and he has an amazing resistance power to common colds and coughs.

if you can get your hands on some licorice and mullein tea. you can find it at your local herb shop. this is really good for a cough. also rubbing with vic rub on the chest also acts as an agent that will loosen up all the phlem in the chest that is causing the cough. i also heard that lettus and green leafy vegetables are also good to eat when you have a cough.

Raw honey with lemon is a very good alternative medicine for cough. You can also do raw honey and garlic extract solution but make sure this is taken with full stomach. Apple cider vinegar with raw honey is also a good cough remedy. Those are really effective as far as my experiences are concerned. Now if you need more ways then just browse the net to see more natural cough remedies from which you can choose from.

Some remedies are helpful. I know some remedies about curing cough, you can have a try: 1. Slice some white turnip, some ginger, and boil them together with some honey. When the water you put is less than half. You let your child drink the water, several times a day. 2. If you have a roaster, you can roast an orange until the skin gets dark, then peel the orange and let your child eat the orange , it's a little bitter, you can add some sugar. 3. Before going to bed, you can fry an egg with sesame oil, eating this kind of egg is also helpful. Well, these remedies are the ones I use when my daughter has a cough, hope they can help you.

Hello Pom ! Give her more fluids so would it helps in draining down the phlegm from bronchus. Keep her warm always but check back for sweating every intervals . Give her more fruits and foods that are not salty . Give her adequate rest and sleep and lastly go to your doctor for follow up , i guess if antibiotics don't work , the doctor will change it to a more stronger kind of antibiotic. Doctor knows best ! God bless !

Well, at times cough and cold is so severe that we have to take a medicine to counter it(or give to the children). However, we can use some remedies at home. I can think of these- 1)Use a herbal tea 2)use cinnamon mixed with honey. 3)Drink a tea with ginger, cloves and /or basil (Tulsi) leaves. 4)Take steam in a container, and inhale to your nose(with eyes covered). I think we can even try alternate medicines like Ayurveda, or Homeopathic.

Allopathic medicines do bring in some side effects- so we should try some or the other home remedy(s).

Get some Vicks VapoRub. Slather it on the bottoms of her feet and some on the tops. Put some white socks on her and put her to bed, covered up well. This is supposed to work without fail.
