I used to get flowers all the time.. but then it stopped. Partly because hubby could no longer afford to buy me flowers all the time, and partly because my cats eat them so it's sort of pointless.
But yesterday, for no reason at all, my husband brought home flowers for me.
When was the last time you got flowers?

The last time that I got flowers was on Valentine's Day. . . wait for it. . . wait for it. . .2002!
Really, I'm not saying anything against my husband because cut flowers are not really something that I appreciate, I would much rather be given a plant that I can nurture in the house or something that I can plant outside. I really don't like to get something that I know is going to die.

I don't either. My husband knows it too. That's why he hasn't bothered to get me any flowers...since 1996! LOL
Happy mylotting!

Hm, probably January. Usually it's a single rose. :)

Mercy, I do not even remember. Hubby usually will buy live plants that are blooming rather than cut flowers. That has been a while, though. A couple of years ago my son got me flowers for my birthday, because his girlfriend said to.

My daughters once in a while will buy me flowers, but usually they are in pots because I like plants. My son-in-law bought me an African Violet last mother's day..it has not stopped blooming since then and it's almost a year old...I'm amazed.
I'm single so I don't have anyone else to buy me a bouquet of cut flowers, but I do buy them for myself every so often to brighten up the house. I'll probably get some this week shopping because spring is on it's way, yea!!

Forgot to mention that it was so very sweet of your husband to buy you some flowers. He must love you very much and that's one way to show it. Maybe you could surprise him with a little gift too one day...surprises are always fun to receive.

That was so nice. =) The last time I got flowers was this year on Valentine's Day. Before that I have not gotten flowers in 7 years! Lol. Mostly because we cannot afford it and I know and understand that.

I got nothing for Valentine's Day.. because I refuse to celebrate it. It's all commercialized and I won't feed into it. We don't need a special day to show love.

I hardly ever get flowers. The first time I got them from hubby was the last time as well. I loved the thought and all, but never care for getting flowers, especially cut ones, as a gift. That was 21 years ago. I haven't gotten any from him since! LOL
The last time I got flowers from anyone else, was a few years back. One of my cousins had sent them to me for a birthday gift. I didn't have the heart to tell her how I felt about flowers as gifts. I just put them in a area of the house where I could view them instead.
Happy mylotting!

Flowers for no reason are the best. I don't remember when my husband last sent me flowers, but our children send me flowers for special occasions, like Mother';s Day, frequently. Don't think I've received flowers for no reason since since our youngest grandson picked some flowers that were blooming out of season in our front yard and brought them to me.

Last time I got them was on valentines day. I am not that into flowers though, I prefer them growing in the garden than seeing them on a flower vase to wilt eventually. Cleaning up wilted flowers is bothersome to me. But I do like getting them, they are okay, seeing flowers brings out my feminine side.
I only got flowers twice from my boyfriend. He knows I prefer food more so... he gives me food all the time. Thanks to that, now I am fat. haha!

I had visitors at the weekend and they brought me daffodils which was a lovely surprise. This morning when I went into the living room there was a faint scent of daffodils, it was a great start to a sunny morning.
In the absence of real flowers I put silk ones in the vases. They look pretty and give a more homely feel to any room. They accummulate a little dust but never little flies, so I am not complaining. However there is no competition when a real bunch of flowers come my way, they are whisked out of sight and immediately replaced. A week later they are back again looking totally undisturbed.

That's a nice idea. I don't normally bother with the kids and cats around. My house is decorated by them.. not me, LOL.

Thats so sweet of your husband. When it comes to me in my five years of married life i never got any flowers. He is not at all interested in that and when i asked him once he simply made jokes out it. But the fact is i never expected flowers from him :-)

Mother's day last year. I got 100 daisies from my daughter. The daisy is both of our favorites...and they lasted forever! She got them from some florist that delivers they via fed ex....and they come from a farm so they are very fresh! Nice of your husband to do that for you! I bet it was a wonderful surprise!

Hello friend, thanks for the discussion.
The last time I got cut flowers was from my son on Mother's Day. I appreciated them when I got them. However now that we are NOT talking anymore, I doubt seriously I will be seeing any. In fact, last year he didn't send any and that was before we had a falling out. But actually, I'm not into cut flower here where I live. It is too dry and they die to quickly, and I really do not have any place to display them.
I prefer plants that I can plant outside and watch for months. Of course, that limits them to spring or summer. My hubby doesn't buy me cut flowers because he knows how I feel about them and he agrees. But he does buy me hanging baskets every year and I love enjoying them all summer. It doesn't take any particular reason for him to buy things for me, besides flowers, just does it because he can and thinks I will enjoy whatever he buys. I'm expecting Peeps soon, it is the time of year for him to buy some for me and bring them home as a surprise!

I don't get flowers that often. It's partly because of my allergies (pollen), some people are afraid to send me flowers, which is so bad, as I love them, and one or two flowers wouldn't make my nose runny or my eyes watery.
Last time I got a flower was last summer, my boyfriend surprised me with a beautiful crimson rose. I even got a petal of it made into a ring by a craftsperson, I treasure it so much! He doesn't really buy flowers for me, because he isn't that well-off, but he brings lots of other kinds of surprises and little gifts :).

I never get any flowers from my husband, even when he was still courting me. I would get flowers from other admirers, but never from him. He thinks they are not practical gifts, he said he would rather give me with stuff that doesn't wilt and die and become trash after a couple of days. He is generous, so I cannot say that he is just being cheap. It's just not his style I guess. The last time I received flowers? Hmmm, I can't even remember.
