I heard last time from this Doctor who have a very good background and came from a reputable and international school that eating 2 to 4 eggs for normal people maintain good health because it contains 100% amino acids/ protein that is essential to our body.He also said that cholesterol in eggs is good because it produce Q10 which is good to our heart. It is really surprising to hear this new info about the benefits of eating egg. because it's really a long time we strongly believe that eating egg yolk everyday gives large amount of cholesterol which we do believe is harmful to our health. He also stated that the longest people who live it is in part of europe I remember it is in france who live 120 yrs.. It makes me confuse as last 2 months I read in the yahoo news that eating eggs is harmful according to their research.eat
egg daily is his advice. He also said those people who said they have hypertension and heart problems it
s not in the egg that they eat but perhaps they eat fatty meat and other food that give them harm. what is your opinion with this ?

I eat 3 eggs almost everyday and I don't have body fat or any health problems. I agree with this doctor. I think that plant oils are much more like sunflower oil are much more harmful for the body. I work out everyday and eat eggs sometimes I drink them raw. In my country there is a personal trainer who drinks 10-15 raw egs for breakfast everyday and he has the greatest body and health condition I have ever seen.

I have heard about this before already and never thought it could be the truth. Hmm i think though this has a good basis, as there are always a lot of foods that we neglect but in reality helps our body maintain its health.
Perhaps for me though since i am not an egg lover, and yeah i thought wrong because i havee heart problems and thought maybe the egg might have contributed to it getting worse. i'd try to have some once in a while. hehe =) thank you so much for sharing. ;)

hi chiyosan the problem with eggs is there is some bad cholesterol in the yolk which are bad for people with already high cholesterol so just make egg white scramble and have protein without the bad fats.too high cholesterol is hard on the heart too. .

I am not sure how true that is. I still control the eggs that my kids eat in a week. I would rather feed them only 1-2 in a week than give them more than that. It may be true that some other food may cause the increase of cholesterol in one's body. But still, egg is something that kids want all the time which we have to control giving.

I have also read that there has been a reversal in attitudes towards eggs. There was an advert some years ago which read 'Go to work on an egg' that was dropped after the cholesterol scare. There was another fear of salmonella too, a minister in the UK said that it was to be found in most eggs. That stopped people from buying eggs for a while.
Personally I enjoy eggs, particularly scrambled ones and I will continue to eat them on a regular basis. I suspect the medical research has moved on but articles on the internet have not.

I have heard that eating two to four eggs in one week was ok. I know my brother was eating 3 hard boiled eggs a day when he lived with me. He is doing just fine. I believe its all to do with people eating other foods that are really not good for them. Especially if you have a egg with a bunch of other junk on top of it. Then that junk is the problem. I eat two to four eggs myself a week and I'm healthy with no high cholesterol, high blood pressure or anything else for that matter. Thank God!

This is an interesting as well as conflicting topic on eggs, really as far as i know eggs are good for unceasing hemoglobin levels in an quick way, also are good for initial growth development of bones and body muscles.Eggs are good for children's who keep on running and doing exercises regularly.
But yes for grownups eggs might be dangerous as it contain 300% more cholesterol than chicken meat itself. Not at all good for heart, but since this doc telling us something weird, wanna know his name if possible.
Even myself have raised mine hemoglobin levels in quick time during one of mine weakness times with help of boiled eggs.

hi jenny its the egg yolk that contains the bad cholesterol so why not make egg white omelets or scrambled egg whites as they are all good protein and no harmful fats. I can eat the whole egg as I have never had high cholesteroll in my life.

I also come to realized that recently. They say its high in cholesterol but I think it is highly nutritious. I think before you should just eat egg every other day and limit to just one piece. I would research more about eggs if they are really wonder foods.

Eggs do have cholesterol in the yolk- approximately 200mg per large egg. However worldwide epidemiologic studies show that most healthy people can eat 1-2 egg per day without problems. And if you are too worried, eat the whites- the protein will do you good.

Hi,
I think the doctor is right. Eggs have high contains of proteins. In my childhood when I was cured from typhoid doctor had advised me to eat eggs to regain the strength which was lost in illness. My wife's cousin sister had bypass surgery two months before and she has advised to eat one egg daily.

I think egg is a miracle food because you can do a lot of dish using it or with it and it is always so good. it is very nutritious and definitely good for us. However, most doctors of older people that I know and within my family were advised to lay it low on eggs because of the cholesterol content. It may be good for some, but definitely not for others.

hi fearlessgara they are good for you as long as you do not have any bad cholesterol problems then you need to stick to egg whites as they give you protein with out any fat. Otherwise one egg a day is what i eat and i am fairly healthy too.Eggs are really good protein and easily digested also.

Hahaha...I too heard of this two contradict versions.
There is one reputable doctor in my country who used
to have seminars and talks. He always said this "If
you dare not eat the egg yolk, send it to me, I will
eat them." So, I personally think that whatever it is,
eat moderately.

I enjoy eggs in any form - boiled, par boiled, scrambled, omelet, fried - sunny side up, double fried, in puddings, in cakes, in souffles - the works. But recently I got the news about yolks containing high ldl. So I have been going slow much to my sadness. But after reading your post I am encouraged and 2 eggs are on the gas boiling as I writing this!
