Staying positive is something that one has to strive for these days. Most of the time I am wondering what ever happen to being positive? There are persons who are just party poopers! they throw cold water on every effort to remain positive. A smile can take you right through a cloudy day if you employ it. Laughter can take away the wrinkles of aging if it is used constantly.Using pleasant words can help you through a difficult moment if you just know how to say them. Is there anyone who can vote for staying positive; in spite of the debts we are in and the bills that we will have to pay no matter what?

My aunt can be like this sometimes. She's always negative or has some negative comment to make about what you say. In December, her husband got laid off of work and so he was trying to apply to jobs. One job wanted him to come in but he told them he wanted a few weeks off first. For the whole 2 weeks he didn't have a job, my aunt was complaining about how they couldn't go anywhere or go to restaurants to eat because he didn't have a job. I got so tired of hearing this.
For the most part I try to stay positive myself. Sometimes it does get hard though I'll admit. My boyfriend is in the army and he's currently in Korea. We haven't seen each other since October and sometimes I get really sad he's not here. I try to stay positive by thinking of him visiting soon or all the good things about him.

I could say that staying positive is what makes the difficult times a little easier, even though we still have to deal with the problems that we are going through, thinking positive helps us avoid the tensions caused by stress, that might lead us to another problem.

Staying positive is winning half the battle. Life is never easy, even those who seem to have it all are not immuned to life's troubles that it throws to all of us. As long as we continue to live, we will have challenges in different ways and forms. It is up to us on how we are going to face each day.

I am a kind of person who don't listen any negative thoughts. I hate people who think negative. I love to accompany people who are always thinking positive even on their hardest time. Being positive will give us courage to fight against any negative thinking and negative outlook of like. If you are negative thinkers, you cannot convince me in anyway

Hi Sarah.:-)
When days are tough and everything seems going not so well according to how we expect them to be, the only way to survive is to keep the faith and stay positive. It is easy to sulk in one corner and mourn and wallow in sadness and self pity as if it is the end of the world already, but, what good would it do? Nothing....
When we stay positive it is when hope still afloats and it is when we don't lose control of the situation and ourselves. You know what they say about being positive? Imagine yourself in a positive way and own it, you'll get good results. Exactly the way you want it. :-)
Happy Mylotting, my dear. :-)

I used to be a person that wasn't always able to find something positive about every situation that I faced in my life. However, this is definitely not something that is the case for me anymore. I try to find something positive about everything that I face in my life these days.
When you are able to find the positive in every situation that you face, you will find that those things that you really do have to struggle through will actually be a lot easier to deal with. This is something that really does make me a very happy person overall.

If "staying positive" means having a healthy attitude based on wisdom, discernment, and focusing on what is "true, honorable, good, right, and beautiful", OK.
But, if it means in any way denying the truth or righteousness of any matter, that's delusional, as in denying the TRUTH of what is happening to the former "America" today.
Hitler's Germany was deceived and deluded into thinking "positive" and "all was well" as dark evil spread and prevailed. Obviously America has not learned any lessons of history as the usurper works from the same playbook as both Hitler and Stalin:
Hidden and forged documentation in order to seize power
Blame, divide, and conquer using "political correctness" (which is, in fact, cultural Marxism, extant since WWI):
http://www.academia.org/the-origins-of-political-correctness/
Promote "fairness" and "social justice" which is socialism leading to communism
Claim false "hope" as a wolf in sheep's clothing; lie and deceive, as in Muslim taqiyya, socialist/communist/liberal Saul Alinsky methods
Promote phony "environmentalism" and "global warming" as another way toward control and enslavement of the "masses"
Population reduction and Deathcare
Our economy and jobs are being DELIBERATELY DESTROYED in order to reduce us to a third world country and globalism, slavery.
America has bountiful resources which are being denied, denigrated, and not allowed to come to any fruition, e.g. reliance on Arab oil in face of our own plentitude.
And so much more.
Our country has been taken down, as were Greece and Rome, from within due to our own immorality and tolerance thereof, apathy, complacency, and ignorance.
Denying reality isn't positive; coming to an understanding of truth is.
And "truth" is often "negative" to most people because it may mean they have to change their understanding and behavior.
Seeking ephemeral "happiness" rather than deep spiritual joy coming from the knowledge of truth - God, the Bible, our Judeo-Christian foundations - is the only way to stay "positive" in a negative, destructive, dangerous world.
So, at the personal level, yes, smile! Love in the Godly "agape" way. Speak kindly and warmly.
But always have "eyes to see, ears to hear" truth and fight "the good fight of faith". Do not be as those who "perish for lack of knowledge" - a willful denial of truth, the only truth that will set one free.
You are right in saying that "staying positive is something that one has to strive for these days".
My friend just got back from Russia and noted the still- total hopelessness in the eyes and faces of those old enough to have lived under communism, which destroyed all hope, incentive, and excellence.
They asked him why we in America have "voted" for a communist.
My former student just got back from Israel and reported what the MSM won't re the Hitler, dictator destroying America, Israel, and the world.
But, staying positive in a positively right, truthful, and honorable way will work wonders.

Staying positive is something that is easier said than done for me, because even though I try to remain optimistic as I would like I always end up going the other side. It's like I'm being sucked in a big black hole of pessimism. But don't get me wrong, I try to see the bright side of things. It's just that it's hard to stay consistently positive when it's practically easy to be more realistic instead.

Staying and having a positive outlook in life is a a matter of things. I think if you choose to think positive, one can think clearly and do the right decision. It will help one not to keep down on theirselves. Thanks for sharing your thoughts too.

I think positive thinking is very good not only to your mind but also to your health. I would like to think positive all the time and I do my best to do so but sometimes I just can't. When I have a bad day or I face some difficulties in life I always remember to put a smile on my face. And then when everything seems to be ok there comes that sudden sadness and my mood goes down for no particular reason. I guess it's hard to stay positive when you don't even know what made you upset. That's why I think that optimists are people who understand themselves.

We are in control of our lives. Even if we do not want bad things to happen to us, most of the times we are the ones to be blamed for negative consequences of our actions. I believe that having a positive attitude will help us stay away from bad things to happen. I do believe in Law of Attraction. The more you become negative with things, the more negative things you attract. Staying positive is a key to having a happy life. Have a good perspective and learn that if bad things will come on your way.. these things will be able to help us make stronger and wise in life.

You are so right that we should stay positive no matter what the situation is. I have felt negative at times, but i realize that things would go better if I stayed positive. I am struggling financially, but I know that things will get better in time as long as I stay positive. Life is what we all make of it, so stay positive, and see how things go. Take care, and have a very good day.

Being positive is a choice. If you really on the things around you to be positive, you can't achieve being positive all the time. Positivity should come from within you and not from the outside things, and you can be positive even if there are many odds in your life that can stop you from being one.

I think some think including me I've thought this too that to be realistic one can not always be positive. That maybe very untrue. Remaining positive does not undo what is real. It is not sugar coating. Perhaps forming a habit to stay positive is looking at the challenges and not giving in to them.
We all fall down sometimes but staying positive is really a state of mind that's all. Even living with debt has its positive side. For example, for example, ________ _________?
