I still count with my finger!

I am good with other subjects but not that much on math. lol - I usually get the answers on the calculator or when i count slowly. Ehhh! Embarassing.. xx

I am to give you a happy information that I read in various articles. Persons uninterested to simple mathematics have more possibility to be better artists. You may noted that there is a rhythm to enjoy while counting by fingers. I haven't fully believed what you said here since you are memorizing a lot of matters in past. I am a graduate in physics so there were no way without getting thorough at least in simple mathematics.

Don't you worry, I do count with them too. With all the calculators in mobile phones now, it is so funny that I still use pen and paper to do numbers.:)

i am neither bad in mathematics nor i am expert in mathematics but i am slow and use calculator.

I am slow in Math too. Knowing this, I force myself to do calculations without calculators or my fingers. It doesn't make me faster and it makes it harder, but I like the challenge, sometimes. I saw Mackenzie doing this on The Newsroom. It was revealed as something funny about her, a quirk or something, but I would guess you feel conscious about it. And people who laugh about it are being quite insensitive. I'm sure they have something they are conscious about too, and would not like other people to notice. Don't worry so much. There's nothing wrong with it, what's wrong is with the people who make fun of this.

I count with my fingers to know the time and date,now we have calculator to help.LOL

Me too, but difficult even with a calculator to get the numbers out right. I take classes and when it comes to getting the fees right, I spend so much time figuring out what is what its so darn annoying!! Not to mention embarrassing and frustrating..

I also use sometimes fingers and calculators. I love doing additions and subtractions especially when going for grocery shopping and tries to count the money of things I have taken and I think it is fun counting money by one's oneself while shopping.

it is normal, not everyone is good at arithmetic or math for one. i do cheat too lol its easier with a calculator on hand.

hi Although I do not count on my fingers but I do not use a calculator for small sums either. I can count and calculate without using up to a certain point later I must adapt to standard methods to be accurate. However I do not find it wrong if you use your fingers to count, tat at least give you full confidence that you made things right. Cheers.

me too, i cannot count more faster using my mind. like you, i need to use my hand in counting and if required i included my feet as well funny it seems but that is true. i am weak in math and i hate math. but i guess, we are just lacking mastery and technique in solving math problems more in school. but to my astonishment, my niece is good in math, she can easily add or minus numbers using her mind. my sister and i will just laugh because we ourselves knew that our niece is much better than us in counting without using calculator or her hands or feet hahha thanks for bringing this discussion with us :)

You're not alone! I am an Accountant and let me tell you doing mental sums still is a struggle for me and I need my fingers, calculators and even good old pen and paper to do some additions.

i hate math sorry but i really hate counting and solving math , im having headache when i was studying everytime we had our math subject, sounds weird but it is true. i don't know why i cannot be able to solve math problems i am really having a hard time for math subject. how i wish my kids will not hate math too...

Honestly every once in a while I count on mine as well. I try not to. I try to do math mainly in my head if not I do it on paper or calculator or on my fingers. I think everybody does it sometimes, even if they do not want to admit it.

Nice!First fo all a very very Happy Holi Frind! Not a bad idea to count on fingers, most of my friends use finger to count on math and one more friend i found to use finger for math! I do not need to use finger for this but you should not think like that if you can not count quickly,it all depends on practice only. IF You want to improve your counting tips the you junst need to practice more and more an you would see that you are able to count without fingers or without calculator, i always try to solve the problems without calculator and i find it a lot beneficial for me even i am not from math background but math is my favourite.
