I started smoking when i was 14 years old and until now i'm smoking. I am 25 years old with a wife and 2 kids. I am worried that if i don't quit smoking i might have a sickness. My kids are too young and i wanted to provide anything they need. How am i going to provide it if i would have a sickness because of smoking. I usually smoke whenever i'm vacant and after every meal. If im going to estimate, I take 10 sticks per day. Any suggestions.

First, It is great you realize that this bad habit can harm your family. The craving to smoke last for just 3 minutes. So You can instead have a fruit, eat almonds or change the scenery go out for a walk, call a friend, or read. Search in forums about quit smoking. Have a glass of water

We all knew that smoking is not good for our body aside from the fact that it also endangers the health of the members of our family. Reports says that inhaling second hand smoke is more dangerous than the smoker himself. I too was a victim of this addiction, I just hope I can find a way to stop too.

Try distracting yourself or find something to eat that will keep your mouth busy. You should also ask for advise from a doctor because you might be suffering from dependence of Nicotine. If you just suddenly stop smoking in a snap you might suffer a condition called withdrawal syndrome, this is where your body suddenly was shock from lack of substance you have been taking for so long and it's bad for your health.
If you can try controlling or lessen your number of smoking in a day say like maybe 9-8 sticks per day, but I'm not really allowed to advise on what exactly you should do. It's best to ask help from a professional.

You are indeed a loving and dedicated father to make the decision to quit smoking for the sake of your children. YOU CAN QUIT smoking. I know you can do it because your reason for doing so is because of your love for your children. You just need Determination to achieve that. Just say "NO, I WON'T SMOKE ANY MORE", then you will be free forever. Just think of your children when the urge calls. YOU CAN CONQUER IT!

They say quitting is more difficult than starting , when it comes to smoking. It's good enough that you've decided to quit, but how dedicated are you to really quit? It totally depends upon your decision really.
I don't really smoke but I have met a lot of people who would rather have their legs cut off than quitting (or trying to). But ex-smokers say "it can be done". The secret here is not immediately quitting. It's about the right time and pace. They say if you want to quit, you do it in a pace. Quit half a stick a week/month (depending on your urges). You say you can smoke around 10 sticks a day, you can start with 9 1/2 this week, then slowly pace yourself to do 9, then 9/12 and so on. Remember the pace is about you. If your pace is 2 weeks then it's fine, if it's a month, then it's good too. Then try to exercise too or keep yourself busy so that urges would come easy.
I do hope you could do it! Good luck!
Have a great mylot experience ahead!

I agree with you- if you only want to quit it, you would never quit it. If you really get rid of this bad habit for your health and pocket simply quit it. I did it back in 2004 and quit it in one day. Imagine some one smoking 30+ figs a day giving up in one day flat. I gave it up and never touched it whatever was he temptation. You can do it with strong willpower and nothing else, give it a try. Cheers.

My husband was a heavy smoker. He quit half a year ago. So you can do it if you really want to. By saying "really want to" I mean you are not compelled to do it because you know theoretically it's important. It works much better when you believe that you like to do it and you want health, a longer life and a happy family together. You can encourage yourself by picturing yourself in thirty or forty years, healthy and happy. If you think of it as a task, you probably would want to smoke more whenever you fail. It's better that you take it as a happy thing. Take your time and good luck!
