I am against lighting firecrackers and fireworks

I wouldn't worry about the pollution too much. Cow farts are more harmful. People should just be careful not to improperly dispose of fireworks, and they should always practice safety.

Well yes it is bad for our air and well within the us i am glad it is done only 2 times a year but other countrys do it far more often

Well, I know some people where I am would shoot some fireworks off on New Years. But here in America, the main day for fireworks is on the 4th of July. Independence day. I remember when I was younger we used to spend hours shooting fireworks and having a great time. New Years is more for family get togethers. That I would agree on.

Aren't the fireworks something to do with chasing away evil spirits? At least that is how some of our strange customs started off. I am a little nervous of fireworks because I think that what goes up comes down and certainly there are lots of firework sticks lying around on the ground after a big celebration. I agree that celebrating family reunions, joyful moments or just the excitement of starting a new year with friends are all that is necessary for one to appreciate the beginning of a new year.

So am I, Ive seen so many people injured here in Mexico with fireworks. I dont like them much.

I love watching fireworks but I don't like the smoke and smell of it.
