you can say whatever you want to say on phone because the one that you are talking with dont know what exactly happens in your place or what you do..
yes i do experience that sometimes and i do this for sometimes for my partner talking with me on the phone. sometime i make lie on her for better and for our relationship to be good state..

Yes, it is really surprising to hear people tell lies on their mobile phones.
Mobile phones of today's generation are not fitted with a device or an application which could tell the location of a person, therefore, people take advantage and brazenly tell lies. They know that they can not easily be caught.
I 've observed some people in our city Metro train telling on their mobile phones to other party/parties that they are about to reach their destination and in reality they had just started their metro train journey. phew.....!

I wouldn't "blame" the cell phones here when the users are abusing the tool to achieve their "devious" means.
What you have posted is no stranger to any one of our experiences with a dishonest or cheating tendencies. I couldn't help recalling one of my eldest daughter's ex, whom I saw with another girl in a shopping mall and happened to tell my daughter that he was in school. Being that it was a school day and hours, I just happened to blab out asking my daughter what he was doing at the mall at that time of the day. Boy, did I opened a can of worms for her.
As you can see, the cell phone in the hands of a cheater will be used for cheating and the phone cannot be making a person into a cheater.

Yeah I know how that feels, I too were disgusted with some people lying to what they are actually doing. One time I even heard a guy saying he was at his car driving to his office when in fact he as somewhere, maybe meeting up with someone. I just actually stared at him, though he was busy lying that he didn't notice. So yeah some people are sick at that. Hopefully the person on the other end of the phone could tell if the person is lying or not.

I have never come across people that have lied over the phone to whomever they were talking to about what they were doing or where they were. That is hillarious though that people do that over their cell phones. Like oh, sure yeah I'm home washing dishes, when you know very well that you are on the bus not even at home. It is so true and funny that people's cell phones can help them lie.

I do not know if it's really prompted by the cellphone, or the user is already a liar by nature. One time while I was on a bus going to my grandma's place (it is a 2 hour drive and being a student still, my parents did not let me drive the car). There's this guy across the aisle and he was talking on his phone. He said he will call the person back because he's driving. I swear all of us sitting in that aisle threw looks at one another. Even the lady sitting beside him made a really loud snort, lol!

I can't help myself from laughing as i read what you narrated about the guy. raine.
I swear if i am there , i would really laugh out loud while looking at him, so he will cringe with shame for his bragging lie!
Some people can really be airheads and liars.
I remember our boss telling a supervisor waiting for her, that she is already near and would be arriving anytime, but she is with me just getting ready to go inside her car to go there and travel time will be 30 45 minutes.
Now, whenever i ask her where she is already over the phone and tells me something like that, i feel like laughing because i now know her style. Thus, i don't expect her to arrive soon, which is always true.

HAHHA.. I know a lot of us here can relate in this topic.. That is true, cellphone really tests your sincerity.. I do that sometimes especially when I am talking to people who called me up just to ruin my day...
I even do that when me and my boyfriend are still in "courting stage".. I used to lie every time he asked me to go out .. I did a lot of alibi to justify of not going.. lol

Very true, I have also observed people lying on mobile. It's not that people have started lying only after mobile phone came into there life. May be the frequency of lying has increased. And earlier by using land line they used to lie from their offices or residence and not from public places hence it didn't used to get highlighted. Now since they speak with people in public places and while travelling, it gets noticed by others.

Such people are everywhere. Once there was a guy in the shopping mall telling the person on the other end of his cell phone that he was in the airport lounge getting ready to fly overseas. He was obviously planning to avoid seeing the person for quite some time :))

Yes people do it often even I also do it. Well cellphones give us the liberty to say lies because the listener couldn't see us so we lie to them.
I do it for saving me from unwanted people & work.

it helps at times get off tricky situations, once a friend visited and when they rang the bell i peeped and didn't feel like seeing them i just kept quiet so they tried to call me i picked and said am not at home,so some times its a good way to help you not have to deal with what you don't want.

I generally dislike hearing another person's cellphone conversations especially someone I don't know. These days you hear all sorts of stuff including lying. People will tell all their personal business on the cellphone without caring who's around or who's listening. I just find it rather awkward. Though I don't know the person I really don't care to know about all the drama going on in their life. From cheating spouses to them cheating on their own spouse I have heard it all. And not just on public transportation. It can be the standing in line in the market or walking through the mall. The bad part about it is I have heard so much that nothing shocks me anymore.

i know at times we cant help overhear people in their conversations but when you are telling lies you attract attention ,if i know we are in a market and i hear you telling the caller you are in a hotel i get more curious to listen so its better to keep off too much lying on phones, someone is listening!

That's the common way of some people to make some alibis just to excuse their self from the one they talk.Unfortunately, they never know that somebody heard them with different reactions.

Hello Pomwango, yes you are right. I can see people without values everywhere, but cellphones are not guilty. Guilty are the liers. Soon they could not lie anymore because every cell will come with gps systems.

Great discussion here, as I'm also experienced with this matter, I'm on LRT (public transport)and the person talk to loud as a sound of LRT so noise and she said that she is at home doing cleaning work I wonder if the one who interact with her, doesn't heard that sound of LRT?
