Hi all! This discussion is for those friends who love to get hold of new mobile phones with latest technology. Technology is rapidly changing and we are bombared with new mobile phone every other day. One can have a big cell phone like Samsung Glaxy Note-II or now a days even variants of various tablet (phones) are available. I would like to hear the experiences of those mylotters who use big phones or a tablet category phones. Do they find that tablet phones are worth their price and convenient to use for calling, net surfing, images and videos? Thanks in advance.

Hello there, these phablets are really getting very popular nowadays. Phones that may seem a bit big especially the screen size compared to other phones and smartphone but the thing is they also serve as a tablet. The galaxy note 1/2, galaxy s3 and upcoming s4 are phablets. Many people like these devices, however I prefer something a bit smaller, so a smartphone will likely be my choice. Currently, I am using a Nokia n900 that dual boots Maemo 5 (linux) and android gingerbread, it may be old but it's still reliable and probably one of the best handheld devices for multi-tasking.

I went window shopping to look at Samsung's phones and found out that they are really expensive. They are outside my price range. Even if the price seems cheap for a combination of a phone, tablet and camera, I'd rather buy separate and distinct devices. Just last week, I bought a Nikon camera because that is how I want to take photos. I don't snap photos with my phone and send them somewhere. I usually take so many photos and pick the best one and then, I upload them to the internet.

Hi Gh! You could call it phablets. Yes, indeed these are getting popular these days and some of them are expensive. Your response tells that you have not used any tablet phone and you are happy with your older version. Thanks for sharing.

I don't have a tablet just yet, but I'm planning to buy one in the next few months. I plan to use it for presentations or checking up on my blogs so I just need the WIFI capability. I don't think I'll be using a tablet for making calls because it's too big or inconvenient to be carrying around. And the price is too steep for a phone. I could buy a good notebook computer with the price I'm expected to pay for a big Samsung phone. Anyway, I'm a computer programmer so my most important equipment is a notebook computer. I'm just getting started with using Android devices.

HI! It is nice to hear that you are planning to buy a new tablet phone so that you could easily check your blogs etc. I agree that making call with a tablet phone looks bit problematic and cumbersome. Hopefully, you are able to get all your things done on your notebook.

I have a 7' tablet and it can work like a mobile phone. However, I almost don't use it as a mobile phone because it looks so odd even if it is not as large as an iPad But I like the mobile phone with big size screen because I like watching movies by it. If I will buy a new cellphone again, I would like to have a cellphone like Samsung Galaxy Note

Hi you! I agree that a 7" tablet is difficult to use a normal mobile phone. I think a tablet would come handy for watching movies/videos. So when you are going to buy a Galaxy Note? Thanks for joining.

I have the samsung galaxy s4, and not sure if it is considered a phone tablet or not, but i really like using it. I have had smaller phones before, and they are just to small. i like the bigger screen phones, as it is much easier to do the things on it that I like doing or would do on my laptop. Now the note 2 I think, can be considered a phone tablet, as it is bigger than th4e s3, as I can put my phone on top of the not2, and that is really big for sure. my phone is a 4.8 inch phone, where the note 2 is 5.5 inches I do believe. that is really huge for a pho9ne. I could have got that one instead of the s3, but I thought for a phone, the note 2 was just a little to big. I like my phone a lot and won't be changing it any time soon. Take care, and have a good day.

I found a big phone was actually hard to use as a phone, at least for me. I switched to a smaller phone that fits in my pocket and is easier to take places.

I never tried using it. Although some tablets now are affordable but I don't have any plan to use one of it. I will stick to mobile phones rather than using a tablet I am not comfortable to bring it anywhere

Interesting discussion Deepu..where have you been..:) I am WAITING for a laptop that can be used as a tablet, and phone, and television, and of course for normal computing and networking, and video and camera recording. :) And I want it at throwaway price. It will take while, but I will get that piece...

I know some people who use a tablet phone. It must be very expensive LOL, my friend wouldn't tell me how much it actually was. It is not a safe device to carry around because there are many people who would love to steal it. Tablets are not as easy as usual phones to hide. Their applications are good and they are fun to use, though it is not a necessity for living unless we use it for work related things. They can be worth it if people know how to fully use it to their advantage and know how to take care of it long enough.

I'm not using a tablet, and I would not use it. It's just too bulky and big for me, and wouldn't even fit into my purse next to my notebooks, textbooks, novel I'm reading, umbrella and so on and so forth. I'm perfectly fine with my smartphone.

I'm still using my Samsung Galaxy Y phone. I know it's an old phone model but it's still useful for me. Aside from the usual call and text feature, I can surf, play games, listen to music, take photos and most especially read e-books. I'm pretty much content with it right now since it's very handy and has just the right size to keep in my pants pocket. However, I also plan on buying a tablet phone or one that has a bigger screen.
