You know the e-mails. You get one from a friend or contact, and when you open it, there's nothing there but a spammy looking link. You e-mail your contact that they've been hacked, then you delete it. Stupid hackers. Today I got two of them, one from my dentis and one from my veterinarian. Happy hackers. They got into two accounts that had really large contact lists. I hope my dentist and my vet go in and change their passwords to something harder. And as always, may the fleas of a thousand camels infest the body hair of all hackers.

So many of us have seen those or been hacked ourselves. You would think there would be a lot of fleas.

I would never remember a password like that. but I do have several that are variations of a number that is associated with me, but that nobody would guess, and a word that is associated with me, but that nobody would guess. And then I add special characters, caps, etc., as required.

Maybe your dentist and vet have sold their emails lists : there is no law against this -- at least here --.

That happens all the time. Those hackers sure are smart. Too bad they don't use their intelligence and skills for something noble. My yahoo got hacked too. I changed my password to something else. I don't know how they do it. It worry they can get into my bank account. When I get hacked I also change my bank password.

I seem to have the wrong end of things. I thought that when you are hacked, someone actually gets into your account and takes control of it. I thought that what has happened to you here is that you have been phished. Someone on the vet's email list has not cleaned up their email and the list has been collected and sold. Then every address on that list has been searched for other addresses and info and so on. Then you are all spammed. I know you clean up your emails Dawn with no trace of who sent them or from where but most people don't.

I got a spam text this morning before 6:45 this morning and I have bad eyes. Even putting on my astignatism prescription glasses did not help much. I think your dentist, and vet have to change their email, not their password to work.

Wait just a minute here. . .do camels even have fleas? Seriously though, I know exactly what you mean about these silly things and it seems that I've been getting more and more of those, but at least I'm able to delete those emails. The big problem is that our automatic bill pay on our bank has been hacked into and the suggestion is for us to open a new checking account. But then I wouldn't have any checks or anything and bills have to be paid. So we will just leave our account with our electronic banking turned off.

I belonged to a fraternity back when I was still in University. And then, I'm part of the Alumni Association that regularly get updates about our group. Once in a while, there'd be a post on our FB group, or an email from my inbox which is clearly from hackers... May the fleas go to them as well!

Yeah, I get those frequently. Can't block them as the address is correct and I get real and true mails from the friends/relatives. I have notified a couple of the friends that have been hacked and they had to completely abandon that address and open a new one. Funny thing though....I once received one of those hacked spams from one of my own email accounts. I changed the password and so far that hasn't been repeated. Yahoo mails are bad about this. I just no longer use Yahoo for anything.

I get them, too. One day I got one from my boss and a co-worker! I told both of them. One deleted his e-mail address. My boss was not shocked. It seems to happen to so many people! My sister's account has been hacked, too. Her e-mail contained selling viagara! I know my e-mail was hacked here and on Facebook. After I changed both passwords I have had no more trouble. I hope that stays that way! I think one reasons hackers do it bccause they have nothimg better to do!
