Glad to see the sun

Here in the upper midwest we finally have gotten our full blown winter as we are sitting on atleast 12in of snow here and life is filled with cold and cloudy days. For the past several days we've had SUN and clear skies. It's so nice to see it. I really think it changes peoples attitudes and other behaviors. I know it makes me feel better when it's out I feel more accomplished, better attitude, and a bit on the go-getter feeling. I hope this is a sign spring is near as I'm tired of the snow and looking forward to the eruption of green and activities outside.
Have you noticed if the lack of sun impacts your mood/behaviors?

So, sorry...I do know that if you are in the midwest or even the East coast of U.S., old man winter has been a little harsh with you! In some cases, more than harsh.
Here, off the Coast of B.C., we have had only one skiff of snow..actually even a winter with a lack of rain...and it's only been in the last 3 days we've had torrential downpours with threats of flooding. Same amount of rain in 3 days as we normally have over the winter season! Our winter has just been different shades of grey.
I don't know that I suffer from SDS but I find the "grey" and lack of outdoor activity very depressing...so each Fall, I do supplement with Vitamin D (the sunshine vitamin)as we do lack Vitamin D in winter. And it has made a difference, for me at least.
There is a rainbow tho..Crocuses are blooming, daffs, tulips and hyacinths, probably in about a week...excitement, YES I can get some of my seeds planted..YAHOO!

I love the sunshine and bright blue skies, gloomy cold days tend to depress people.
I do like a nice rainy day every once in a while, when you're home snuggled on the couch being all cozy

I'm a little bit of the opposite. I like the cloudy sky days. Of course the sunny days are great too, but the days where it is gray really don't bother me. I have no idea why I like them so much. Because when I was a child I hated them. Rain or cloudy skies depressed me. Just not anymore.

Here in southwestern Ohio I have not seen the sun for days and I'm more than ready for a sunny day. They say we will get some sun this evening. Yes, the sun affects our mood. When I lived in Arizona there was too much sun, it was relentless and I actually was depressed with the lack of variety in the weather. Now I look forward to the sun and enjoy it when it shines.
I've been doing some articles on a retirement location and learned a lot about the sun. Did you know that only sunlight gives us what we need to make vitamin D? We can take supplements but the natural stuff is best. And D helps our hearts, makes our bodies lose weight and a whole lot of other good stuff. It even helps stave off cancers. We've been brainwashed for so long by the multi-billion dollar sunscreen industry to look at the sun as a deadly enemy that most of us are vitamin D deficient.
So when the sun comes out let it shine on you. 10-20 minutes a day in the sun without sunscreen will keep you healthy, especially your heart!

I think that it is a fact that lack of Sun does impact many people, and maybe even all of us, though some of us don't notice. You can buy special lights that will help with this situation. You might try thinking of the snow as part of the answer to our terrible drought.

The sun does affect my mood to a certain extent. More than that is changes in the weather. I hate it when it's sunny and dry for an extended period. It's so boring and I so look forward to a storm. I love the snow and really enjoyed it (we're west of you but in much the same situation). I was so glad to see it... but after a couple of days, it was awesome to see the sun come out. Things looked so bright and hopeful, somehow.
I always look forward to spring and things growing, but I always look forward to autumn and things dying back, too!

March came in as a lamb here in Montreal as well, but the old saying goes if march comes in as a lamb it will go out as a lion, meaning the end of March will be cold.

I am must more productive when the sun shines. Yesterday we had sun and I even got some extra cleaning done...considering that I am getting ready for the first craft sale of the year that's an accomplishment. I also work with the public....and notice how crabby people get after days and days of no sunshine...it's much better when we do have no cloudy weather!

Think how good that snow is for the farmers. Maybe that will help your mood.

You have 4 seasons a year. I live in the tropics or Equator. We see the sun everyday. In fact we have sun and rain often. Our weather is hot and humid. We do not have to apply lips gloss as humidity is high. We are used to the hot sun shining on our bare head. And we do not use any sun tan lotion at all as we are used to the hot sun.

Yes, I definitely do think that the luck of sunlight that we see in the winter months is something that does have an adverse affect on our mood and our behavior. We haven't really been having a lot of sun here lately so it is something that is still keeping me down. However, I do really have something that I can look forward to because daylight savings time starts next week and that does at least mean that we will have more light in the afternoons.

wow! that would be a scenic beauty for you and with your countrymen. sometimes, we will really miss things the usual way. and now, enjoy the heat of the sun, for in our place we cannot do that because the heat is burning us because of its excessive hotness. and to say, the weather too is unpredictable, for this time the sun shines very dearly and then in a minute of time, the rain will pour. we do not know if we will dry ourselves of wet it hahaha...so enjoy for i know what you feel :)

I'm a SAD sufferer, so am always glad when the sun shines. Doesn't seem to be doing it here at the moment, but I think my dreadful cold has finally broken, so I feel better this morning regardless.
The spring equinox rolls around on the 20th, so let's hope spring itself is not far behind, even though March snuck in on little lamby feet this year.

Yesterday the weather was delightfully sunny and warm. The sky was delightfully blue. Many people were out walking in the bright and lovely sunlight. I felt it was a sigh that spring is not far away. On Friday the local council cut some grass near to where I live.
Today was more icy and cold. I wonder why the weather has gone cold again. I hope later this week the fine weather will happen.

I don't hate sunlight but I must prefer I little misty specially when I want to go out. I can't stand the heat of the sunlight on my head I do bring an umbrella just to cover the heat but sometimes it disturbed me having an umbrella specially when I'm in the market. Like today I'm glad that the sun was hiding.

I am also in the midwest and OMG, do I love to see the sun now? I was so happy I took out my open toed sandals and wore my clogs yesterday. There is still some chill in the air but at least a thin sweater is enough to ward it off. I hope this beautiful weather continues.
