Internet is widely used to search facts and information and photos. It is also used for online jobs, part-time or full-time, to earn more money. Moreover, it is for advertising and promoting of businesses.
There many social media sites and other websites that we need to register for an easy access. We put our names, address and our photos to identify our identity. But do you think doing this may not harm us?
I tried to search my name on Google and I was very surprised that my name and photos on every website that I joined are all there. I didn't expect it and so I deleted my photos even my profile picture. I am not a wanted or a scammer but I am just afraid that someone will use my face for illegal purposes.
Particularly nowadays people are editing some pictures and published it online to mock him/her. I am just protecting myself from any form of harassment that may affect my life.
So if I were you be careful to put your real name on the Internet unless it is stated that they will not publish it on public.

Sadly on the internet nothing is 100% secure, but we can take measures to ensure that we safeguard as much of our own personal information as possible. The internet is wide open to abuse and so much information is out there readily to be stolen and used with criminal intent. Making sure your passwords are as complex as possible and changed often. I don't use my picture, hence I always use the wolf as my avatar. And why I use wolfie instead of my real name.

How about some online websites that require your true name?

coincidentally I've recently developped a visual cryptography tool for videos

The very first time you put your real details (name, address, pictures) on the internet, that's the time you expose yourself to the world so be careful of anything you put on the internet because once you put it there it'll be there forever (even if you have deleted it some archive and cache site still have it).

Hi sittie!
That should be included in the privacy policy of a site. Thank you for reminding us also. Let us also hope that everything will be fine as we go through our online careers.
Have nice day!

I am all aware of the harms Internet could cause. I never ever disclose my personal data other than my name on social sites. I don't undeerstand those people who put their addresses out there, and don't even set their privacy for "only my friends could see it". They are phishers, perverts, stalkers, hackers, thieves everywhere just waiting for some stupid person to put all their data up to earn some easy money or play around with someone.

Social media is never safe , any time our privacy can be invaded . Photos can even be copy pasted . One single mistake , whole world will notice and may defamed us for life. I learnt a lesson never to place my name where every one can see my real identity. I have also tried to search my name in goggle and yes it was there means i ma famous ! LOl !!!
