Pearly whites and other things

I was reading some beauty tips the other day (yes, I know I'm pink and gorgeous already but this is for you ladies not so fortunate ) j/k
Anyway, the blurb was that if your teeth are not perfectly white there are a couple of things you can do to make them look better than they are.
The first thing is to wear blue based red or pink lipsticks. What does that mean? you ask...there are 2 types of base lip colours...blue and yellow. Wearing orange or orangey reds or orangey pinks will make your teeth seem more yellow. Wearing the other makes your teeth look less yellow.
Also, wearing pearls or shell beads give the appearance of your skin and teeth to be glowing.
Handy ideas for dressing up for important occasions and photo opportunities don't you think ladies?
P.S. Have you had your teeth whitened professionally?

I have pink lip gloss on in my avatar but I'm not showing my teeth. My favourite lipstick of all time and I'm rapidly running out of it..I have seen it on Ebay though.
Nice tips there and no, I haven't had my teeth professionally whitened. We do have some of that whitening toothpaste but it's a load of rubbish, if you ask me lol.

I agree about the whitening toothpaste...they'll do/say anything to get us to buy their brand. I've even tried a gel that I leave on my teeth and hold a blue light to it.
Of course there was no change and I feel such a fool for trying it. Thank goodness it was not expensive.
I even tried bi-carb soda ... I heard that's what Julia Roberts uses. My teeth were really clean and smooth and shiny so they did look a little better but no, they were not whiter by any stretch of the imagination.

I suspect, with Julia Roberts, she has white teeth to start with. A lovely-looking woman and I'm so pleased she's the face of one of Lancome's fragrances.
Ricky Gervais amuses me as he's well known virtually around the world but he refuses to have his teeth whitened, primarily for US audiences. I don't know what he uses as an excuse but it's his life so should be able to look how he wants to look.
I mean, look at the state of Simon Cowell now, he looks (and is) so fake!

Well, my dear friend...I DO need a make-over! What your wonderful article is missing....WHAT looks good with dirt! It's gardening time...I am dirty from head to toe....I think seeds would grow under my nails..LOL!
I don't know what is the matter with me...I just don't dress=up anymore...and I used to be a fashion parade, just on my own!
Betcha you are getting exciting...even I am for you! HUGZ

I became a tad anxious this morning. I have left filling out my passport application till now because I am expecting copies of my marriage certificates.
I was reading before I filled it in and I read that I need divorce papers as well. Now the marriage certificates (2) have taken a few weeks and cost me $96. The list of pricey incidentals is getting longer and here I am, thinking I have to pay for then wait for these ones as well.
It all became a bit much and I was wanting to back out. There are a few other things going on concerning large sums of money where I have to hand over the cash and trust that I'm doing the right thing. It's quite scary.

OMG, having to tap into money, set aside for the trip! I truly, truly do feel for you, as I just went thru that whole flippin' process last Spring/Early Summer dealing with the Federal Government over my pensions. Yup, paid $75.00 for Marraige Certificate...another $75.00 for Divorce Certificate, (waited forever for them)...SENT them by Double-registered mail to the government Office....THEY HAD TO SIGN at their end for receiving them...and THEY HAVE LOST MY DIVORCE CERTIFICATE! Course they won't admit that..I even had to get my Member of Parliament involved...and STILL only have a portion of my pensions..and I have to mount an appeal for my credit sharing portion.
Dearheart, my advice...if at ALL possible...DO NOT trust those documents out of your hands...handcuff them to you. They will misplace them...AND LIE!
It was such a flippin' mess...they played me out, and I haven't filed my appeal yet!
I am sorry about the ruination of your budget...but please do what you can to make this trip...YOU deserve it!

I think they send me home if I show up with blue lipstick at work but I might have to check it out on my days off.
I like to wear wild and crazy colors, wouldn't mind putting some blue in my hair but then again stupid work might not like it

Hi missybear -
it's not blue lipstick,, it's a blue base lipstick. That is, red or pink mixed with blue to give it a cool look. That's instead of yellow bases which give a warm look.
Something tells me your work cannot dictate to you what colour your hair can be. I've worked in places with very strict dress and hygiene codes and they could say nothing about the colour of their staffs hair.

I see lots of people with the bright red high lights and I thought about doing something like that, I'm gonna have to check out the policy

I'm actually thinking about whitening my teeth. I sometimes do the blue based lipstick trick (not just red, but pinks, neutral colors as well) if my teeth look particularly off that day. Oh, and wearing an off-white instead of white (like in a top or a sweater) gives out that vibe that your teeth are whiter... because yellowy teeth just clash with stark snow white a lot. And some people are not able to tell off-white from snow white if they don't hold samples of the ctwo colors together... so it's not like they would think that the shirt you're wearing is an outworn, once-white tee.

Do people really do what? Have their teeth whitened? Absolutely...it's all the rage in the Western world (and ridiculous too in some cases)
My family all have yellowy teeth...it's a genetic thing and no amount of brushing helps. I also smoke occasionally and drink lots of coffee so my teeth are horrible. My teeth are horrible anyway because they are very crooked. When God handed out teeth I got a bad deal.
