I started gym couples of days before. I have continue after a long time so i am feeling pain in my body. My Legs and Arms are paining like hell :( , i cant even sleep at night due to pain and its hard for me to use stairs etc.
But this pain is really a pleasure :-P , the pain while exercise is symbol of workout.
I feel pump in my muscles so i believe that the quote " No Pain - No Gain " is true.

I call this phrase the successful man's phrase. In whatever we do in life, we should first think of the pains before we hope for gains as suffering begets success.

Yeah your right, most of the time we have to bear the pain of doing something in order for us to succeed on anything we are aiming for. With regards to workout routines, I guess you should start with less efforts as what gym instructors had been explaining like doing it step by step and when you are accustomed to it, you can go to the next level gradually. So that you don't put much strain on your muscles. Anyway, good luck on your workout.

I don`t agree with that. Although I understand that when you exercise you will feel a reasonable amount of pain, specially at the beginning, that unbearable pain has to do with the acumulation of lactic acid in your muscles and it`s no good at all for you. Pain is not a symbol of anything. We must start our excercising schedule little by little, going more as our body is more capable of exercising.

that is ideally correct because we need to workout and we must witness the pain to know that we are working and with pain we are reaching the top and gaining something

I think you are doing too much too soon especially if it means you are losing sleep because of the pain.
why not take things gradually and enjoy the gain without the pain. Are you in a gym where there is someone who actually advices you on what to do? If you have problems with the stairs you may be putting undue pressure on your knees. So be careful and take advice from a physio.

I'm surprised to know that you are having severe pains in your legs and arms. Is this the first time you are exercising? Even then a pain for two to three days can be normal. If you still have pain for more than three days, it is better to have a review at the exercises done by you to check if you are doing them correctly.
