Does having a best answer in MyLot matter? I make a lot of discussions, and for the most part simply forget about choosing which ever one would be the best, because in all honesty, it's difficult to choose a greater answer when all of them are awesome!
I for the life of me don't think I'll ever be making those kind of decisions unless I get reminded every time in a discussion that I have to make a best answer
Do you guys care about the best answer? Does it have any real effect on anything?

I guess it's to each his own McCreeper. I've been here for six years and have always picked a best response. I wait at least, well I try to wait at least two weeks before picking, so the discussion is usually at its end.
I just feel it's kind of like feedback on Ebay. People like it, and they feel they did a good job......this is just my opinion. There are many times it's really hard to do because of so many great responses, but I still find one I feel I connected to the most.
It's not necessary to do and there is really no effect on doing it except making that person feel that they did their best.

Certainly, but it just makes me wonder because there have been discussions that I've made that no one really replies to (likely within good discretion), yet it appears on the top of my discussion list. I don't mean to be whiny and all, I just find it's odd that people would bump these discussions back up

It doesn't matter if you give the best answer, as it is just an ego booster anyway, and we don't earn anything for doing so. i have received quite a few myslf, but not lately, but that is okay, as I don't expect to get them all that much anyway. It makes me feel good when I get one, but if i don't, the that is okay too, as I am not out to win a popularity contest. If you can't give a best answer, then I wouldn't worry about it. Just do it when you can if you choose to. Take care!

Yes, I choose one at every discussion I started. You were right that it's difficult to choose when all the answer seem to be the best answer, but since it's your discussion, you can just choose anything that you liked best, it's your prerogative so take advantage of that.

I will be happy to get a best answer as a reward for my good posts.
But till now I have started more than 100 discussion here, I did not have give our best responses to every discussion. I feel a bit sorry for posts in my discussion, but I really do not have enough time to check them.
Maybe I should make out a list to check 5 a day and finished them in one month. But it is hard to choose the best one, every post is great.

I have absolutely never picked a best response on any discussion iv'e started. First it was because i didn't know to or think about it. Now i think about it but just can't seem to pick one since they are all very good responses. I learn a little from each one and i get a bit of good advice from each one so i think they are all the best in their own way so i never pick one to be the best.

I am happy when I recieve a best answer, but I don`t think that it has a meaning in money. I don`t usually give out best answer, because normally I think that many answers are very good.

I do choose the best answer on the discussions I have started. It doesn't generate even a single centavo to either the discussion maker or the member who was chosen to have the best response. But choosing the best response is like giving a pat on the back to a member who gave helpful insights to the post.

its very tough to decide a best answer really..I dont mark any response as best answer in my discussions generally because i dont find myself able to choose just one among so many awesome responses, but sometimes i do when i find someone's way of expression really unique and intelligent or most informative..

I choose a best answer on all my posts after 3-4 days. For the reason some people like it when they recive one. Thats the only reason I do it here.

No, choosing the Best Response does not mean that a discussion is closed. Even after the Best Response has been choses more users can still add responses and comments tot eh discussion because a discussion on myLot is NEVER closed.

The reason for the best response is so that we know the issue (if there is one) has been resolved. It also lets members know that their comments have been useful to you.

Well, I can't say that's not true, though whenever I've been on, there haven't been many discussions where it's just one question and someone finishes answering it "correctly". Of course, there are going to be groups of people who will corroborate that said person is right..
But I thought commenting that it helped is usually a better idea

I guess being chosen to be the best answer in a certain topic does not increase your earnings in Mylot. Best answers is chosen by the one who posted a certain topic and it is subjective, it is not scored or something based on the content of the answer or the ideas being emphasized by the respondent. However, if your answer is chosen to be the best among those who responded to a certain topic then it is the prestige or honor that you earn among the Mylot users as a prize.

For me, it is really rare that I will take the time out to choose a best response on a discussion that I've started. The reason that I don't take the time out to do this is because of the fact that it really doesn't make a difference in the grander scheme of things. In addition to that, I don't think that it is fair to tell all of the people that have participated in your discussion that I think the opinion of user B is a better opinion than that of user A.

I think there can be better answers depending on what the discussion is about, but you might find that you can pick and choose from several comments on what you would like to use in your own life.

Hi creeper!
I don't even care about which one is the best answer. What I am caring about is always about sharing thoughts and communication.Different personality leads to different effection,so I doubt. If you find it hard to choose a better answer then just leave it here and don't.LOL
