Neglecting The Housework Because I'm Still Feeling So Groggy!

Oh dear! It's not like me neglecting the housework. I am glad I was slotted in this week for my operation but it's scuppered my plans somewhat, as I was going to clean, clean and clean some more, as I will be at Mum's next week and don't like coming back to a doss-house lol.
I did some hoovering yesterday and was planning to take my Dyson DC04 upstairs today but I just KNOW I can't carry it up there. Because I'm feeling groggy with my drugs and everything I don't want to risk it. I may get the polish out later but time is running out if I want everything done to my satisfaction before Monday. I'm also feeling sick and my arms feel like jelly.
I guess I have to take all the tablets prescribed? I'm halfway through the Ibuprofens and I have a few more of the Codeine tablets. As far as the cystitis goes - well, that's improving but what I don't want to do is suddenly stop taking the tablets and the pain comes back.
Of course, when the Nurse was explaining how to take the tablets to me I was even groggier than I am now.
Mind you, I do NOT regret having the Endometrial Ablation done..not at all. I have no discomfort in my lower abdomen so I guess I should be thankful.

Your body needs time to adjust and to heal after the op my friend, so you should be taking it more easy and putting your feet up and recuperate, I am sure the housework can wait a couple more days, until you are feeling yourself again. Don't rush it! I am sure you are exaggerating about coming back to a doss-house, I suspect your house is totally immaculate! Hugs to you my friend and wishing you both a wonderful Easter and Flojo, naturally ;0)

If you are taking antibiotics for the cystitis, then you need to take them all. But if you're not experiencing discomfort from the operation, why are you still taking the pain pills? Perhaps stop the codeine now and see how it goes with just the ibuprofen. And you definitely don't want to be doing any heavy lifting at this time.

I've had my op already and yes, it did go well, thankfully. I know I moan about being groggy but I don't mind it really. I am experiencing some cystitis and very light blood loss, but that's it. I consider myself extremely lucky.

Janey....The ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory pain reliever but it isn't like taking an antibiotic. When prescribed an antibiotic, you must take the whole bottle. But ibuprofen may be taken on an as needed basis. If you're not in pain or uncomfortable you do not need to take it.
The codeine is strictly an opiod pain reliever. It should be taken only if you need it for the more intense pain.
The combination of the two is what is making you so groggy and they will also make you nauseous. So I suggest that you take the ibuprofen for the general discomfort and the codeine for severe pain.

It's good that the operation went well. You are almost to the end of the pills, so the grogginess won't be around for much longer. In the meantime, I don't think that the house is going to fall apart if you slack a bit on the housekeeping.

No, I don't think the house will fall apart either, to be honest. It's just that I feel guilty if I don't clean as well I should lol.
The bathroom definitely needs doing..and I shall perform that thankless task tomorrow, Good Friday or not!

My test came out alright but they told me that for today I shouldn't do a lot of walking and house work or lifting things. I am going to take their advice and just do things that take no active.

Lifting is definitely out for me too which is why I didn't take my hoover up the stairs. It's heavy enough when I'm well, never mind when I'm a bit woozy lol.

hi janey for goodness sakes take care of you first as the house work is not going anywhere and it sounds like you need some time off to fully recover from your Ablation first.WE so often do just work and care for others it will keep first then maybe care for ourselves which is in the wrong order I think. I know we all love clean houses bu it will keep. Do keep taking your pills until are pain free. G ood Luck and God bless. take it easy please.

You were recovering, you're not supposed to be doing housework. (stern look)

My dear Janey, don't be too hard on yourself. The cleaning can wait. If you still feel groggy with all the medications you have taken, then just take advantage of it and have a rest.

Normally, you should have had a good rest after operation. However no sooner had you left hospital than you began a desperate race against time to do housework. There is no need for you to be too hard on yourself and do it as you used to.
