Whenever I feel so stressed-out, watching horror films helped me out. The change of reaction in every plot changes. Would you feel the same way?

I don't think it gets better because you watch a horror film. I think it gets better because for that period of time while you are watching the movie, you are not thinking about the stress that is bothering you. So any entertaining movie would be the same.

hahaha i can imagine.... haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... for no reason.... my nieces, nephews and sisters love/hate watching scary movies with me... when we watch at home.. we will set the mood... we will turn off all the lights... then we will prepare food, popcorn and soda (Unhealthy but .. never mind) .. then. we will watch together.. and I will shout really loud... sometimes i will shout for no reason just for fun... then they will hate me for that hahaha...

The adrenalin rush I guess. Doesn't do it for me though.

Wow, that is really interesting. I was not aware of this. I do watched movies like Mama, some Japanese and Thailand horror movies that really scary! Full of suspense and I will bring my pillow along to cover my eyes during the scary scenes. Yes, it makes you forget all worries and only focus the screen right in front.

All the reactions will be into one setting. I like the movies, scary is one of the best I am looking for.

I do think that whatever that can make not think of anything else while I am stressed can surely help me out. The best would be really watching tv or go to the movies.

Actually yes it is for me too! When i stressed out or even depressed i watched horror movie, its like the intense, and a fear factor from that movie can reduced the stressful or deppresing fellings of mine. I don't know why, but it is.

That's one of the factor we had some preferences. I do agree with you though.

To me, music helps me get rid off stress and I enjoy playing with my adorable dog.

That's sounds terrific. If I have the time, I used to play with my golden retriever. But now, he is so big enough to have the wrestling mania.

If that works for you, I can't argue otherwise. We all have our ways of dealing with stress. I'm retired, so I no longer have the stress I had when I was working, and I didn't really have much stress then; but if I should have stress, I take it to the Lord. He relieves my stress.

I have the complete opposite reaction. Watching horror or scary movies stress me out to the point that I'm screaming at the TV. So I don't usually watch these types of movies. Many times when I start to watch a movie not knowing it scary I have to get up and do things till the scary part is over. That is when I say "why am I watching this.?

That's really nice to get rid off that type of films. Though I don't watch that often.

Hello shavkat, Yes they can do. If the horror films you are watching change a lot during the time it lasts well it could relax you trying to figure out what is going to happen next. In the Summer here "Columbo" is usually on or "Open Case" and they are quite good although they are not horror films I know but they all have a good plot usually.xxx

I think that it could be stressful for some and for others a stress reliever really depends on the person.

I am not sure will have to try it next time I am feeling stressed. I usually just meditate or read.

Horror films doesn't really affect my mood. It would just give me a paranoid mind in thinking and recalling those scenes in the movie. So technically, stress is added whenever I watch such.

I like to watch movies that are moving and make me cry when I'm stressed. All the feelings gather together and out in my tears, and I feel better!

Some people are with you. They do choose love stories to cry out loud. After pouring all the tears, they are all fine.

That would not work for me, on the contrary, my stress level would be further increased!

I am not sure how the horror movies will help me with my stress; although, I am very much into them. Lately, the plots in the newer horror movies are ridiculous. You clearly can predict what is coming. But I guess the fast action-packed (featuring actors by the likes of Jason Statham) and or romantic-comedy movies are a good watch for me when I am stressed.

Yes, it helps me too. I think seeing someone in a worse situation than myself helps and then to go through their stress and strain with them helps me as well. Love my horror flicks either way.

Hi Shavkrat: Maybe it works for you but not for me though hate horror films so I would probably end up more stressed than I was before going to the movies. Not a big fan of this genre I think. ALVARO

I haven't really felt the same way. They don't affect me that much. A nice bubble bath, on the other hand...
