Aussie batters are finding the going tough so far as they get ready to battle India in the upcoming Test matches. They were first exposed brilliantly by Parveez Rasool in their two day game against Board President XI. Later in their game vs India A, they were again exposed by impressive duo of left-arm spinner Rakesh Dhruv and off-spinner Jalaj Saxena. And considering the recent retirements of Hussey and Ponting, their batters apart from Clarke and Watson are suspect against good spin bowling. This is a great opportunity for Indian spinners like Bhajji, Ashwin and Ojha to prove their mettle and help India win at home.

We should not get misled by these matches. Aussies are very smart and they would be able to manage against our best spinners.

I agree. If England can beat us we should be wary of Australians who are proven fighters and are most dangerous when they have had a minor collapse. They fight back very hard and win most of their battles.

Well.. dont care about others but Watson was pretty good out there, and right now he is our main concern considering his record at the subcontinent.

I think Watson is in good form and most probably will be able to win matches. Michael Clark will also be back in the test.

Australia will show what they are made of when the tests begin and Mahi will not take them lightly. India is feeling the loss of stalwarts like VVS, Kumble, Zahir,Dravid and till such time the replacements find their feet things are going to be tough. With SRT and Sehwag also likely to fade away soon it is up to the younger brigade to start firing soon. We are looking at the likes of Kohli, Raina, Tiwari, Pujara, Bhuvneswar, Yadav, Aaron, ashwin, Rayudu, Murali Vijay... to deliver successfully.

I read about the practice match in newspaper today. While, it seems that Aussie batsmen struggled against spin, one cannot be too sure of the test matches. The Aussies might have been experimenting in the practice game, and may play much better in the upcoming series. So, we cannot take them lightly. So, India have to really play well, and try to win against Aussies and not rely on Aussies themselves committing mistakes.

Definitely opportunity is there but it all depends on how our bowlers capitalize on it because in the previous Test series also the opportunity was there but our spinners failed to cash in. Yes Australians are struggling in these practice games and showing some weakness against spin but it will all depend on Indian spinners whether they can exploit their weakness in the coming series. Lets wait and watch...

Yeah. You are right that the current Australian batting line up is not so strong as it was before due to retirement of the ace batsmen of their team & they're not able to play spin bowling very good. Well its good news for Indian spinners & we hope Team India will win the series.

I think some of the player are not good at playing spinners. Aussies have lost lots of good players after the retirement of some of the great batsman. I think most probably Parveez Rasool should be in the playing XI. I think most probably Aussies need some experience and now it is is a new squad.

But India needs to be very careful. Cook already proved in the last series that one person might be enough to blunt the Indian attack. I think it is a great chance for India to record a good series victory, but that fact is that in the longer version of the game, India has not been good for quite some time. Dhoni's captaincy in this form of the game is also a bit suspect. So it would be a close series in my opinion. Cheers! Ram
