Hiya myLotters and friends!
Few months ago, I got interested in running. There are lots of fun run events happening everywhere and a friend also convinced me to join them with her other friends to run.
I first run for a 3K category in December and, followed by 5K and and 6K. And my latest run, is a 21K half-marathon. This latest run gave me slight muscle pains after the race but rewarding because I got my first finisher medal.
I guess I will continue running in the next events in the place. But people usually tell me, what could I get from running since I am already small, thin, under-weight, cute?
What could I get from running? Or will I be losing more? What fats can I lose when I already have nothing?

Just like you my niece into running nowadays, together with her boyfriend who is really the running enthusiast. She was so happy when she received a medal too. Just like you she is slim. I even told her to add more flesh.
Well, you will surely be reaping its health benefits, that's what is good with running neildc.
Congrats for getting that medal!

when you are lean you want to be fleshy and plump and when you are plump you yearn for some dramatic weight loss. If you are healthy and strong you feel good. by running you are becoming fitter and your legs are getting the much neede exercise. Later when you want to resume running the muscle memory will make it easy to get started again. keep up the good work.

Congratulations!
Just keep running and finish your race, if that is your passion. Well others who don't have the same passion will not understand for sure but don't mind them.
My husband has the same passion. He runs mostly on 10 to 15K. His last was a month ago. It was sponsored by Red Cross but it was only 5K run so he found it too easy. His previous were those sponsored by Yakult, Adidas, Milo, Nikew ABS-CBN,GMA and many more.
A year ago, he joined 25K but he told he won't do it again. He finished it but he suffered cramps. I am glad he knows his limit. Nowadays though I noticed my husband is giving more attention to biking.
I used to run also but I stopped because I was told that running is not for women because it can cause facial sagging and not good for the hip bones and also can give chronic pain on the knees. Well it is better to take precautions so I stopped.

hi salonga. thank you.
my wife's actually one of those who is stopping me from running. she would say that i have nothing to gain. and if i am losing something, there's nothing that i actually can lose as i am already thin. she would say that in the end, i will be going to be skeleton.
but i always show her that in every race, though i see to it that i finish them without showing her pains. it's the endurance they say and not the time of how fast you can finish.

Those narrow minded people don't know what you will get after all. It's not the fame you are after for. The most important thing you enjoy what you are doing. Besides, you can meet different people within your place who also love running.
The same question I received when I joined a mountaineering course. What we can get to reach the peak of the mountains? Well, satisfaction and enjoyment. Accompanied with different kind of people who are nature lover.
Aside from that, it will help to boost our health conditions and another way of exercise.

I used to job 7.5 miles daily. I was fit and had good stamina. But I started getting Charlie horses in the bottom of my feet. I had to quit running cause they hurt too badly. Congratulations on your medal. You will be thin and muscles healthy in your legs. I wouldn't worry about it.

Congrats for winning the medal. I have participated in a few races in my time. I don't really think you get much from running to be honest. I don't believe running in the long run is good for you. It weaks havoc on your feet, ankles and knees over time. I truly believe the best thing to do is fast walking. It revs up your heart just like running and its easier on your legs and feet. If you don't need to lose weight the only benefit might be the toning of your legs but that is about it.

Some want to lose weight that is the reason why they run. Some however to release stress and problems in their lives. That is what I read about the testimonies of some runners. I think it releases endorphins too that it can get rid of stress. Same as climbing the mountains, most of the climbers do the climbing to release of their problems and disappointments and when they are on top they would just take a deep breath relax and go down. And this will renew them. Others do it for adventure and for fun. Just keep on running it makes you healthy physically and mentally. Good Day!

You will gain a lot in the long run( no pun intended)The legs will become fitter and stronger and over a period of time the calf muscles will stand out as will the thigh muscles. You will look great n shorts and tights. Running is a great cardio vascular exercise and your heart and lungs will be healthy. Your fitness and endurance levels will go up. Your achievemnets will be appreciated by others.

congratulations on the medal! I have tried running and I do not like it very much. However, everyone is different. I prefer my scooter, as it is low impact and very fun. Whey you must push your weight on the scooter you get a good exercise, and then you can glide for a while. I love my scooter! I get a good runners high from it and it is very low impact.

there are lots of benefits we can earn from running though i am not running but i am considering it maybe when my husband arrive from his work because he was assigned in another place.. anyways i read somewhere that running is one of the best ways to give your heart muscle an effective workout. By running regularly you can improve circulation, and reduce the risk of a heart attack, high blood pressure.. If you run on a regular basis you are continually taxing your muscles and bones so the bones are stimulated to remain stronger and do not easily weaken with age. So bye bye osteoporosis.

I think if it makes you happy then do it. You can always eat more to try to add a little bit of weight to you to make it where she might would see it more beneficial. I have heard running is harder on the knees and stuff though.

Running has several benefits. The most famous is a healthy heart. Running is an effective way to give our cardiac muscles and effective workout. It improves circulation which in turn improves cardiac muscles which later on will prevent or reduce the risk of heart attack, high blood pressure and stroke. It does not only improve our cardiac muscles, it also strengthens our bones which will help us fight osteoporosis. From my experience, running helps improve sleep and reduce stress as it helps me see the world in a more positive light. It also boosts my-self esteem and self-confidence. How? I was able to finish my committed distance right? There are other benefits of running and trust me, there are more benefits other than health ones. It is also a great way of forging new relationships and creating new ones.

I've lost weight because of running. I've never been a runner but after trying the couch to 5k program where it helps you start from running one minute through to running 30 minutes non stop, i haven't stopped. I've run a few 5ks, 10ks and recently ran my first half marathon. I'm injured at the moment but planning on a few more 5ks like the color run, a mud run and a drenched water run. Hoping to do another half later in the year. If I'm up to it, I might just try a marathon next year.

First of all, congratulations!
Well, running aren't only for those who wanted to lose weight. It is actually a form of exercise which is good for our heart (cardiovascular). And like what my colleague here would always say, regular exercise can help someone to relieve stress and be happy. He also said that it can help him think positively. Apart from those I have mentioned, regular running can actually improve our body resistance and strength. Accompanied with proper diet, I think that running can help someone be less prone to sickness.

Glad to hear that you are running and that it is something you enjoy. Keep it up. You get enjoyment out of it. There are a lot of people who are in great shape and who still enjoy doing things like that. For a lot of people they consider things like this a hobby.

There are many benefits from running. Some of these benefits may include weight loss, improved cardiovascular health, improved bone health, improved mood and better coordination. Running is also beneficial for slowing down the aging process. If you are active with running now and then, you have to eat healthy also. Loosing and not giving back whats lost can cause some medical issue. You need to support your body by giving proper food, you need more protein, vitamins and mineral to supprt your body defenses. its good to be healthy and fit! Keeps your confidence high and self esteem! :) I would try to be active with running again. Im inspired now haha Thnk you. XX

Running is a very good form of exercise. As for my knowledge is concern, it helps a lot to circulate the blood well in our body. However for beginners, they should put some limitations, they don't need to harm themselves. Little progress everyday will be better.Another is, it also let your breathing or stamina longer.Eventhough I know the benefits of running, I still feel so lazy to exercise...
