Do you text or call?

I used to hate texting but I find I do it more these days. I seem to be in a rush and texting makes the conversation shorter but then I miss out on hearing voices and maybe talking about other things when I text. I wonder if texting is the lazy way of doing things these days. I know my 2 daughters tend to shorten words which makes wonder if they know how to spell half the time lol Heck I used to hate my cell phone in general. Always having people call me when I am in the middle of something and now I would go nuts without it. I do like chatting with others so maybe I need to stop texting so much. So which do you do text or call?

I hate texting. When someone sends me a message, I just call them back instead of typing.

hehehe :) My father also doesn't like cell phones :D
Well, for me it depends on the situation, the matter and the person. If it's something less important and not an urgent issue, I just text. If I need to urgently call the person and can't wait until he replies to my text, I will better call. In other contexts, for chatting (just as pass-time) I use text, as it is cheaper.

Text. I don't like calling too long. I even often ignore the calls from my boss. If he tries to call me more than three times, then I know there's something important he wants to discuss with me so usually I would call back. But if I only missed one or two calls, then usually I wait until I meet him at the office. Naughty me. Heheheh...
And thank God now I have a boyfriend who also doesn't like calling other than for the sake of his job.

Texting is fine in an emergency but I prefer to talk. It is easy to read a message and decide to wait before replying and then the message gets forgotten among all the other messages coming in. A conversation is a much wider communication and is free to go in any direction the speakers want to take it.
When I get a message from a young person with so many abbreviated words I really have to say it out loud in order to grasp their meaning. They tell me they can spell but I have my doubts about it.
A cell phone is a really useful thing to have and it seems odd now to go out without it, I feel less secure. A few years ago I didn't worry at all if I was out of contact but these days we hear of some terrible things happening to women and girls on their own that it seems almost irresponsible to leave the phone behind.

I used to really dislike texting also but I find I love it now. It's easier to multitask while texting plus discussing serious issues or having serious conversations are a little easier via text. You can express your self more and say things that are hard to say over the phone.

Well I think like anything it depends, haha when I text (depending on the person of course and the way they speak, if they are like, "wht u up 2" I don't ever speak like that but tend to find myself using less words as I get the impression they like receiving and sending texts fast) to most friends I talk how I normally do, long with a good vocabularly and people are probably annoyed waiting ages for my inevitable texts! Lol.

Earlier when I was subscribed to the message offer, for each and every things I used to only text. It was fun for me exchanging or communicating through messages. Moreover it also saves lot of money also. But nowadays I have unsubscribed the message offer since I get hardly time to text. Now calling friends and communicating costs me less when compared to texting. Therefore it all depends on the service providers messag offers.

I usually text. The only people I call are people without cell phones or my husband. It's just easier, especially when you are doing things and moving from room to room, or out and about. I hate talking on the phone when I am in a store because people can here my conversations. I also just hate talking on the phone in general. I prefer to write what I want to say.

I prefer to call. Firstly, when I call its immediate, I know if the person picks up that I'll talk to them straight away. But when you text you don't really know if you're going to get a response or not because the person might not have any credit on their phone or may be away from it, in which case you'll end up waiting for a response. Secondly, I've texted someone before only to find out that the person with whom I was texting was someone else because it was a friend of my friend's that picked up his phone.

I prefer calling, because most of the times I want to tell that person very much in a short time and I don't have time to text o long message. But sometimes I prefer texting , if it's an annoying person whom I don't want to talk very much, or when I'm listening to music or I'm watching a film and I don't want to interrupt it, so I text a message :).

I used to text a lot before to communicate with friends and relatives but I feel to call most of the time when I can now than texting. But, since I am just using prepaid cellphone connection, it is just texting that I can do most. There are cheap promos which only includes texting here in my country

I prefer giving a call and i hate texting most of my time, unless i were on a bus or take the subway. Calling my friends or someone else do save me much time in comparison to text them.
i think i am that kind lazy person and once i find one way to save much time or my energy to do something i would like to select that first.

Over the past years i am having fun of texting and calling to my friends and some of my chatters it made my day cool because their are lots of topics to talk to not just call but also in text. If my fingers will get tired then that is the time that i have to make a call but that is not so often. And now, their is so much changes i do have a cellphone but i didn't use it a lot right now it differs from the past years. I will just hold my cellphone and text if their is much urgent. I do much on text rather on call because if i will dial the customer service will "the number you dial is busy at the moment please dial again" though the one that i am calling is not busy on chattering to others. So i prefer to text

It depends on the person and the situation. For example, I text mostly guy and girl friends, but I call my mom and dad. I do not think it is appropriate to text my parents, of course every one does it. So the bottom line is, it depends...
