Not good at all

So, I was sitting here tonight, mylotting and playing some stupid game when I heard a siren coming up the street.
I jump out of the chair and then out the door to see an ambulance turning right on my street - that is on the other side of the main street by my house since you turn left on my street to get here.
A minute later and a fire truck arrives.
As is SOP (standard operating procedure) they cut the siren as they arrived at the street before they turned.
I can see them walking around a house where I think an older guy lives.
I come back in and settle down, and then the siren starts up. I duck back out and, sure enough, the ambulance is going away under siren and lights.
Now, there is a reason they don't use siren or lights, the person is dead. If they use just lights but no siren means they aren't in particular danger. But if its lights and siren, then its pretty bad.
Another clue that the person wasn't dead - as I learned a while back, the police didn't come... yes, I had a person die in my house.
So, that's my excitement for the night...
You have any excitement around your place?

My friend and I went grocery shopping yesterday, and across from the store is a medical building. There were six squad cars, a couple paddy wagons, and an ambulance over there. I don't know what was going on, but most of them were still there when we finished our shopping.

And I haven't been able to find out anything about it.

Other than finding some shelves to salvage and paint and use for free this morning, no excitement. My heart does lurch when there is activity really close. I also live just a short ways north of a refinery and they have fire drills and fire activity on occasion and I can hear it. I am very tired tonight, and I think I am heading off to bed.

With very high ceilings I am tending to go up. Plus using what used to be a closet/dressing room for a pantry now. I really identify with your posts, as I have stuff everywhere but not nearly so many kitties.

If I said no, I'd be lying but the thing is, I never know what is going on around here.
I don't go anywhere or talk to anyone so therefore I don't hear any gossip. I might hear something sometimes but it will be weeks and weeks later.
Going back to my cave now.

No excitement lately. I have a neighbor who has Alzheimer's and her husband cares for her at night. She has a caregiver during the day. We often go through the ambulance-firetruck thing during the night. Apparently she gets up and wanders around and gets into mischief and her husband has to call for help. The ambulance takes her away and usually she is back within a few days.

Not much of an excitement today. Except that we had the dog squad come over in our locality to catch some of the stray dogs. We have a stray who has made the compound of our apartment building his home. He has been sick for some time. But being a stray, he wont let anyone touch him. So these people took him and promised to treat him before leaving him back here two days later. Yup that is all that happens here.
But I hope that old man who lives across the streeet is fine.

Oh! That's not something about. That's something to be worried about. What happened to the guy?
Whew! I could remember last December (on Christmas Eve) sirens went on and stopped at my neighbor's house. They arrested my neighbor's son. I don't really know what happened or what he did. He was laughing that afternoon and I thought everything was well.
Then a few days passed, they said that it was just for precautionary purposes. They didn't want trouble from him so someone requested he be locked up safe that night.
I don't really know the legalities of things. But when he's drunk, he's really a menace to society. He'd be destroying their house literally and is more of a danger to other people and to himself. I guess they did the right thing that night. But still it was something that really troubled me.
I do hope your neighbor is okay.

Well, he's an older guy, and if he is who I think he is, he has some serious health problems. This isn't the first time I've seen an ambulance at his place, at least they weren't arresting him like they did with the crazy lady who used to live across the street.

Nothing quite that exciting today. There's a bit more "activity" in this area than I'd like, and something just happened today that made my boyfriend realize what this place is actually like.
If I were 10 years younger, I might find this place a bit more charming--both the house and the town. However, I'm at an age where I just want my version of the picket fences. I want to be in a place where I can raise children... and this rental and this town are not it.

Not alot is going on here with me. I have to work 9 to 5:30 pm tomorrow. I usually work 11:30am to 8:00pm. The guy who worked the day shift has to see his doctor about his bad heart again. The guy has 6 stints in his heart and they have also found a pinch artery they are trying to decide what to do about! He is only 41 and doesn't take care of himself!
We got hit with a snowstorm last wednesday. 16.9 inches os snow! It was not fun digging out! We were suppose to get more snow tomorrow but it sounds like only flurries. We'll see!
Got a labtop from my older brother and I love it! That is what is going on around here!

My house is near a national highway so I hear sirens from ambulance, fire trucks and police cars. I'm most nervous about the fire truck's siren because it makes me imagine the place or house that is currently on fire, which is a scary thought.
Sometimes though whenever I just look out at the road I see other exciting stuff like a motorist who is doing a stunt while driving. I saw this man who was standing on top of his motorbike while driving. It was extremely dangerous and I hope he doesn't get other motorist in trouble for his lack of driving safely.

My client lives a few blocks from a fire station, so I hear sirens all the time, but my neighborhood is small and not one you would pass through, so a siren here means a neighbor, even though I don't know them, is having trouble.
Then there have been the couple of times I've seen SWAT here.

Election will be this coming May. So, every other night there were these group of people coming in our place to let us know what have they done and their pledges if they will be elected again. They gave sample ballots, fans, t-shirts etc... I think for now that's our excitement. Especially,if there are celebrities accompanied by them.
