With weight loss there is always the sagging skin when you lose a lot. When you are older you lose the elasticity in your skin. I compared this picture with my picture taken at Christmas and there is a difference. I can tell that I am smaller than I was. I don't like that hump in my midriff area, but that can't be helped. That is from a Hernia repair, and will always be like that.
My jeans are getting baggy on me where they gather in the front and back. When they start falling off me I will get me some new ones.
The pic went sideways.

It is not a bad thing to lose weight as long as it is not lost drastically and fast. Try toning exercises so your skin will be tighter.

My skin won't be tighter. I've lost about 120 plus pounds and the stretched skin will never go back to fit like a glove. It would take surgery. The connective tissue beneath the skin is very loose. I do get a good amour of exercise in my arms but it won't help that.

Then you will have to accept your body as it is but still do some exercise to keep yourself healthy and fit.

I had been working on my floppy arms in my body pump class. Though I've got some to make up for since I haven't been real regular there or anywhere lately with schedule changes and kids sick back to back. But I guess working on your triceps are supposed to help with that floppy section of arm.
I'm at a similar point my clothes are baggy but everything still fits these darn hips. I hope to loose some of this hip business whenthe weather warms up and we can get outside more than the mad dash from the house to the car ect.

Well I could use it all around but these hips are what's keeping me in a bigger size.

Thank you! I'm feeling really good too. My arms are a lot smaller than they once were, but I so hate the telltale sign of being much bigger.

Thanks Aunt Hatley. I've gotten back in the habit of eating 4 ounce portions. I bought two packs of 8 glad bowls with kids to put the serving size of soup. I also made cornbread and cut it into one ounce squares. Then I eat half of it and eat the other half later of one bowl. It works well for me. I see my daughter starting to trim down too. She is eating like I am. Her downfall is ice cream. Her hubby beings home a box of those 8 ounce ice cream cups. I told her to just eat half and save the other half for the next day.

No photo attached...but I have noticed they are so small you really can't see the photos when they are posted.
Congratulations!
It is great news to hear that you lost that much weight. What an accomplishment. Keep it up in the healthy way you are doing it. You are already feeling better because of it.
Benefit: New clothes...how fun is that?

A guy I went to college lost weight all at once, it was something like 200lbs. He has saggy skin as well. I donèt think without surgery it would go back to normal. But I admire him, seeing as he lost the weight all natural, and worked (just change in his diet, and exercise)for it this is very uncommon now a days.

No it won't go away without surgery. I eat very little. My meals are from 2 to 4 ounces at a time. I do that to keep my stomach to only accept small amounts. It's a lot easier for men to lose. Estrogen in women makes it much more difficult. I'm proud to have kept off 120 plus pounds but I still want to lose 80 more. I'll decide then whether I want to lose more or not.

Congrats on the weight loss! you look great! you should be so proud of yourself. i had a friend that lost this huge amount of weight also and had the flab. She just dressed accordingly. you really could not notice it with the clothes that she wore. i think you look great. i don't think you should worry about it.

I know what you mean. I used to look at my grandmother's arms with all that skin hanging down and thought I will never let myself get that out of shape.
The reality is now I have all that skin hanging down as well. Unfortunately we become our parents.

No amount of exercise is going to bring back form skin to a sagging body. The connective tissue is all stretched out.

If you lose a lot of weight in a short time it will make your skin more "floppy" as well.. not only your arms. Yes the elasticity is partly gone so it is a good idea to help yourself/your body/skin a bit. By wearing special underwear for example. The one that will put some pressure from the outside. I don't know, might be this is kind of available for the whole body, arms as well. I know that if I wear it it does help. Also if I leave it out for a while later on. You could give it a try.

There is something called spanx that will help the tummy and top part. My brother list 160 pounds in 2 years. He was diabetic with terrible leg ulcers. He isn't diabetic anymore. He has lots if flabby skin too. He walks 7 miles on his off days. He was unable to work for years but now he holds a full time job at 66 years young.
Even with lots if exercise the skin doesn't just go back. I'm really proud if him. I'll be glad to reach my goal.

Hi friend...It is right that the elasticity of skin will lose when we are growing old, it is natural. I know you hate floppy arms, but I think you should enjoy with this. Bring your mind on to healthy life than physical. You have lose your weight, it is a good achievement, keep it. If your skin cannot come back to the shape try to receive it or take some natural treatment to make your skin tight to avoid some negative effect. Have a nice day.

That's true. Even seniors without a weight problem will have sagging skin to some degree. I will start choosing clothing to minimize my flaws. That's all I can do.

You are looking good and I am glad that you are eating healthy again. I am disappointed in myself as for the last year I have let my toned muscles turn to flab in some places, including my triceps. I am just starting back to get some aerobic exercise and adding a little bit of weight training as well. I know that you cannot shrink the leftover skin when you lose. I wish you could. I wish I could.

Thank you Winterose. My nurse practitioner for Humana has set up a goal for me to lose 35 pounds in 4 months. So that will be July. I hope to exceed that goal.
I'm going to let my hair grow for a few more months to see how I look then.

A person can do toning exercises to tighten skin, but you're right, sometimes you just can't get rid of that extra skin. And surgery is so expensive considering only insurance for rich people would pay for it. How long ago did you have the weight loss surgery?

I had it in 2001. My arms are a lot smaller than they were then but still this flabby skin is here to stay.
My Humana nurse has set a goal for me to lose 35 pounds in the next 4 months. I hope I exceed that goal.

Exercise doesn't help shrink lose skin. These arms used to belong to a 412 pound woman. The skin will only go away if cut off. Unfortunately I can't get plastic surgery with my Medicare unless there was a medical problem with the flabby skin.

I am happy for you! You look great and I hope you reach your goal. =) I am sure you will!
I know there is nothing to do about the extra skin-my grandma complains about the same thing on her arms because she lost a TON of weight too and so does my mother. The only thing is surgery and who the heck can afford that? Not anyone I know that's for sure!

Yes it is so expensive. I wish I could afford a makeover when I reach my goal.
I'm a little hungry but not going to eat. I had a half meatloaf sandwich, a half cup of soup, 2 one inch pieces of cornbread and a 3 ounce slice of DiGeorno pizza. And a salad.
The feeling of hunger goes away when I drink water.
