Last Monday was our payday.I already withdraw it all in my atm payroll account to budget for all the expenses and bills that I have to pay.I did checked my payslip too see the deductions and net amount that I got.Then I found out that the raise in my salary that I requested wasn't still granted and still pending.So sad to know.
I already talked to our hr assistant privately about the raise that I have requested to my boss to know that status or any updates about it.She said that it is still not yet approved by my boss.Maybe the new management that we will be having in few months could be a factor?But I am still hoping that it will be approved and looking forward for it in the next payroll.What I asked is reasonable at all since I am really fully loaded of work now.
Am I going to belong to those who are overload yet underpaid?
I am still hoping and looking forward for best result regarding this matter.

Hi mate,
I does see any of your employment status here. So pardon me if I just make some assumption here. On most cases if you are a permanent employee raise in salary usually had been managed into a plan by the HR.
They usually had two type of raise. One, it's the regular yearly raise if your company's doing good in business. It' targeted to keep the salary saved from those inflation. Two, it's special raised if you really doing a good job and perform brilliantly or your responsibility increased.
I thought that most peoples tend to expect the second one. If so then usually the correct way of asking a raise is through your first level manager, if he approves it then usually he would forwarded the request to the second level manager. If things goes well then you will have the good news. They usually invites you to have a private chat.
I do have experience while I was working with a multi-national company here some years ago. Even though it was only contractual work. I got my raise 2 times in a year which is quite something if you could say because they really feel my work is excellent.

Well I guess I would fall in the second reason that you have said since I am quite overloaded with lots of work so requesting raise in my salary would be reasonable enough.I been doing my job so well as far as I know and my boss know that I been doing almost job for two people.

Well sometimes like you have said we need to appeal to the higher up and show them that we are overloaded. But if that was your reason they might not raised it. You will need to go through HR and HR staff might considering to add resource instead. Because well sometimes if they feel it's cost less to add another resources then they will just do that rather than increasing salary. Not expected but could happen. So be careful with the appeal.

Yeah this is always the sad part of being an employee wherein some are overwork yet underpaid.We deserved to be paid right on things that we are doing just like the bosses who are getting high salaries.

You could report your issue to the department of Labor if you think you are being underpaid. You have that right if you think you are being paid for less than what should have been paid for. I did get my salary increase last month without asking for it even if our sales are dropping so I really hope they will raise your salary soon.

Oh nice to know that you are already got you raise in salary, that would be a great news to us employees to get the right compensation will all the hard work that we are doing in our work.I am not giving up and still hoping that mine will be given so soon.

Seems like your company is open to salary negotiations with the employees. As to me, I don't think I can do that although I feel that I deserved some raise. In this company if you are not happy with your salary, you are free to find the employer who is willing to give you that raise that you asked for. It's hard to find a job so I guess it's better this way.

Good luck to you then. I know you deserved that raise, otherwise you would not have asked for it. I hope that your company will understand that they can cut costs by giving you a raise, than hiring an assistant for you.

Yeah I don't know exactly if our is really open about it by I give it a try since I found out that some who requested were granted so why not give it a shot.The fact that my request is really reasonable.They don't even get an assistant for me cause I been doing work for two people so I am still hoping that my request will be granted soon.

I just know that we can request for salary raise. Good for you but in the government service we can not ask. We have to wait for a law that will be passed for the increase of our salaries. I had experienced doing 3 jobs due to vacancies that arose but I have no right to complain and to ask any raise for that. Good that the vacancies were filled up. I am doing only my specific role in the office. That happened long ago and now we are facing the same situation again. We have 2 vacancies again and the central office won't allow these positions to be filled up due to some reasons. Then come the election ban, the more that these vacancies will not be filled up. By the way, I just wish for your salary increase soon.

Thanks and I am hoping for it as well. That is what the problem sometimes, if there are some vacant position in the company yet they dont get some replacement which lead for us to do the task for that position without any additional pay or raise in salary at all. There are some cases also wherein our works are continue increasing and starting to hard or difficult yet there are still no raise at all. I guess it alwasy happened to all companies wherein there are some employees are being overloaded of work yet underpaid which is really sad but thats the truth.

Yeah dont lose hope as long as it is not yet denied there still possible that it might be approved soon. Patience is really a virtue for me this time around. There still hope in the coming days and I am looking forward for that. For the meantime, I'll do my est in my work so I could be more efficient and accurate in all the works that are needed and assigned to me.

It is great that your company does allow such to be when it comes to salary raises. I would say that in my previous companies though we raise our request and issues that we haven't received a raise yet for the last number of years, the company always have our managers manage the expectation of the employees and the HR group never handles such requests submitted to them. Usually raises in the companies happen across the organization so most of the time everyone who is given a raise gets is all at the same time (based on the performance documentation) of course.

Well it would be up to us if we wanted to asked a raise and give it a shot than waiting for nothing.My request is really reasonable since I really work on lot of this now the fact that they already add new branch.It add more stress and busyness with me since my work is almost for two people.

Unfortunately, given the fact that your place of employment is going through some major changes right now, it could mean that you will not be getting your raise as soon as you would like to get it. In fact, it could be that there is a payroll freeze that is in effect as a result of the acquisition of the company that you are working for.
As far as asking if you are going to be in the group of people that is overworked and underpaid, this is something that is happening to a lot of people now, so you really shouldn't be surprised if it is something that does happen to you.

Yeah it could be a factor since there will be some changes in due time cause we will be having new management but I am still hoping till that day happened.Still being positive about it.

Good thing that you made that step and initiative to make sure that you get what you deserve. Give it a couple more pay cycle then you can actually follow up form the new manager. Like I said, the worse he can do is say no. And if you asked nicely, I don;t think he will take it the wrong way. Besides, he can always check your work and the quality of the reports you turn in. He can make his own investigation if you are putting in the work that the company expects you to.

Yes as long as it is still not yet denied, I still have to be positive and look forward that it will granted in due time, but I hope that it won't take too long cause it will means that it quite impossible.But still have to be optimistic and hoping for the best to come.

I hope you will get salary raise . Everyone who works hard deserves a strong stimul to keep up with the good work. In time of financial crisis It 's hard for any boss to make a desition to give more money so maybe that is why you havent got your extra money yet.

I am hoping as well that it will be approved since it was still not denied yet.Its reasonable to asked raise in my salary since I already working for two people job.They don't wanted to get assistant for me so better raise my salary.
