I just took a 4 hour nap!
I've had a head cold for a couple days now.. today seems to be the worst of it. I really feel miserable.
A couple days I took a short 2 hour nap.. or as much of a nap as the kids would let me. The older ones aren't always that considerate. Even though they know better, they still run up and down the stairs sounding like a herd of elephants and it keeps me awake.
Today I waited for them all the be home and settled in.. told them to make left overs for dinner, turned on my humidifier, and went to bed around 4pm. I just woke up at 8pm. I don't feel at all better.. still pretty darn miserable. I have no doubt I'll be able to go back to sleep in a couple hours and sleep really good all night.
When was the last time you took a 4 hour nap? Do you tend to sleep more when you're not feeling good?

Earlier in the week. Not sure which day to be honest. Working 7 days a week my days are all a blur. I took a 5 hour nap actually. It was while the kids were at school. I didn't sleep well the night before and I didn't have to work till 5 pm that day.

Yesterday! My head cold had kept me up over 24 hours and I didn't think I was going to get any sleep. Because the day before that I had only slept two hours. But yesterday I went to sleep at 5pm, just hoping to get any kind of rest. I woke up at 9pm. I was thrilled. It was the most consecutive sleep I had gotten in days.

If you are sick you need that nap. Once in a while I have taken really solid naps but not often. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

Been a long time. I have a stupid cold too, everybody has gotten it, even Naomi who never gets sick. But I didn't feel the need to have a nap.

I can't say I can remember when the last time I took a nice long nap like that was. Luckily for you that you will be able to go back to sleep. I would be up until the middle of the night if I napped that late. Hope you feel better...I am just getting over a head/chest cold...it took a good 8-10 days before I really started to feel like myself :(

For me four hours would be a night's sleep on a bad night. I am supposed to have a 2 hour rest daily as my left leg gets swollen and painful and sometimes I do get a nap of about 30 minutes but rarely longer unless I am exhausted. I am sorry that you have been so sick and hope that you will feel beter soon. Colds do demand that you rest and then rest sme more. get better soon

I didn't sleep too well last night.. probably the 4 hour nap mixed with caffeine when I woke up. But I do feel better today. Not 100%, but better.

I can't remember the last time I took a nap let alone a nap for that long lol. My kids are old enough to understand but still can't seem to get the concept of being quiet. They are always being louder then they need to and don't seem to understand that in this new place that is smaller then our old one, sound really carries. I do sleep more when I don't feel good. Or if lack of sleep over a week or so catches up to me.

I do sleep alot when I don't feel good. About a month or so ago I came home from work....changed clothes..laid on the couch at aroud 3 p.m. and slept until 6...got up and went to the bathroom...went right back to sleep and woke up at 8:30....then went to bed and slept until the next morning...I didn't feel well either. Hope you feel better soon!

I went and lay down today intending to take a 'nap'. I wanted to be up in about an hour to do some chores. Ended up waking after about four hours!!! Some nap! I had just eaten some pizza and I usually stay up a while after eating. Shouldn't have done that.
Now I'm awake probably for the night and my internal clock will be all messed up again. And moreso since clocks are changing tonight and I'll lose an hour. Heaven only knows when I'll feel like sleeping again.

Sorry that you are feeling so bad. It is the worse thing to feel sick and so out of it. I don't usually take naps at all. If I do its usually because I'm sick with a fever. Once the sun comes up I'm ready to get up because I can't sleep even if I have it dark in my room some sun will peep through and my body clock tells me its time to get up. I haven't taken a nap in a long time because I haven't been sick in a very long time. Thank God. I hope the kids let you sleep and that you feel better real soon.

It's been a while since I took a nap that long. But over the weekend, the spring-forward time change did throw me into a loop. I woke up Sunday morning just before 6am. Since there was not much to do yet, I decided to continue sleeping and take a nap. It was almost 11 o'clock when I woke up. It didn't make me feel good as I was running late for church service.

lately days I think I have very less nap. I can sleep in about 2am, and wake up at about 7am. it's almost everyday because I only have time to update my blog and articles at night. I have a little baby, so I spend most of time to my baby. it's very tiring, as you say. and yesterday I was collapse. I turn on my computer on 8pm, but then I'm asleep in front of my computer on 9pm. when I woke up, I have no energy anymore to stay online, I turn off my computer and go sleeping

Hi friend, good to know that you had a 4 hour peaceful nap, there is nothing wrong in taking nap, it will give relaxation to us and create a new energy. Naps are good for our health. If you are feeling tired, surely you must take rest or nap to come out from the tiredness
